The second daughter of the Townsend family, her parent's high expectations of success shifted to Brooke at a young age when her older sister Sydney made it clear she had no intention of doing what she was told. Brooke to her credit has shouldered this burden well, though her parents are rarely free from their busy schedule to engage with her much.
When they were younger, Brooke and Sydney were very close, spending most of their time under their various nannies or house staffs' watchful eyes. Unfortunately, as they got older, Sydney began to act out against their strict and distant upbringing, and when Brooke did not follow suit, their relationship quickly fractured. While this rift pains Brooke, she is not able to disobey her parent's wishes enough to ever hope to fix it, though she still hopes Sydney will one day come around and calm down.
