MESSI is excited to bring you HNZ Thread Bingo (thank you Kris for the suggestion!).

First off, what is BINGO?
If you're unfamiliar with Bingo, it's a game where combinations of letters and numbers are called randomly. The most basic goal is to get five in a row based on your card, but many variations exist. Feel free to read more in this Wikipedia article.

So, what will make HNZ Thread Bingo so special?
Thread Bingo will consist of the same card made for all players made by MESSI. The goal in this case is to mark off every space on the card to achieve Bingo!

Who can play?
Any RPer can play with any character. You can use just one character or use all the ones you have. Characters of all ages and groups are welcome.

What's the timeline?
Thread Bingo is going to be self-paced. Whether it takes you a day, a year, or even 5 years, you can take as long as you need. You can also do it as many times as you'd like when you need inspiration. We hope to add a few challenges along the way for those who want them.

What do I win if I get Bingo?
All people who complete their Bingo Card should quote their Bingo Card in a new post in this thread when it is finished and put "BINGO" after the quote. Admin will then see it, and you will be awarded a special Bingo Trophy! The trophy can only be redeemed once. If you play more than once, you win the knowledge of knowing you made some creative threads each time

General Rules for Threads to Qualify in Your Bingo Card

• The first post in each thread must occur after the date of this post (so no using old threads).
  • The only exceptions to this rule include "As a student checking out the Electives Fair," "Participating in the Wheelbarrow Race," and "At a school club event." Replies in the event thread WILL count towards your card space.
• One of your characters must be the first poster/initiator in each thread, and there must be at least one reply from a different RPer (so no RPing with just yourself).
• The Bingo Card can be done in any order.
• Threads can be open or closed, take place in any IC area on the board, and happen during any special event unless noted otherwise on the Bingo Card.
• Each thread can only be used once meaning you cannot use one thread to knock off 2 or more squares.

How to Play Bingo

• Once you post a thread that checks off a square on your card, come back and edit your card, linking the post in that square.

After some discussion with MESSI, we decided that in the spirit of bingo, each thread can only be used once meaning you cannot use one thread to knock off 2 or more squares. This rule has also been added in the original post. Thanks for asking us to clarify, Verity!

Question, I didn't read this rule the first time so now I'm removing a bunch of things from my bingo card, but what about graduation guests/post in the stands? Are those an exception? With graduation you can post your own topic I think too as a guest but the stands I'm unsure about.

So it only counts if it's your own made thread?

EDIT: At a school club event also seems like one you can't start your own thread for unless you're running the club?

Mmm, great question! I guess Electives Fair, Wheelbarrow Race, School Club Event, and Quidditch Stands could be the exceptions. BUT you should have the ability to post in the Stands as well as graduation as a guest (so a new thread for graduation would count, but not posting in the Guests thread).

For the Club Event and Electives Fair, you could post a thread outside of the event (I think that was allowed for the Heta camping thing a few years back with approval). So, really, the Wheelbarrow Race seems like the only one where, since you're participating in the main thread, we'd have to consider if posting separate threads of pre- or post- race are acceptable...

I think the spirit of Bingo was creating original threads, but this is a valid question, Daphne.

Yes, for that one, your character would need to be the one who is hurt/is seeking treatment. But for like "when magic goes awry," that one could theoretically be a healer where treatment went wrong

Other person was @Archie Renner, and @Elliot Briar was the one who suggested the idea to MESSI originally.

I agree with that idea. I don't remember if we really discussed it or what was said. I'll go ahead and edit the rules to add these details.

EDIT: I updated the rules and code for the Bingo Card. Those 3 threads have a ⁺ to denote that they are different. However, I also added under "challenges" that you could count a thread for these if you were, for example, a club leader. But I realize not everyone would be able to do that. Maybe a challenge idea for those who want to play a Bingo a second time around?

According to this rule, they would not count if there is not at least one reply.

Tip/idea(?): I'm keeping the link to my Bingo card in my main's signature because I don't have to search for it but I thought it might be an interesting way to keep tabs on bingo if others are interested in joining in!
