The Sorting Ceremony drew to a close in an eruption of claps and cheers resounding throughout the Great Hall, as the last remaining first year made their way to their new house table. Katherine joined in on the final applause. The Sorting Hat had done its job well, as always. While not every student may have agreed with their house placement - and as with every year some did indeed some looked shocked or disappointed by the decision - they'd soon learn that they were put into their house for the qualities they possessed, whether they were aware of them yet or not. Their traits weren't always so obvious at first, Katherine herself was at times surprised by where the hat placed some of the students, but as time went on and the children developed, their house attributes became more recognizable. The Headmistress was confident they'd come to understand that.

Removing the patchy enchanted hat and the stool it now sat on, Katherine levitated both to the left of the stage and returned to her place behind the podium, raising her hands to command silence. A hush fell over the hall and Katherine began to move on, her voice magically amplified with a Sonorus Charm. "Thank you, students. Now, before we begin, I'd like to introduce myself, and some of the other staff here. I am your Headmistress, Professor Katherine Alicastell, and beside me -" She gestured toward the staff table behind her, where the other professors were seated. "Are your Heads of Houses. These professors are here to guide you and lead your respective houses. Your Head of House for Hufflepuff is Professor Landon Carter. For Gryffindor, Professor Cyndi Kingsley, Professor Kahurangi Josephs for Ravenclaw and for Slytherin, Professor Kalif Styx." She introduced each of them present as she spoke, ensuring the newly sorted first-years knew who to look for if they needed any assistance. After speaking briefly of key points of interest throughout the school, the hospital wing among them, she moved on to conclude the ceremony. "A reminder to those old and new that the forest is strictly off-limits to students, and those found wandering through it without supervision will be punished severely. Another announcement I'd like to make is this; The house-elves employed here are members of school staff, not your personal slaves. Some of you with house-elves in the family may think it appropriate to treat them that way. Let me assure you, it is not. Students are welcome to politely request food from the kitchens out of breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. You are not welcome to demand it, nor are you welcome to help yourselves to the school's food supply without express permission from the elves or another member of staff. I hope I've made myself perfectly clear. With that said, I would like to welcome you all again to another fantastic year at Hogwarts. Stay out of trouble, study hard, and enjoy your time here. Now let the feast begin!" At once, the empty tables were filled with various foods - roast meats, potatoes, salads, and pies tirelessly prepared by the house elves working in the kitchens below, and Katherine returned to her seat at the center of the staff table.

Minnie could admit despite how her break had begun she had been rather happy with its conclusion. Spending the time with Eric and his family had been a little awkward and she had felt deeply out of place but it wasn't the worst thing that could've happened. She put out of her mind what had started the holiday and the whole thing had been nicer than her last few. At least she'd been around people who actually wanted her there. But none of it mattered now. She was back at school, back at Hogwarts and ready for the most vital year of her school. She had all her classes and was really frustrated the sorting feast took so long because she needed to study. But eventually the food appeared and Minnie began filling her plate, already thinking of the work she'd do after.

Daintree had one final year before him and he knew it would be no walk in the park, but given that all he needed to now do was pass he wasn't exactly going to need to work too hard. Better, Dain didn't intend to work hard, he'd do all the classes but he was no longer needing to aim for something that would ensure he got through to the next level, there was nothing beyond this but work and daintree didn't intend to do much. He'd get a career in something, probably quidditch and eventually retire young and then live off his father's wealth. There was an abundance to it and as it turned out he was the only legitimate son and only legitimate heir to the fortune. Daintree looked to the headmistress and to the heads of houses and then finally the food appeared. He would miss these grand feasts, maybe after he'd graduated he'd look into house elves or cooking spells so he wouldn't have to do any of it.

Padme felt odd being back in school, her actual Hogwarts. It was similar and different to the other Hogwarts and really she was quite glad to have experienced both. She had been curious about the other schools since meeting kids who'd come from the other school to this one and though it had cost her somewhat in her classes she really wasn't that bothered with it. She didn't know what she wanted, she knew she wanted to go back to London and she'd figure out the rest then. But, before that she had to finish the school year, had to both start and finish it. She had applauded for each new Hufflepuff and listened to the headmistress remind them of the rules and then the feast started. Padme knew she'd spend a lot of this year comparing this school to Hogwarts Scotland but at the very least she could say definitively, the elves here were way better.

Ajaccio was excited to be back at school, he was looking forward to seeing and spending time with Nicole. he'd be busy but it would be good to spend time with her. The ravenclaw enjoyed the sorting ceremony, it was fun to watch the different kids get sorted. he tried to put to memory the first year ravenclaws so that he'd be able to spot them if they needed any help. The ravenclaw was pleased when it finished and the head mistress then reminded them all of the rules and then the food appeared. He thought he'd maybe have most of his food and knew when it got to dessert he'd go sit with Nicole.

Leia was very excited to be back at Hogwarts, after all, proudly pinned to her uniform was her brand new prefect badge. She was very excited to be a prefect, she had a bit of a cover story for why in case anyone started to think she tried too hard and was really just quite pleased that her work, her wins at duelling were being rewarded. The points were good enough for sure, but this was just better. Of course she'd have to focus on her studies this year and was hopeful that whatever duties she had as a prefect did not eat into everything else that she had. The slytherin had sat through the sorting ceremony and was sitting trhough the headmistress' speech and turned her attention to finding some healthy options from the food that appeared in front of her.

Lumio had arrived back in the country a few days before coming back to school. He felt well rested and ready for the year ahead. He knew it wasn't going to be easy but he also felt this would be a good year, he was doing fine in his classes, he had a great boyfriend and he'd been made prefect. The latter had been the biggest surprise and he was sure that it would be something good and productive for him to do. He had listened along to the sorting, but he wasn't that interested in it, students would go where they needed to and he knew that though important every place was as good as the other. when the food appeared he began putting things on to his plate.

Liusaidh was very excited about being back at school, if only for the little prank that she had in mind for her dormmates. She was very eager to get to her dorm, but of course she had to hold it together and wait, soon enough she would be able to do it but not quite yet. She noticed as she glanced around the table that Kalif junior had a little prefect badge and she thought that was very funny, Liusaidh could not wait to go annoy him about it. It had never mattered to Liusaidh about if she'd lose points, it wasn't going to now, not when such perfect opportunities lay in front of her. But mostly Liusaidh was just bored, bored as students were sorted and the headmistress spoke. She knew she'd tired to leave as quickly as possible at the first opportunity.

Branson couldn't believe he was a third year, the first two years had flown by, truly. Now he was a third year, he'd picked his classes and was eager for divination. He had worked hard so far and was sure he'd have a chance at making the team. He needed to work as hard now. He would need to ensure he had time for his writing and reading too. Though he liked playing quidditch a great deal he didn't want to not keep up his writing since if he had to pick between the two it would be that latter. He had followed the sorting ceremony closely, trying to guess where students would end up just by the look of them. Eventually though the last student had been sorted and the headmistress had welcomed them all. And then all his attention turned to the food which appeared.

Pixie liked being back at school. Going home was just...bad and loud..and the school comparatively was quiet. She was singled out a lot for her magic in amongst her non-magical siblings, and she hated each of them. She liked it here, she liked spell casting and doing witchy things. None of the mess of muggle life. She didn't like the great hall or these feasts and always put herself right at the very end of the table. She didn't pay attention to the ceremony in front of her and instead stayed focused on her hands, the chipped black nail polish. Eventually the food appeared and Pixie was already thinking about the first moment she'd be able to leave.

Eugene was hungry! He and his cousin had begun running out of money by the end of the holiday, in part because she wasn't working as much to look after him. He hoped that she'd be able to buy more stuff now he was gone, or make it last longer, but it meant that Eugene was very hungry by the time he got to the great hall. He watched the sorting ceremony eagerly but also couldn't wait for the food. He applauded and cheered for every Hufflepuff that joined them, thinking that the first years looked like an absolutely great bunch! And then finally! FINALLY! the food appeared. Eugene wasted no time in filling his plate and getting stuck in.

Seamus had been one of the last to be sorted and he was glaring at the sorting hat the whole time, his glare moved to the headmistress. He could spot his twin so far away on the ravenclaw table as he sat amongst slytherins. He didn't have wrong with slytherins but he was annoyed that the hat had split them up. Perhaps if only he'd been sorted first Hamish might've been able to join him. He couldn't believe they'd been split up, but he knew and had known the moment the hate had said Ravenclaw for Hamish. He had known. But that didn't mean he couldn't think the sorting hat was the worst and that the headmistress was it's co-conspirator. He glanced at the food as it appeared and knew he was going to have the worst time trying to find something he actually liked and another point against this feast.

Noel was very pleased being back. It was also strange since this was the last year, and he didn't want to think of an ending of this adventure yet. He wanted to make the year the best ever and try to combine all his stuff he needed to do. It was busy, being an chaser, headboy, co-president of brotherhood and managing relationships with friends. But he figured he could do that. As he entered the great hall he smiled and took an seat at the gryffindor table. He watched the younger students getting sorted, no one he knew this year. But he was wondering where his little sister would end up. She was the last of his side of the family to be sorted. Next to his cousins ofcourse. But than he would already been gone. So far he, Beaubelle and Liam were all sorted in a different house. So if Lovisa was sorted in Hufflepuff they all got the houses. But that was something for the future. As Professor Kingsley was announched he smiled in her direction. He hoped she was proud of him, and he wanted to stay that way. No Eric Holland would ruin anything anymore. As he saw his friends joining him he took some food and enjoyed the feast.

As soon as he'd sat down at the hufflepuff table all nerves had vanished. He had known they would, no matter which table he'd sat at, but they'd left so quickly it had been a little startling. The new hufflepuff would never have minded which house he ended up in, but he liked the look of this place and he knew about it too. He could be a hard worker, he could do that. The rest of the houses all seemed more unachieveable. But here he was. He listened intently to the headmistresses words, absorbing the names of the heads of houses and the rules she went over. And then looked to the food. He would let others go first and spend the time picking out what he wanted to eat.

Giselle made her way into the great hall. She would not stay long because she had plans. Big plans for this year. She had worked on her campaign and would speak to professors about it. Perhaps even the headmistress, if she could make it. Because it was not normal what quidditch did. Giselle was afraid what would happen if the sport continued. Half of the school was so dumb, with their stupid flags cheering on when people flew on brooms and got hit by an bludger. HOW WAS THAT FUN?! Giselle just could not believe it. And thinking about it already made her blood boil. As she took her seat she listened as the headmistress spoke. It would not take long or try-outs for Quidditch would begin. As the food was ready to grab she spotted Lius not too far from her. Giselle grinned as she saw some juice in front of her. '' Anyone want juice?'' She than said not to someone in particular.

Chrissy made her way to the Gryffindor table. As she walked pass she spotted Leia and she noticed an smile appearing on her face. She heard Leia made it to prefect. So she wanted to congratulate her ofcourse, but not now. She did tried to make eyecontact as she took her seat at the table. Since she met Leia she was glad to call her as her friend. It was kind of unexpected since they were so different, but Chrissy liked hanging out with her. As she took her seat next to Lumio she noticed his badge as well. '' Hey.. what congratulations dude. Prefect, wooh!'' She than said to him with an smile. She and Lumio hanged out some time, but it was long time since they actually had spoken to eachother that good. And both went their ways. Chrissy took an piece of chicken on her plate and took an bite out of it. This was goood stuff.
@Lumio Skey

As Crystal made her way inside. She could not believe it was already one year the day when she got sorted. She was so sad about not getting it to Gryffindor. But piece by piece she had found her way in Ravenclaw. Her head of house was kind of motherly, and she was glad with that. Also she had made friends, and Crystal could never believe that. As she took her seat at the Ravenclaw table she listened as the headmistress spoke and everything was done. When she looked in front of her she noticed Ajaccio, the prefect who brought her an rose. He had been very kind to her. So doubted for an moment, because perhaps he would have forgotten who she was. '' Hello.. Ajaccio'' The blonde than said shy with an smile. She found it hard to come up with more in an conversation so she just started to speak about the food. '' Do you like anything to eat, I mean here lies chicken if you like.'' She than said as she blushed an bit.
@Ajaccio Skey

Julien watched around him as he took his seat in the Great Hall. It was sorting time again and the headmistress had done her speech. The same old story, and ofcourse the forbidden forest would be interesting to some of the new students. To Julien it wasn't. He broke some rules by watching the stars late when he needed to be in bed, but that was all. Sometimes he could not sleep as well, having too many questions and hoping the stars would tell him some. But the search for his father was still not complete. He took some juice and food on his plate. And started to eat, and observe an bit around him.

Chloë was kind of glad to be back at school, especially since she hoped things would be a bit less busy this time around. Heading in for her sixth year also came with the painful reminder that some of her friends were a year older and that this was the last year she had left at the school with them. She had told herself not to worry about that too much though, pushing the thought away as she entered the hall and took her seat at the gryffindor table close to her friends. She curiously watched the sorting ceremony, enjoying the expressions on the first years' faces when they were sorted and clapping extra loudly for each new gryffindor. Chloë pretended to pay attention to what the headmistress was saying when the sorting hat was put away, but in reality she knew it was the same speech that she had heard for five years now so it didn't really matter if she actually listened or not. As long as it seemed like she did, she had to set sort of example after all. It wasn't untill the food appeared that she actually started paying attention to what was going on around her again.

This was it. This was her last year at Hogwarts and it felt really strange that she knew she wasn't going to come back again next year. Samantha had felt odd about it all. But the Hufflepuff knew that she was going to make this year the greatest as she could. Samantha sat at the Hufflepuff table, cheering and clapping when a new student was sorted into Hufflepuff. When the food had finally arrived, Samantha wasted no time and dug into her food.

Molly was super duper excited to be at Hogwarts! She was finally going to experience the magical world! She was so amazed at it all. Once Molly had been sorted to her house, she ran quickly towards the house table and took a seat. The new Hufflepuff looked skimmed up and down to find her brother, and once she did, Molly gave her a big fat wave to her brother, during the ceromony and she knew her brother was trying not to make any eye contact with her. But she didn't care. Once the ceremony was over and the boring speech had ended, it was finally eating time! The Great Hall began to be loud with chatter. Molly turned to the person next to her. "Hello! My name is Molly! What's your name?" Molly asked excitedly.

Nolan had a mixture of emotions when returning back to Hogwarts. Of course, the boy was excited to be back and see all of his friends. But his excitement had died down a little as his sister was now joining him and he knew that Molly was going to make his year miserable. Nolan watched the ceremony with anticipation and once his sister's name was called, the boy sat up quickly, hoping to merlin that she wasn't going to be sorted in Hufflepuff. But it had seemed that it just wasn't his day and his sister was in fact in the same house as him. He watched her as she sat down further down the table and knew that she was looking for him. Nolan then sees her waving wildly towards his way and Nolan tried his absolute best to make no eye contact with her. Nolan held back a groan and immediately covered his face with annoyance. This year was defiantly going to be a long year. However, the Hufflepuff was glad that the food arrived, hoping that it would distract him and talked amongst his friends instead.

It was now Issac's second to last year of Hogwarts, and Issac didn't particularly know how to feel about it right now. It was strange. He was now a sixth year and was going to leave soon. Both Sam and his cousin were now in their last year and they weren't going to be here next year. Issac leaned on his hand with boredom as he heard the headmistress' speech and watched the ceremony, clapping for those who were sorted in Gryffindor. It was basically the same thing over and over again, only that there were new students in and the old students are gone. It got boring with the same thing. Issac sighed in relief as the food had finally arrived and dug in. "Finally, food has arrived" Issac says to himself, chuckling a little, not minding if someone had heard him or not.

Xiuying was happy to return back to Hogwarts especially now that her siblings had finally joined her. She watched them excitedly as they were sorted and clapped proudly. Though she was a little sad that they weren't in the same house, she was still happy for them and knew that she had to congratulate them later and see how they were doing. After the long speech and ceremony, the food had arrived and Xiuying has glad that the food had arrived because her stomach had been rumbling for a while since the beginning of the ceremony. "Hey excuse me, could you please pass me those potatoes over there," Xiuying says, as she taps the person next to her and points towards the potatoes she was wanting.

In all honesty, it was no surprise that Valencia wasn't excited to be back at Hogwarts. The magic stuff was just really overwhelming and it hadn't really been what she thought it would be. Valencia had kept zoning in and out of the ceremony, honestly not paying attention to a word that was being said. However, the food suddenly popped up onto the table and Valencia knew that she was going to get the food before anyone else. She immediately went towards the plate filled with bread buns when noticed that someone else was grabbing the same bread bun at the same time as her. The girl blushed a little from embarrassment. "I'm so sorry, you can take that piece, I'll take a different bun" Valencia apologised with an embarrassed smile.
