A one-track mind when caught up in his passions, Ryan enjoys solving mysteries and puzzles and fancies himself quite the detective. He seeks out new information to help him solve whatever question is bothering him day and often applies the line of thinking and looking for clues to other aspects of his life to keep things more interesting. He can come across to others as a bit odd or dense since he often doesn't understand how other people can approach problems and rarely filters his own thoughts and often gets frustrated if forced to explain his thought process or methods.
Not particularly shy or antisocial, Ryan still doesn't seek out other people's company, especially if he's happily engaged on his own, though he does enjoy avidly sharing his discoveries and ideas with any even partially willing audience. Social queues are very much not Ryan's forté though, and he often relies on his sister for outside cues on how to behave, never really understanding other people that well beyond maybe his dad.
Ryan's current passions are map-making and history, two things that make the new ground of Hogwarts an exciting endeavor.

The youngest Fisk child, Ryan takes more after his more eccentric father rather than his practical mother and older sister. He grew up in Manukau, NZ, homeschooled by his father along with his older sister, Nicole, and mostly kept to himself, enjoying his own games and adventures to keep himself occupied.
His home life is comfortable, though the two sides of the family often clash due to communication differences. Nicole and her mother are very practical and often condescending to Ryan and his father’s more flippant or unusual ways of thinking, though Ryan rarely notices any familial tension, focused instead on his own interests rather than social nuances.
Ryan is close with his dad, the pair of them often sharing mannerisms and Ryan deeply enjoyed being taught by his father. He's also very close with his sister, being so close with her in age, though the two could not be any more different. Ryan doesn't always understand his sister, but he respects her advice even if he often questions her reasoning, as she usually has his best interests at heart.
