Open The Stands

Ryan didn't go to games much. Or ever, really, except that one time Nicole had brought him along. But it hadn't been a completely terrible time, and since Finn was actually playing on the Ravenclaw team now, he felt he should probably check it out. If only see what all the fuss was about. He could always just leave if he hated it. It looked like Finn was staying on the ground for today though, and Ryan slumped down in his seat, deciding maybe he could be more productive with a bit of people watching if the game didn't prove to be all the interesting.

Michael had been a little disappointed by Gryffindor's loss during the previous game, but seeing as he was a former Hufflepuff, Michael had another team to confidently root for. He had spray painted his hair yellow so it look like, well, a giant yellow curly mess. But fellow students would have no confusion about who he was rooting for. Jumping around the bleachers, he saw Kas in the distance and snuck up behind him. "Guess who?" he whispered in spooky ghost voice. @Kasim Safir

Sully was committing the cardinal sin of big brotherhood here, being late to his little brother's first big Quidditch game, but he'd wanted popcorn and that had proven much harder to achieve than he'd thought. He was still slightly singed as he scrambled up into the stands, grinning as he spotted René down on the pitch before making a beeline to where he'd seen Chloë and Adorah. Newt was off messing with his boyfriend too, but Sully gave them a wave in case he wanted to come join them.

"Ladies! Who wants popcorn," he announced, dropping down next to Chloë and giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "I popped it myself and everything. Only set fire to some of it," he said, holding up the bag proudly. Sully had been sure a heat spell would work just as well as any muggle microwave but maybe that had been a bit ambitious. He was glad he had it though, as the game was already off to a great start with the bludgers flying. "Go, Amy!" he cheered as his friend grabbed the quaffle. @Chloe Thompson @Adorah Zumwalt

With so many friends on the Hufflepuff team in starting positions, there was no way Harper could miss today's Quidditch game. The last game had reminded her of how much she enjoyed watching sports. It wasn't quite the same as watching football or even rugby, but it was still fun. Now that Gryffindor was out of the running for first place, Harper hoped Hufflepuff would take the spot. She knew how hard her friends practiced; they deserved it.

Wearing a yellow jumper and black leggings, Harper made her way into the stands. Last game, she'd invited Emmaline to join her at future games, and she wondered if her roommate would show up. The match started, and Harper cheered as Lillith quickly took possession of the quaffle. Unfortunately, she missed. But Harper had no doubt that she and Hunter would get the quaffle back soon and start scoring.

Kas flinched when someone whispered in his ear, shoes clattering against the floor as he rocked forward, indignantly trying to get away from the sound. "Oh, why I am surprised that just happened," Kas said as he turned to see Michael, wiping a palm across his ear defensively and giving Michael's hair a single, pointedly raised eyebrow. "And why do you look like a dandelion? Or like you've had a terrible cheese related accident," he asked flatly, moving over in a move Kas felt was very magnanimous, to let Michael sit down. Hufflepuff had managed to get possession first, but they'd missed their first shot at goal. And the bludgers were really flying. Maybe it would be an interesting game today. Assuming Kas could watch it without worrying Michael was about to pull anything else. @Michael Newton

Chloë was watching the teams enter the field, keeping an eye on her friends when Adorah sat down next to her. "Yeah, sure!" She nodded in response, knowing they'd both probably be paying a lot of attention to how Juniper was playing anyways. And it was always more fun to be watching with friends. Chloë smiled when Sully joined them, excitedly grabbing some popcorn but taking a second to inspect it closer when he mentioned setting fire to it. "Right so if I get food poisoning that's on you." She joked, before popping the popcorn into her mouth anyway as she watched the game start off. "Juniper's doing pretty good huh?" She nudged Adorah when she noticed Juniper hit a couple of bludgers. Sure, they didn't hit the target they were meant to be but still. @Adorah Zumwalt @Solomon Tofilau

Michael tried to give his hair a ruffle before realizing it was hard as a rock and shrugged as he took a seat. "I happpen to be supporting your team, silly," he said with a smile and watched as Ravenclaw scored. "Boo!" he shouted and then snickered, looking at Kas. "Why aren't you decked out in yellow? You gotta show some spirit there, kiddo." Michael looked out at the pitch, trying to follow the game as it moved rather quickly. @Kasim Safir

Adorah was glad to watch the game with some people she knew rather than sitting alone. As Sully approached with popcorn, the Ravenclaw gave him a gentle smile. "I'm okay, thanks," she said, not really wanting to eat burnt popcorn. Her sister was doing rather well, even though Adorah could tell from a distance that she seemed to be frustrated. "She really is. I always worry about her getting hurt," she said, feeling back that Chloë had already gotten hit. No one seemed to be off limits in this game. Adorah gave a small cheer when Ravenclaw scored and then looked back at her friends. "Are you cheering for Hufflepuff, Sully?" @Solomon Tofilau @Chloe Thompson

Casper hadn't really bothered with Quidditch before, but Sawyer was playing today. Casper hadn't felt like he'd had a friend in a long time. Sawyer was nice, and he had made their art club meetings seem a little less lonely. Casper had shown up for support, though it appeared to be pointless as Sawyer was still on the ground for this match. He waved shyly, though he didn't know if @Sawyer Carnahan saw him. He folded his hands in his lap then, watching the game idly.

Charlie had been sitting quietly, watching the game, and taking notes. It wasn't as exciting as the other game, Blake was a personal favorite of his now, along with Jasper, and he was eager for the next Slytherin game. He kind of liked the keeper for the Ravenclaw team, Lars? He was doing well, as was Juniper. He hardly paid attention to the others around him, focused on the game.

Sully made let out a gasp as Chloë’s comment about his popcorn, mock offended at her insult to his cooking, though he was quickly distracted as the game carried on. “Juniper's killing it,” Sully agreed appreciatively, grimacing as another Hufflepuff took a hit. “At this rate, René might actually get to play,” he added with a laugh, though he felt terribly for poor Amy out there. “Hey, at least she’s the one with the bat, right?” He said when Adorah mentioned being worried. “Yeah, technically. My brother’s on the team and all, aye. Plus Amy,” he said, groaning in sympathy as Amy missed her shot at goal. @Chloe Thompson @Adorah Zumwalt

Skylar had always loved attending Quidditch matches, and now that she was part of the Gryffindor team, that only increased her love for the sport and made it all the more fun to watch. Even though Gryffindor had lost their match against Slytherin, Skylar hoped she'd see who they'd be up against in the future matches. Arriving on the pitch she'd kept her usual comfortable clothes on but added a yellow ribbon to her hair, in a subtle show of support to Hufflepuff. She didn't really know many of the players on the two teams, but she had met Lillith over the holidays and decided she may as well support her since she'd been really fun to talk to. She'd arrived a bit late so she saw that the match was already in full swing, so she quickly glanced around for a spot she could sit in. Noticing that her friend @Harper Alston was already sitting down, she made her way over to her, pleased that she'd found a friend to sit with, since not all of her friends particularly enjoyed Quidditch. "Hey! Nice to see you here!" she smiled at her, before taking a seat. "How's the match going so far? It seems like I've missed a lot!" she laughed, happy that she'd at least made it in time before someone caught the snitch.

Kas just raised another eyebrow at Michael, wondering if he could get his hand stuck in his hair if he tried hard enough. Not something he wanted to test. “This about as decked as I get,” Kas said, motioning to a Hufflepuff pin on his jacket. “Go team,” he said flatly, though he did offer Michael a small, if fond smile. Sometimes he had to wonder what Michael saw in him. He was all big emotions and bravado. And while Kas had plenty of bravado, his was far more subtle and bitter. But Kas didn’t want to think about that too much right now, grateful for the distraction as the Ravenclaw beaters continued the barrage of bludgers. “Man, if someone doesn’t catch the snitch soon I think Ravenclaws just going to try and bludgeon us to death." @Michael Newton

The game was well underway, but Ryan was struggling to stay interested. There were certainly a lot of bludgers going around, but Finn wasn't the one doing any of the hitting, so it didn't really matter to Ryan. His people watching was marginally more interesting, even if most of the students around him where just cheering or booing in equal turns. He did spot a younger kid nearby scribbling something down in a notebook and scooted closer, looking over his shoulder curiously. "What are you writing down?" he asked, tilting his head to try and read the boy's handwriting. @Charlie Helkovaara

Charlie was a little surprised when he heard a voice, glancing up for only a moment before looking back out to the field. "I'm an intern for the Monthly," he replied simply. "I'm taking notes of the games, I'm covering the Quidditch article," he explained, watching one of the beaters a moment before looking to the seekers. @Ryan Fisk

Things were not going well for Hufflepuff. Harper winced as both Tilly and Hunter got hit by bludgers — twice. Who had decided that adding iron balls to a sport involving flying was a good idea? She was distracted from her thoughts by a familiar voice. "Hey!" Harper smiled at the sight of her friend and moved over to give Skylar more room. "You actually haven't missed that much. Ravenclaw's scored once, but that's about it. There have been a ton of bludger hits though. Hufflepuff's not doing too great." She winced as the seeker got hit again.

Skylar seemed to be dressed in her normal clothes. "Are you here to scout the competition? Or are you supporting one of the teams?" Harper asked curiously. She'd already spotted Chloë and Sully in the stands, so maybe the Gryffindor team had decided to show up today to analyze the competition. A shout came from the crowd, and Harper turned back to the field just in time to see Lillith steal the quaffle while upside-down. She laughed, delighted that Lillith had turned the little flying trick they'd practiced last year into an actual Quidditch skill. "GO LILLITH!" The shot got blocked, but hopefully the steal marked the start of some Hufflepuff success.

@Skylar Anderson

Seeing that she'd come in time to at least watch some of the match, Skylar smiled at Harper as she told her what had happened so far. She was about to reply when she saw the seeker get hit again, and she grimaced, knowing how much it had to hurt. "Well a bit of both I guess!" she said with a laugh as Harper asked what she was doing here. She came to each match anyway, but this time she had more motivation, seeing as she might have to play against some of these people later on. But then again she was also supporting Hufflepuff, mostly because of Lillith. "I don't actually have that many yellow clothes but at least I have a yellow ribbon!" she smiled as she turned her head a bit to show it off. And just as if on cue she turned back to see Lillith fly upside down and steal the quaffle. So that's what she meant when she said she'd fly upside down. "Yeah, go Lillith!!" she shouted, proud of her new friend. Her face fell a bit in disappointment as she saw her shot was blocked, but the steal had been great anyway!

Wondering whether she'd be able to learn it too, she turned back to Harper to ask for her opinion, but was interrupted by some commotion, and turned back around to watch. And just in time as she saw the Ravenclaw seeker catch the snitch. "No!" she couldn't help but gasp as she saw it. She'd wanted Hufflepuff to win, and knew Lillith would be disappointed. But... maybe that meant they'd play against each other in the next match? Well, she probably wouldn't play because of the other chasers on her team, but their teams would go up against each other at least which could be fun!

Amelia was rocking back and forth in her seat, waiting for the game to start. She hadn't been able to find Michael in the stands, so she was sitting alone, as close to the front as she could manage. Amelia booed loudly when the Hufflepuff beater hit their seeker, Flynn North. But then, the Gryffindor captain returned the favor, smashing the Hufflepuff seeker with a bludger. Amelia jumped up from her seat. "YEAH! GET 'EM!" she hollered.

Isaiah was stoked to watch more quidditch, eagerly having made his way up the stands as quickly as he could so he would still be able to claim a spot at the front. He wasn't exactly sure how, but somehow he managed and he grinned proudly at the thought. Zay watched as the game started, cheering loudly when his cousin managed to score yet flinching after when he saw their seeker get hit. That for sure wasn't in the gameplan he had in mind. Not that he had anything to say about that, but that didn't mean he didn't have specific ideas about how the match should go. He watched on curiously as the gryffindor captain seemed to be.. talking to the hufflepuff seeker? He grinned when he watched the boy smash a bludger into the seeker quickly after though, hoping they'd be able to take him out which would at least give his house a bigger shot at winning.

As Giselle made her way to the pitch she ignored people around her and pushed some away so she could get through. And found an spot to look at the game, or rather protest at the game. She heard the signal that the game began and the people went of. She spotted Noel her cousin, traitor who played quidditch. Just as her brother Gabriel. As the gryffindor seeker got hit and later on the hufflepuff one she put her sign in the air.
'' STOP THE BLUDGERS! STOP THE VIOLENCE! STOP WITH QUIDDITCH!'' She than yelled. The game was just started and those stupid bludgers were already on the loose. It was just not ok to approve such an thing. And looking at the bludgers let her fear come in.

Adorah was pretty nervous about today's game, knowing that it would prove to be difficult for her sister and numerous friends. However, many seemed to have a lot of confidence in Ravenclaw, and she figured adding her cheering in couldn't hurt. As Adorah took a seat by herself on the stands, she sat nervously, give a loud whoop when she saw Juniper come on the field.

As salty as she was about Hufflepuff's loss to Ravenclaw last term, Tilly still wanted the eagles to win. She could cheer for Sawyer, and she had to admit that Ravenclaw had some wicked good players. Tilly looked up to Juniper as a beater, even if she didn't know her that well, and she had to admit that Minnie Calida was a good seeker. Besides, Slytherin deserved to be knocked down to earth. It was simply boring that they won every game they played. After Hufflepuff's win against Gryffindor, she wanted Ravenclaw to smash the snakes. This had to be the underdog year.

Tilly had borrowed a Ravenclaw scarf from her friend. She sat in the stands impatiently, eager to wave the blue and bronze and cheer for Ravenclaw at the top of her lungs. The Hufflepuff couldn’t wait for the game to start. Tilly quietly hoped Giselle would decide to take the day off, or at least protest away from her. She hadn’t seen the Slytherin yet.

Charlie made his way to the stands, taking a seat by himself. He didn't expect any company, but he wasn't opposed. He had his notebook out and his scarf on. He was personally interested in both teams winning, though he highly suspected Blake Irons would win again. Still, it would be interesting to see Minnie Calida beat him. He swung his legs idly, watching the pitch as the teams milled about on the ground.

Elliot had mixed feelings about today's match. He wanted Lars to do well, he always did, and it would be a bonus to see Blake finally lose a match after all these years. But if the game went just so, Hufflepuff still had a chance at scraping in at second place, and Elliot knew he'd feel a lot better about leaving the team if they could manage that.

Trying to force the thought out of his brain, Elliot shifted through the crowd, spotting Adorah and making his way over to join her. "Hey, you here to cheer on your sister?" He said, more as a greeting than a sincere question. He watched as the game got started, seeing Blake already immediately on the hunt for the snitch and frowning. @Adorah Zumwalt
