Brooke nodded when Liusaidh said she'd like to be a chaser. Brooke had half expected her to say beater, just from Liusaidh's brash attitude, but it seemed like she wasn't fussed. "Oh, your brothers play too?" She said, remembering vaguely a Quidditch player in a NZ club who's last name was Fergusson. A cheer went up as Gryffindor managed to score and Brooke idly shock her pompom in support of their poor Keeper. "I don't know the new seeker much, I hope she can manage." @Liusaidh Fergusson

Minnie gave a little nod, "Yeah, hurts like crazy," she agreed. She'd been taken out of a couple of games by bludgers, "Never gets easier either," she looked up from her notes and began watching the game again. She knew that Elliot had had a rough first game in this season, but she wasn't sure if she should bring it up. "Do you ever regret picking seeker as the position to play?" she asked. Minnie didn't, it was hard, and the devastation was at times unreal. But it was so exhilarating, she couldn't imagine officially playing in any other position. Her brief brush with keeper in the ravenclaw's first practice, hadn't made her want any other position. But being a seeker was a targeted and hard position.

Harper was starting to think she might need to reconsider some of her stances on Quidditch. It seemed that the beaters were also very important. She watched as Jacob and Lysander hit three bludgers toward the Slytherine seeker in quick succession and winced at each impact. She wondered who had thought that Quidditch needed flying iron bowling balls. It just seemed needlessly dangerous. She cringed at the idea of getting hit in the face by one. The Slytherin seeker had to withdraw, and the team replaced him with a younger girl who was hopefully less experienced, though Harper didn't particularly want to watch her get beaten up by bludgers either.

Gryffindor managed to score, and Harper cheered. "GRY-FFIN-DOR! GRY-FFIN-DOR!" Even as she shouted, she kept her eye on Willow, knowing that the snitch was still what counted the most. But just then, the new Slytherin seeker yelled out, and it became clear that Gryffindor had lost. Harper groaned. She'd been right. It didn't matter that the Gryffindor beaters had played better and had even managed to get the original Slytherin seeker to leave. All that mattered was that Slytherin had found their way to the snitch first. Disappointed, Harper picked her way down the stands and headed for the castle.

Elliot grimaced a little when Minnie commisserated about bludgers. He'd taken a pretty nasty hit earlier in the semester, but honestly Elliot had had better luck than most seekers at avoiding bludgers. He remembered games for Minnie that had gone a lot worse for her. "If anything, it gets worse," He joked awkwardly, aware he'd gotten even more bludger shy this year than he'd ever been. Minnie's next question made Elliot pause, unsure if he should be really honest with her or not. "Honestly uh. Yeah, probably," He said, thinking it over. "It's scary and hard work and it really sucks when we lose," He said slowly, pointedly watching the game as he spoke. "But then again it's also exciting and I actually feel uh. Good at something. When I play," He said, eventually just shrugging, not sure where he was going with it. Seeking was terrifying at times, but Elliot did actually love it. Somehow he was good at it. Sometimes. And even though the lows were pretty low, it had it's moments that made it worth it. "Do you?" He started to ask Minnie in return, distracted when there was a commotion on the field. Elliot was shocked to see the Slytherin alternate had managed to snag the snitch before Willow, cementing Slytherin as champions again. "Wow." @Minnie Calida
