Open Y39 End of Year Feast!

As usual, Eoin was eager to get away from Hogwarts and see his family again. He hoped he would have a good winter break and could spend time not even thinking about magic or his wand. He simply politely clapped as the Headmistress announce the winners of the House Cup and the top point earners. He wasn't really feeling very hungry, instead, his attention was on his book as he flicked through the pages, using his elbow to push his plate out of his way. He'd probably only stick around for a little bit before heading back to the dorm to finish packing.

It was a little annoying to find that Gryffindor had won the House Cup again. Even though it was Slytherin who had topped the highest point earners. It was about time that someone knocked them off the top spot. Though Rhys still clapped with everyone else just because he thought it was rude not to. He was quiet as he started grabbing things onto his plate, hearing the conversation about Styx retiring going on a little further down the table. Rhys hadn't really gotten much of a chance to interact with their Head of House, but he secretly hoped the next one was a little friendlier.

Jingyi was among one of the loudest cheerers as he found out Gryffindor had won the House Cup. While he didn't think he had contributed much to the win, it was still nice to win something. He was grinning as he settled into his seat at the House table, eager to get some food in him and eager to head back for the holidays as well. It would be nice to be able to see everyone again before he had to head back to school. Not to mention the break from having to do any boring homework.

Kiara still couldn't believe that she had finished her sixth year. She was able to apparate, she was legally an adult and she only had her NEWT year in front of her. Tho, it really didn't make her want to stay in her place, she noticed that Samantha was sitting alone and she remember that she had graduated. So she sneaked up to her with her food. "Hey, Sam! How are you?" she loudly whispered before breaking into a wide, cheerful smile.
@Samantha Jacobs

Anna was excited about the summer. She had enough of the school, she wanted to finally go to photoshoots, wanted to pose, and wanted to learn more about the tarot reading. However, she was still in school, so she was still about to spend time with someone she knew. "Heyo Flynn, how are you?" she sat next to him without asking whether he was okay with it because she felt like she already knew the answer but she had decided that she wanted to befriend him.
@Flynn North

It was already the end of the second year and Parker was overly excited to go home. He was sick of being at school, he was sick of magic, he was sick of seeing Charlie with his first-year, so Parker just wanted to go home. He had enough of this school. Tho, he sat at the Hufflepuff table and waited for Bella to come over. He put the food on and didn't touch it anymore.
@Elizabella Drake

Gwen was a bit sad that her first year at Hogwarts was over already. It had gone by fast and she hadn't done nearly as much as she had wanted to. At least she was pretty proud of the yearbook, even if she hadn't contributed that much. She listened to the headmistress, clapping for the person in her house who got the most points. She didn't know the girl, but it was pretty impressive. Gwen had heard Gryffindor always won the house cup, so it was a bit frustrating to see it happen again. Maybe next year would be different. She glanced up as she heard a nearby conversation about Professor Styx retiring. She frowned slightly, then glanced at a boy nearby. She recognized him from the paper and was fairly sure he was a year above her. "Is he really retiring?" She asked, frowning a bit. From what she'd heard, Styx had been here since the very beginning. It was a bit strange to imagine Hogwarts without him. Though Gwen wouldn't lie and say she would especially miss him. She had been pretty happy to have the much kinder Professor Drage for Defence.

@Rhys Garner

One thousand, two hundred and twenty-eight house points. How did a single person rack up so many without exploding under all the stress? They had to be taking every subject on the curriculum! Synnove would never be the top earner - she'd have bet her family's mansion on that. Perhaps she could be, if she tried a bit harder... but for what? She would never need to get a job if she didn't want one. And if she did want one, she certainly wouldn't need qualifications for it. Like Uncle Keevan said, it wasn't what you knew, it was who you knew.

Synnove helped herself to a bowl of stew from the tureen directly in front of her. Over the rim she observed that a Slytherin boy, Parker, had just sat down at the table. Was the food at his own not good enough? Or was he just colour-blind? This was the Hufflepuff table, for Hufflepuffs. Synnove shot him a dirty glare and pulled the orange juice jug out of his reach, just in case he'd wanted some.

@Parker Reed

River could not believe the year was over already. As always she seemed to spend most her time focusing on classes. It was just expected of her. She had wanted to stray off that path, but only actually took action at the end of the semester. Classes were exciting of course but the young Slytherin did not want to end up like her sister, obsessive. As long as she got the perfect marks, which was a challenge within itself, she could afford to relax and enjoy the magic around her. Maybe even socialize more.

River entered the Great Hall for the end of the year feast. She was worried of course. Her older sister was always stressed out about this sort of thing. They would announce house point winners. And the house cup of course. River knew that Gryffindor always won that thing, but the individual house points was always the thing her sister worried about most. River didn’t quite understand it. Of course it was nice to be recognized but a person could only do so much.

River took her seat at the Slytherin table. She smiled sweetly at those around her before the headmistress began. Of course Gryffindor had won the cup. River clapped before catching Emmaline’s gaze. Giving her sister a thumbs up she listened to the rest of the Headmistress’s speech. It was only when she heard her own name first that her eyes opened up wide. Wait what?! River thought unable to make an actual logically thought. She had gotten the most housepoints out of anyone. Now that just didn’t seem possible. She smiled at those that clapped for her, the moment ending too soon when she heard that the top Grffindor earner was not her sister.

Although River was slightly worried how this new revelation would affect her break, she could not believe she had done so well. She hates to admit it but she was proud. Maybe this is what she saw in her tea leaves, the recognition. She could not keep the smile off her face, as her hair was slightly brighter pink than when she sat down for the feast.

When the food arrived, River loaded up her plate. It would be awhile since she had a real meal. Most of her breaks were take out or instant food. The young girl did not try to make eye contact with her sister. For once she was allowed to think of herself, to enjoy the moment of success and deal with the aftermath later. River began eating as she listened to the conversation around her.

Branson was looking forward to heading home, he knew that next year would be important with both of his sisters at the school, but he was mostly looking forward to spending time with his books, and relaxing a little and seeing his mum. He liked seeing her and she would soon be the one family member he didn't see pretty much every day. Branson glanced to the head mistress as the woman began the usual proceedings, and even though he applauded for everyone, there wasn't much of interest for him there, so he did end up zoning out a bit, thinking mostly about where he believed his sisters might end up. He hoped perhaps Ravenclaw like him, but he didn't think it that likely. The food appeared and Branson was broken out of his thoughts and he just began picking what he wanted his first course to be.

Pixie really hated these feasts but she knew these were particularly difficult to skip. It wasn't like the halloween stuff where one could be elsewhere, everyone was at the end of year feast, like they were at the start of year feast. She was able to hang back and get the very end of the table. She kept her gaze away from the front, just messing around with her fork as the head mistress spoke, going over the top points and who won. It didn't matter to Pixie at all. She did not care much about it. She was glad when the food appeared, knowing she'd be able to eat a few things before being able to duck out.

Eugene had had quite the year when he thought back on it. He had his band, he had Accio, and he had good friends. He'd made new friends and deepened the bond with several of his current friends. All in all, Eugene was very happy with his year. He wished that Manaia hadn't had his parents divorce and that sadness, but aside from that, and really it hadn't happened to him, it had been a good year. Eugene had so much he wanted to tell his cousin about, so many stories to tell her. Eugene was sat amongst his dormmates and cheered loudly for the winning house, they'd come close, but he knew it would be poor sportsmanship to not applaud. He cheered for all the top points earners and felt rather surprised with how many more, certainly, he knew he could earn if he put more work in. Though Eugene didn't think he needed to since he had music anyway. The food appeared and he was immediately grabbing bits and pieces that he wanted to try and share with those around him.

Seamus was not particularly looking forward to going home, being at school was so much easier than being at home. He knew that Hamish wouldn't mind heading home, and Seamus was keen to help his brother at home and make sure he was more ready for the next year of this class, since he didn't think it would be good for his brother to continue to not sleep well. The slytherin wasn't interested in what was being said, and was glad when it was all done and he could begin getting food, he was still very picky about what he ate. He could hear people talking about his head of house retiring but he'd barely seen the man so he was not interested in joining that discussion.

Leonardo Orr wasn't sure if he'd describe his first year at Hogwarts a success but it hadn't gone horribly, he just knew too that it definitely could've gone a whole lot better than it had. Leo hadn't made quite the friend he'd hoped, but he had some almost friends, and he was fairly confident that Felix was an almost friend, perhaps a little one sidedly because Leo was sure that Felix probably just thought him odd. But he'd managed most of his classes and could at least admit that in some ways it had been fun. he knew now too what to expect for the celebrations and would work to improve his skills at them. He didn't applaud for anyone or any house, not feeling a great need too, and the way some people cheered made him not want to either, but finally the food appeared and he was able to just get stuck in.

Aisa had never cared much about the end-of-year feast, but it seemed like a bigger deal now that it was the final one for her. She sat at the Gryffindor table and listened to the headmistress as she spoke to them. She didn't really know many of the people who got most points, most of them were younger students. The only one she recognized was Minnie. When the food arrived, Aisa sighed softly before grabbing some things. She glanced up at the ceiling, she would miss it.

Eric had mixed feelings about this feast. He was sort of glad to be rid of Hogwarts, it wasn't like he really loved being at school or anything. But life after Hogwarts was pretty uncertain and that scared him. He didn't have grades to do anything worthwhile and was pretty sure he wouldn't last at any respectable job anyway. He had been kicked out of sports teams and out of schools for as long as he could remember, after all. He had changed over the years, he could admit that, but he still didn't think he could just get a ministry job or something. Even if his grades had permitted it. Eric sat with some of his roommates, the ones he could deal with without wanting to strangle them most of the time. But his gaze was often fixed on the Ravenclaw table. He wished he could sit with Minnie. When she was called for most points in Ravenclaw, Eric cheered loudly for her, not caring that he got some weird looks. When the food arrived, Eric loaded his plate. He was starving, and at least the food at these feasts was usually good.

Lucas had had a bit of a weird year. For a few weeks, he had been the star Quidditch player of the Hufflepuff team. But the last game had kind of changed things. They had won, but it wasn't his victory. Lucas hoped he could make up for it next year. He sat at the Hufflepuff table and listened as the professor spoke to them. When she mentioned the Hufflepuff person with the most points, a girl nearby said it was her. Lucas looked up and shot her a smile. "Oh, congratulations." He said. "That's impressive." The food appeared and Lucas grabbed some of his favorites. He'd miss the Hogwarts food over break.

@Estella Fuentes

Kas slouched against the table as the usual end of year stuff got underway, cradling his chin in his hand tiredly. It'd been a long semester and Kas was ready for the break for once. Now that he could apparate he wondered how weird it'd be to immediately show up at the Menagerie when he got home, but for now Kas was just happy to have a break from school and all the mess it entailed. He pointed did not look at Connor, glad that some younger students were more invested in their studies than he was so Kas didn't have to hear his name called out either. Instead, he busied himself with his food, sparing a few moments as he loaded up his own plate to try and sneak as much food on Freya and Lucas' plates as he could without them noticing.

Sydney felt like she was in a holding pattern. She just had to get through this last meal, last night, last 10 minutes. It was driving her crazy and yet knowing she was nearly out of here made it all the more bearable. She didn't even mind the usual pageantry of the end of year feast as much, though she made sure to roll her eyes as much as possible as Gryffindor were announced the house cup winners again. Who cared, she thought dully. Like anyone would remember this in a year or two. Finally it was just the feast left and Sydney grabbed some food, turning to Daintree as she poured herself a drink and raising her goblet to him. "Here's to nearly being out of here," she said, taking a sip. She was sure Daintree was just as keen to get out here as she was, and while Sydney wouldn't exactly miss him, he hadn't been terrible company over the years. @Daintree Vaskevold

Emma was pretty hungry, so she was pretty excited about the feast. She sat with Issac at the Gryffindor table, cheering along with him for Gryffindor. She had gotten pretty used to Gryffindor winning the house cup and she hoped they could keep it up for at least one more year until she had graduated. After the points were announced they started eating. Emma laughed at the amount of food on Issac's plate and stole some of it, grinning at him. "Are you worried you're going to starve?" She asked him teasingly. "We're meeting up over break, right?" She added.

@Issac Jacobs

Ryan had been caught up spending the last few weeks dismantling a sneakoscope that he'd barely noticed exams had ended, which was objectively a great thing. Maybe not for his grades perhaps, but he always hated exams, it was just rehashing stuff he already knew or hadn't paid attention to, though at least with the year ending, he could get home and see his parents. Ryan was tempted to pull out the sneakoscope again as the end of year speeches were were underway, but he could practically feel Nicole's glare if he even tried getting bits and pieces everywhere while people were supposed to be eating, so he busied himself watching Augustus instead, who seemed notably distracted again tonight. "You're staring again," he said mildly, moving to pick at his food as the feast proper began. Augustus' whole thing with Addison was kind of annoying now, all he seemed to want to do we talk about her or look at her or hang out with her and it was putting Ryan off truth be told. "She's just eating, you know," he added, pointing his fork at Augustus for emphasis. @Augustus Westwick

Angel was always mildly alarmed to find another school year had passed. With the addition of Amanita, not to mention trying to make sure his OWL and NEWT kids didn't spontaneously combust under the pressure, the second half the semester always seemed to pass in a blink. Angel sat at the staff table as Professor Alicastell addressed the school, doing his best to look attentive as she announced the House Cup and top points winners, clapping appropriately. It didn't surprise him that Gryffindor had snagged the cup again; he may not have many GRyffindors in his classes, but he'd seen enough of them slogging through classes to know they were a force to be reckoned with. He did smile quietly when Minnie got top points for Ravenclaw. She was a clever witch no doubt, she'd do fine out of school he was sure. But Angel pushed the thought of the year ending and students leaving from his mind as the feast began, moving to get into his meal and chat companionably with his neighbors and Josephine until it was finally time for him get a break from school himself once the night ended.

When Estella heard someone congratulate her at the Hufflepuff table, she looked over to see one of the prefects in the year above her. "Thank you!" she exclaimed with a smile. All of the Hufflepuffs were so nice and she was glad that she was receiving some recognition for her efforts. "You're in the year above me, right? What's your name?" She thought it wouldn't hurt to make a friend and the boy definitely seemed nice enough. Better yet, if she made friends with someone who was older than her then maybe they could help her with some classes. After all, he had just completed the courses that she was heading into and Estella was already starting to feel the pressure.

@Lucas Fletcher

Bella was not to hurry and she hoped find @Louis Alcott for some moment say hi and then go to her brother. She hoped see him her hand was some sandwiches for later time if she get hungry and now she wanted just say hello to her best friend and then go Parker. ''Hi, Louis! I hope you have 5 minutes for me'' She smiled. Bella looked for Parker Reed to. @Parker Reed and where he is.

Daintree took his drink as Sydney turned to him and raised it with her. "Here's to never seeing each other again," he replied as he then also took a sip, it was a bit of a joke, but he would be very surprised if Sydney made any effort after this to remaining in his life and he probably wouldn't make much of an effort either. Daintree didn't regret any part of his sorta friendship with Sydney but they'd be out of here very soon and he wasn't sure their paths would cross again.
@Sydney Townsend
