While her family love and support each other plenty, emotions run high and she butts heads often with her little brother or parents and is used to sharing her thoughts and feelings unfiltered. Marnie's family treat her with great patience though even they have their limits for her over-bearing nature, and have always indulged her creative endeavors. While her relationship with her brother is somewhat more antagonistic, Marnie still cares for him fiercely, the two often having 'friendly' arguments about just about everything.
Marnie spent almost all of her life in Sydney, only traveling to visit family or for the occasional visit to the more populated magical areas of New Zealand. While she's more than excited to start school in New Zealand, Marnie is wary about leaving her family behind to live in another country, even if she knows they're never far away.
