Open The Stands

Nicole was excited for Quidditch season to be starting up again, hopeful that Slytherin would managed to win the cup again this year. There was nothing better than being 'on' the winning team, even if the final match against Beauxbatons last year had made her a little queasy. Decked out in her Slytherin green, Nicole made her way up to the stands, looking for a good spot that wasn't too close. Nervously fussing with the green and silver ribbons she'd tied in her hair, Nicole glanced around hoping to spot someone she knew.

Nikko almost decided not to go to the first game of the year and it wouldn't have been that odd. It wasn't like his house was even playing. Mostly he wasn't sure how he would feel watching a game now that he hadn't made the team. But in the end, if he didn't go he couldn't write about it for the newspaper. And that was better then nothing. He looked around, trying to find someone he recognized. Eventually he spotted one of Emma's friends he had played hide and seek with last year. He had embarrassingly got stuck in a closet and he hoped she didn't quite remember that part. "Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" he asked, pointing to the empty space next to her. @Nicole Fisk

Lars wasn't sure why he was here, but here he was. He supposed it was smart to watch the other teams as one of the captains, and didn't doubt that she was somewhere in the stands taking notes of their strategies. But Lars had gone to every match Elliot had played, so... here he was again. He watched the small figures from up high, spotting Elliot easily in the Hufflepuff group. His gaze then moved to Blake on the other side. They would be competing against each other directly, and Lars was curious how things would go. He reluctantly hoped Elliot would win, though he felt fairly neutral about it.

Nicole turned her head, feeling the satisfying shift of her ponytail when a boy she recognized spoke to her. "Oh, sure you're.. Nikko? Right?" She said, remembering him as one of Emma's friends. His name had been similar enough to hers that she was able to keep track. Plus it had been pretty memorable when no one had been able to find him for so long playing hide and seek. "Who're you cheering for?" @Nikko Blackwood

After last year's weird Quidditch season, Kas was hoping for something more exciting this year. Freya was notoriously hard to track down for things like this, but Kas was sure she'd show up to join them eventually. In the meantime, he'd dragged Lucas along to keep him company while he tried to heckle the bludgers. Plus, it was always fun seeing what rules he could make up to trick him. "Wonder if we'll see any haversacking today," He said brightly, grabbing a seat and stretching out enough to save Freya a spot or at least stop the person next to him bumping him every time anyone scored. @Lucas Fletcher

With Daintree on the Slytherin team as a full player and not just an alternate, Tres had even more reason to come and watch the game than usual. She wore a silver dress and a knee length green coat, one that she'd purchased especially for times like these, before heading up to the stands. She spotted a couple of people she recognised although even if she hadn't, Tres would have happily stood by herself too. "Hi Nicole!" she waved to the brunette, moving past her and taking a seat as the match was about to begin. She didn't want to get in Nicole's way too much if she were talking to other friends, and besides, Tres wanted to make sure that she had her eyes on Daintree. He was going to be amazing.

Lucas was having strong mixed feelings about today's match. He wanted to root for his house, but it was hard for him to ignore that he had been rejected from the team. He couldn't help but think he could have been with the rest of them in yellow robes, but instead he was up here with Kas. He sighed and slumped in his seat. He shrugged as the boy mentioned some sort of foul he vaguely remembered, not wanting to admit he wasn't entirely certain what it was again. It was no wonder he wasn't on the team, he barely knew anything. "Are you rooting for Connor to play?" He asked him, knowing one of the new alternates was Kas' roommate.

@Kasim Safir

Nikko nodded and said a quick thanks before sitting down. “And you're Nicole?” he said, but more as a question than anything else. He wasn’t always the best at remembering names but he was pretty sure this time. He was watching the players get ready for the game when she asked him who he would be cheering for. Nikko hadn’t really thought about it, he was mostly here to observe and take notes for the paper. “Uh..slytherin of course.” he said with a small shrug and gave her a reserved smile. @Nicole Fisk

Nicole was pleased that Nikko had managed to remember her name, she was always worried she wasn't memorable enough for people to keep track. She looked up when Tres went past, wearing a super cute dress that made Nicole suddenly wonder if she could have dressed up more. "Hi Tres!" She returned brightly, a bit sad Tres moved on to sit elsewhere. But Tres was older and dating one of the players so Nicole couldn't blame her much. "Oh, good choice," She said to Nikko when he said he was supporting Slytherin, giving him a small smile.

Kas was disappointed when Lucas was looking too mopey to be fun to tease, propping his heel up on the seat below him so he could rest his chin on his knee. "Oh yeah, Connor," He said, somehow already having forgotten how happy Connor had been about making the team. "There he is, woo, go Connor," Kas said vaguely, spotting Connor down on the pitch. "I think his brother would have a heart attack if Connor actually got into the air," Kas said slowly, frowning at how Eric still thought Connor would break if anyone so much as sneezed at him. "So yeah, hopefully Connor gets to play," He finished brightly. @Lucas Fletcher

Lucas snorted as Kas seemed to have forgotten about his roommate. He had studied the list of the team a lot after he had been rejected, and knew everyone on the team by name. He frowned a bit at Kas' next words, tilting his head as he looked at the older boy. "I thought you were friends with his brother?" He asked him. He knew Connor's brother was a Gryffindor with a reputation for fighting a lot, and he was sure he'd seen him with Kas. "I wish I could play." He muttered longingly.

Tilly climbed the stairs to the top of the stands. She loved watching Quidditch and wouldn't miss a game, even though she was still figuring out how to fly a broomstick herself. After a quick look around, she realized she was the only first-year there so far. Two older Hufflepuff boys were in the stands, but she didn't know them, and wasn't sure if they would want to sit by a firstie.

Oh, whatever- it's just Quidditch, and we're here to cheer our team, Tilly thought to herself. She cast aside her nervousness and took a seat near the two, although not directly next to them. Tilly nodded in greeting and made herself comfortable. She wrapped her scarf around her neck and waited anxiously for the game to start. @Kasim Safir @Lucas Fletcher

Finn wanted to see the first Quidditch game of the season. He had made plans with Penny @Penny Wills and together they were going to watch the game. He wanted to see how they played here and maybe learn a thing or two. He wasn't cheering anyone on, he didn't give a flying monkey's ass about Hufflepuff and he didn't feel anything for Slytherin either. Hopefully Penny could stay out of trouble for once, he was done saving her. Finn grinned and thought of the bad luck she somehow seemed to have.

On her way down to the Quidditch stadium, Penny had fallen over in the wet mud and was undeniably filthy. She tried to scrape off as much of the mud with her bare hands as she could, running them across her robes and tossing gobs of wet soil back to the ground. She repeated the process a few times before accepting that this was the best she was going to get. There was not time to return to the Slytherin Common Room and not let @Finn Lockley think she had stood him up before the game. She continued on, hopeful that everyone would be too busy watching the Quidditch game to notice her muddy clothes. She spotted Finn, "Hey Finn! Are you ready to secretly cheer for Slytherin?" She joked, "Quick, let's get seats!" She waved him forward, hurrying towards the stands to try not to give him enough time to see her clothes.

Penny soon arrived and her clothes looked to be stained with mud. Finn looked her over quickly, but she did look fine. It earned her a smile. When Penny said he should secretly cheer for Slytherin he grinned. ''Nah, if they see me doing that they are never going to let me on the Hufflepuff team next year.'' Finn mused ''I gotta be incognito with my hate.'' Finn didn't know if they took your house love in consideration, but he was pretty sure they wouldn't let a Hufflepuff hater on the team. Finn walked with Penny to a couple of empty seats and looked at the game. The game was in full swing and Finn had no clue were to look.

Skylar was so exited to watch the first Quidditch Match of the season, though her house wasn't playing she had still come to watch. She was secretely rooting for Hufflepuff, mostly because Slytherin had won last time, but the people in Hufflepuff were always really nice anyway, so she hoped they'd win. She glanced around the stands, but didn't see any of her friends there yet, so she gave a small shrug and went to sit somewhere close to the front of the stands, hoping to get a good spot to watch from. While she waited for the match to begin, her mind drifted to the possibility of her playing Quidditch someday. She knew it was ridiculous and would likely never happen, but she could always hope! She'd love to play Chaser, she though working in a team to consistently score points was better than the other positions for her, she found both seeker and keeper too stressful since the game relied heavily on your play, and she didn't particularly want to play beater, she thought the idea of deliberately trying to hurt people with a hard flying ball was just plain mean. So yeah, she guessed Chaser was the best position for her, would she ever get the chance to play.

Glancing up to see if anything new was happening, she spotted some of her friends coming closer and eagerly waved to them, hoping they'd see her. But even if they didn't, she wans't too fussed about spending the match by herself, at least she'd get the opportunity to watch the players and their tactics more closely, to heighten her chances of being a part of the Gryffindor Quidditch team once she got older. But if they did come over, at least she'd be able to join in the spirit properly and cheer on Hufflepuff throughout the game. Which reminded her, "When on earth is the match finally going to take place?" she wondered aloud.

Good, Finn hadn’t noticed her muddy robes, or he was too sweet to mention it. She laughed when he got defensive about cheering for Slytherin secretly. @Finn Lockley had a Puff complex that Penny enjoyed winding him up about it from time to time. He had been sorted into Hufflepuff because he was a nice guy, but there was more to him than that and he hated his house. “No surely not! The Hufflepuff's are all really nice, they'll let you on the team if you play good Quidditch and work hard.” Penny commented, “You don't have anything to worry about.” They got their seats and watched the game begin.

Chloë had to admit it felt weird heading up the stairs to the stands. The previous two years she would've just gone and watch the games to enjoy watching it, but now things were different. Now she was part of a team and she would be watching their competition, people she'd have to play against later on. Nevertheless, she was excited for the season to start. The gryffindor sat down at an empty spot, focussing her eyes on the players entering the field. Within a second they landed on one player in particular, her cousin. Chloë had expected Paige to try out for sure as she had always been a quidditch fan, but she hadn't known whether or not her cousin had actually made the team. It was clear now that she had and whilst Chloë still wasn't on good terms with her cousin she was going to keep an eye on her in this game nonetheless, curious as to how she would do.

"I am," Kas said simply when Lucas asked about him being friends with Eric. But Eric could use a little wake up call in his opinion. But instead of dwelling on that, Kas decided to dwell on Lucas' next comment. "Oh yeah, didn't you try out and stuff?" He said absently, distracted as the game started and Hufflepuff managed to get posession. They were also joined by a younger girl who sat down nearby right before the game started and Kas gave her a little half-wave hello, returning his gaze again to the field as Hufflepuff managed to miss their first shot. "Ah. Interesting strategy there. Building up the Slytherin's confidence no doubt," He said sagely, watching as Slytherin took possession. @Lucas Fletcher @Tilly Drage

Jacob never missed the opportunity to see some quidditch and scout the competition. Today was no exception. He was seated in the stands, wearing his Gryffindor t-shirt with no plans to cheer on either team but ready to see a really good game.

Liusaidh loved quidditch, she knew she wouldn't bother with the house team, how boring it would be to have to take part in a sport but, it didn't mean she wouldn't go along to a game or two during the year. She was quite disappointed knowing that Aonghas wouldn't be playing, she had wanted to see if he had gotten any better, but she couldn't. Liusaidh had taken the opportunity to deck herself out entirely, green slytherin t-shirt, green slytherin jumper, green face paint making S's on her cheeks with green streaks around her face. There was green hair spray sparodically on the usual ginger hair - it didn't look particularly good. "C'MON SLYTHERIN," she shouted loudly, she didn't really care if they won, but she would enjoy herself at it anyway. Plus slytherin had the ball now, so things could only get better.

Ajaccio had several reasons to come to the quidditch game, primarily he just liked watching it, but now as an alternate he needed to pay attention to how others played and then there was also the fact he was there for Accio. Ajax had told Vader that he wanted a chance to start doing things, like he knew he needed to learn how to take lots of pictures of things and that had to include quidditch. Ajaccio had the camera in his hand, and he was sporting a green beanie to keep the frustrating bird's nest out of his eyes. he spotted a few people he knew in the crowd. Chloe to one side and Nicole to the other. He missed Andrea in that moment. However, he was quick to ignore those thoughts and just took a few pictures of the crowd, trying to get some of that beginning of game buzz that everyone was feeling. When he was happy he decided to head over to Nicole and the boy she was talking to. "Nicole!" Ajax called out, he waved as he walked over, "Mind if I join you guys?" Ajaccio glanced between them with a wide and eager expression.

Minnie had come prepared. She had her notes from the practice, she had a few quidditch books and she had a pair of binoculars to be able to see better. She knew it maybe wasn't the normal person would bring to a quidditch game, but she wasn't here to enjoy the game, she needed to learn more. There was only so much a book could teach her, she needed to see the other teams, needed to see how they played, needing to figure out what plays they were making. She had found a little corner of the stands and was working away. She hoped the game would be a long one, she needed to see all that she could from them. Minnie needed to make sure her team was well prepared.

Aonghas knew he didn't need to bother coming to this quidditch game, but he didn't really have anything better to do, and well, lauren was still on the team, he could still support her. Aonghas missed quidditch if he was honest. Seeing Elliot leave the dorm at points or come back from practicing had made him needlessly jealous of the other boy. Not that he'd expressed it, Aonghas knew that he could've been doing the same, he had just made the decision to not. Aonghas walked to the stands and immediately saw his sister and then heard her in that order. So he made sure to stay clear and head where she definitely wouldn't spot him. he was hopeful for a hufflepuff victory even if it would be without him.
