Open Y42 End of Year Feast

Natalia was feeling a bit sad as she sat down at the feast. She felt guilty about her sister, even though she knew it wasn't her fault her parents had decided to make Isadora transfer to Durmstrang next year. Still, a nagging voice in her mind kept telling her she hadn't done enough to dissuade them. But she ignored it, she knew there was no use trying to convince her parents of anything. Isadora should've just learned to behave properly. It wasn't Natalia's fault. She determinedly didn't look at the Gryffindor table, as she didn't want to see her sister's expression. Instead, she looked around the table for someone to distract her. She spotted Liusaidh nearby, looking pleased with herself. "I can't believe you made it through all seven years without an expulsion," Natalia told her, smiling slightly to show her she didn't mean anything with it. Liusaidh had taught her to be more open about her thoughts, and Natalia hoped she wouldn't be offended. She was surprised to realize she would actually miss her.

Louis couldn't believe Slytherin had won both cups. It was starting to feel unfair. Louis didn't care all that much about the house cup, but the Quidditch cup still hurt. He was starting to realize he only had two more chances to win it, which was kind of wild. He couldn't believe how old he was getting. He tuned the headmaster out, as he wasn't saying anything too interesting. Louis only perked up when the food arrived, eagerly digging in. He was looking forward to the break, he hadn't seen his dad in almost a year. It still hurt a bit that he hadn't been able to go home for Christmas break, but he wasn't going to tell his dad that, he didn't want to seem weak or like a baby or anything. Louis looked around and sighed as the Slytherin banners reminded him again of who had won the cup. "I swear Slytherin is cheating." He muttered.

Gwen was pretty frustrated with how this year had been. Fourth year had had so much potential and it had all been wasted. It had been the most boring year so far. Gwen had been dumped at the start of it, and then had to go to dances on her own. She knew she had to step it up next year if she wanted to be relevant in any way. She wasn't a loser, so she shouldn't act like one. Gwen would have to try harder. She sat at the Slytherin table, at least pleased her house had won the cup. She pretended to listen to the headmaster, then grabbed some food when it arrived. She would have to make a splash next year. Maybe she should do something with her hair?

Isadora was absolutely miserable. The only reason she dragged herself to the feast was so she could enjoy Hogwarts food for the final time. She doubted the food at Durmstrang would be any good, it sounded like a place that would have bad food, like boiled cabbage. She wanted to sit with Cameron and Margo, but she had to stay at the Gryffindor table. Isadora propped her chin on her hand and sighed, not bothering to even seem like she was listening to Professor Alcott-Ward. He wouldn't be her headmaster next year anyway. Once the food arrived, Isadora filled her plate, but she quickly realized she didn't really have an appetite. She scowled, prodding at her food with her fork.

Emery didn't think he had paid any attention to the house points all year, so Slytherin winning was a vague surprise to him. Though he thought maybe they had won last year too. Did they always win? Emery didn't know, nor did he much care. House points were a bit of a farce in his opinion. He didn't get why other students cared. Especially when he heard how many some of them had earned. Didn't they have anything better to do? He waited for the food to appear, which took way too long. When it finally did, Emery loaded his plate and started to eat. He wondered if his parents were going to force him on another trip this break, he hoped not.

Penelope was a little sad the year was already over, it had really flown by. She hadn't really gotten to do the things she had hoped she'd do this year, like go to a dance with someone. But she knew she had plenty of time for all that. Though... next year Holden would join her here, and Penelope was nervous about it. She had felt responsible for him for as long as she could remember, and she had kind of enjoyed the break Hogwarts had given her. Would she be able to keep him out of trouble once he was sorted? She doubted it, but she knew her dad would expect it from her. Penny sighed and prodded at her food, trying to be optimistic. Maybe Holden had grown up a bit over the past year.

Anisha was honestly a little mad the school year was over already. It had seemed so much longer before she went herself, when she was just waiting for Indi to return to Hogwarts in the hopes she'd tell her anything about the school, which she never did. She glanced at Raafe as the professor announced the top point-earners, she couldn't believe how many points some of these students had gotten. She thought she was a nerd. Anisha glanced up at the green banner right above their heads. "We should make sure we win next year." She muttered to her cousin, though she had no idea how they would do something like that. "We're sitting together on the train, right?" She added, though she knew she didn't really need to ask.

It was a shame Ezra couldn't sit with Dorian at feasts like this, but he supposed Dorian didn't mind as he liked being on his own. Ezra was a bit sad to be leaving Hogwarts, but he knew it would only be a month before he would return. He couldn't wait to tell Elise all about the school, though he knew he would probably exaggerate his adventures a bit to impress her. Ezra was glad when the food finally appeared, he started to eat. He spotted his roommate nearby and raised a hand in greeting. "Hi Gregory, excited for the break?"

Although Weston loved Hogwarts' feasts, the last one of the year was always a bittersweet affair for two reasons. One, because Ravenclaw never won the house cup. And two, because the end of the year feast signaled, well, the end of the year and Weston never wanted to go home. All his friends were at Hogwarts, and most of them lived kind of far away during the breaks. His one solace was that he'd somehow earned his apparition license, which would hopefully make it easier to visit them over the winter break.

As he'd come to expect, the Great Hall was decorated in silver and green, and Weston glanced over at the Slytherin table, wondering how they did it. He half-listened as Professor Alcott-Ward congratulated Slytherin and started to go through the top points earners. However, one name caught his attention. "Did he say 'Monday Weeks'?" he asked the people sitting near him. "There's a Ravenclaw named Monday Weeks?" Weston immediately started looking around, trying to figure out who this person might be. He wanted to meet them. He had so many questions.

Monday was still trying to finish up the feast but he heard a Ravenclaw talk about his name, and even look around. He rather just keep his head bowed, but whatever. Might as well reveal who he was. The sixth year was somewhat close, but diagonal from him. He slowly raised a hand, and stared at the sixth year as he spoke, "That's me." Monday hated answering questions about his name because it always led to awkward conversations or ridicule which would only fuel the burning hatred he felt for most people. That was why he transferred here to begin with.

Rene wasn't surprised to see the hall once again decked out in Slytherin's house colours; they'd won the Quidditch cup too, so why not the house cup again as well. Though he couldn't exactly blame the decorations for why his own attention kept shifting over to the Slytherin table even as Professor Alcott-Ward addressed the school and made his end of year announcements.

Dating Jenna this year had been great and all, but very different from what he expected and he couldn't help but feel like he'd messed something up. She'd been more distant as the year went on and Rene hoped they could spend some proper quality time over the break, already planning what he'd say to her on the train home to help keep the urge to try and move to the Slytherin table and eat with her at bay until the food arrived.

Valencia was already prepared to leave. She couldn't wait to go. Next year will be her last year at Hogwarts, and she couldn't wait. For now, though, she was starving. She had a plan. Eat quickly and then head out as fast as she could, though she couldn't exactly do that, with the headmaster's announcements. She zoned in and out throughout the headmaster's announcements, clapping along when everyone else did, not really paying attention as to why everyone else was clapping. It wasn't long before they were able to grab some food. Valencia hurriedly got her hands on one of the buns before everyone else around her. Without paying attention to her surroundings, her hand and knocked over the drink of someone beside her, some of the drink spilling out of the cup and gasped. "I'm so sorry!"

Nolan was a little nervous to be leaving school for the break if he was being honest. Though he was trying his best to avoid his mother if he could. Nolan was a little disappointed that Hufflepuff hadn't won this year, though he politely clapped for everyone else. His stomach was rumbling throughout the announcements though, and he couldn't wait to start eating. When the food had finally arrived on the table, he immediately dug into his food.

Molly was devastated that she was leaving school for the break. She was going to miss her friends and everyone around her. She felt it would be ages until she could see them again. The Hufflepuff was also a little sad that Hufflepuff hadn't won this year. She had hopes they were going to win but was disappointed. She cheered and clapped for the house winners as well as the top point earners. It wasn't long before the food appeared on the table and they were able to eat. Molly waited for the people around her to grab their food first, before she proceeded to get her food.

Abigail thought she had a good year. She thought she made a few more friends this year, which she was quite proud of herself for. Abby had a few mixed emotions though. She was relieved but also sad that she was leaving for the break. Hogwarts could be overwhelming sometimes, especially with the number of people there is around the school as well as the hustle and bustle about the place. She clapped politely throughout the announcements and it wasn't long before they were able to grab some food. Abby turned to her friend, as she grabbed some food. "Do you have any plans for the break, Rosie?" Abby asked her friend softly with curiosity.

@Rosie Archer

Charlotte listened to the headmaster's entire speech and applauded the Slytherins for their victory. Will the House of Gryffindor ever win the house cup? Her sister Dalia was from Slytherin, so she deserved to win. Already in the first year! The girl glanced over the Slytherin table to look for her sister until she found the red hair that wasn't hard to find in the crowd.
When she was done eating and nibbling on the syrup cake, the girl got up from the Gryffindor table and sat down next to Dalia. "Hello! How are you feeling? Are you happy about the victory of the Slytherins?"
She was also interested in how Dalia was received by the Slytherins and if she had any good friends from her house. Although their last conversation wasn't the best, Charlotte didn't hold a grudge and was ready to renew their bonding.

Joshua was super duper excited for the Christmas break. He was excited to see his friends! Who he hadn't seen in ages! Throughout the entirety of the headmaster's announcements, he muttered "This is so boring" over and over again. Time felt like it was going soo slowly before they were able to eat. He was really disappointed that Gryffindor didn't win the house cup this year. Finally, the food arrived and they could finally eat. Joshua stuffed his face with the food almost immediately. "Hey dude, you got any plans this break?" Josh asked no one in particular, trying to strike up a conversation with someone.

Conan absolutely enjoyed his first year at Hogwarts. It definitely exceeded his expectations. He managed to make a few friends and acquaintances. He was a little sad that it was going to be a bit before he'd see his school friends again. Conan had plans to go on a shell hunt during the break, hoping to find some interesting shells. The Ravenclaw thought the announcements were really boring but didn't really complain. It wasn't long before the food arrived onto the table and he dug into his food.

Gregory had piled some food into his plate when he heard someone greet him. He glanced up and gave Ezra a smile. He'd miss him too. Ezra was a good friend. Gregory knew that he had a good number of friends at the school that he would miss but it wasn't really worth it. He didn't need to stay at school for only a hand full of people. He nodded eagerly, "Yeah can't wait," he told him excitedly, it was what he most excited for, to and never come back. "You?"

Liusaidh was mid-mouthful as she heard Natalia speak. She glanced at the girl and laughed lightly. "Right?!" she replied with a wide smile. There was perhaps a part of her that was rather proud of having actually graduated rather than dropping out or being kicked out. She'd done exactly what she'd intended when arriving at the school, had fun. Once Natalia had gotten over how she acted, Liusaidh had come to like the girl. She wondered if things with her sister had been settled, but ignored it, she was sure she'd hear about it from the grapevine. "You'll have to make all the fun next year, remember that you can usually get first years to do things for you because they don't know any better," she told her. "Get them to do it, and then you have none of the blame," She very much doubted that Natalia would do anything of the sort, but she could still joke with her.
@Natalia Novak

Rosie glanced away from her twin sister and towards Abby with a wide smile. She knew Abby was quieter, but she really enjoyed her friend's company. "Oh not many, just gardening, probably catch up with Xinyi," she said, she didn't have anything set in stone but these were all things she was likely to do. "You?" she asked Abby. "We should do something over break, like go to Obsidian and hang out?" Rosie suggested excitedly.
@Abigail Payne

''Hello, I am fine and thanky for asking, how about you?'' She asked her sister and she was still preaty upset but she don't wanted talk again and fight with her. ''I am happy and we deserve it. I will try next year good grades get. I will go when shcool end to arts camping.'' She told her and finished talk.

After the Headmaster's speech, Sera ploughed straight into a plateful of ham and roast potatoes. He was, contrary to the impression he gave, fed well at home, but the food at Hogwarts was too good not to fill up on before he left. Of course, it would have tasted even better if Hufflepuff had won the house cup, but at least Cass could celebrate. And if everybody got to dine at the end of year feast regardless of their place, did it really matter who won?

Without OWLs this year, Salem felt like the entire year had passed her by without her really noticing. She wasn't surprised to hear River had managed top points for her house, or that her sister had top points for theirs; she couldn't imagine working that hard in class, it sounded exhausting. The only class she'd cared about this year had been apparition and Salem was more than excited to see the holidays this year now that she'd passed and could go anywhere.

She was brainstorming all the cool spots she could try to convince Indi or Natalia to visit with her when she heard Louis Alcott muttering something about cheating nearby. "You think? All the Slytherin's I know are scary smart. Plus wouldn't it be the teachers cheating if anything? They give out the points and stuff," she pointed out, motioning with her fork to the staff table. @Louis Alcott

Natalia rolled her eyes fondly at Liusaidh's words, she shook her head a bit. "You and I have very different definitions of fun." She reminded her mildly as she took a bite of her food. She snorted as Liusaidh said how she would make first-years do things for her, it was a funny mental image even if Natalia would never do something like that. "Poor firsties." She said with a mock sigh. "At least the next batch will be free of your reign of terror."
