History: Penelope grew up in Australia with her parents, Ryan and Heather Marshall, and her little brother Holden. Their little family was perfectly happy, as far as Penelope knew, until recently. Penelope's biggest worries used to be her homework or if her little brother was embarrassing her or getting into fights, but she recently got a lot more responsibility on her shoulders. A few months before sorting, Penelope's mother died. Her dad had some trouble keeping it all together and a lot of the responsibility of taking care of her brother and keeping everyone happy came to rest on Penelope's shoulders. There was the added shock of finding out her dad had a whole other family Penelope and her brother had never known about. They recently found out their dad was married before and had two children they never knew about. Penelope is very conflicted about all of this, but tries to make the best of a bad situation. She doesn't let her dad or brother see her struggle with it, keeping up a brave front for them. But when Penelope is alone she is able to express her feelings better. She writes most of them down in a journal, something she has been keeping for years. Penelope is looking forward to Hogwarts a lot and hopes to make friends, but she's a little worried about leaving her dad and brother behind as well.

Penelope has a huge crush on Emmanuel and has had it for years, she's too scared to do anything about it. ​

Penelope didn't kiss anyone at the spin the bottle game because she was afraid of being bad at it in front of everyone. And because she was hoping for her first kiss to be something special.​

Sometimes Penelope thinks Marnie doesn't really listen to her and it makes her sad.​

Regrets:

Penelope regrets not being a better sister and daughter when her mum died, she feels like if she had done just a bit better everything wouldn't have fallen apart as badly.​

Penelope is also on the Quidditch team as an alternate seeker and she won the Hufflepuff house the cup in her third year in the final match, something Quidditch fans would probably remember.

Manie is Penelope's best friend. They do everything together and Penelope is eternally grateful to Marnie for sticking by her so much. She's a lot more shy and quiet than her friend and Marnie helps her come tcomout of her shell a bit more. ​

Senna is one of Penelope's classmates that she is friendly with. She'd like to think they are friends, as she does enjoy the Gryffindor's company. Senna is a lot more outgoing than Penelope is, something she admires. ​

Penelope liked Emmanuel for a long time and felt over the moon when he wanted to date her. Unfortunately he broke her heart, which she still hasn't quite forgiven him for. ​

Penelope has a complicated relationship with her younger brother. She loves him a lot, but she's frustrated by him too. He often breaks the rules and acts impulsively, and Penelope doesn't understand why he can't just do what he's supposed to, the way she does. ​

Penelope only found out she had half-brothers a little while before she went to Hogwarts, so she hasn't spent a lot of time with them. She finds Eric very intimidating and scary. He reminds her a lot of Holden too, which is strange for her. ​

Penelope doesn't know Connor very well, but he intimidates her too. It's in a different way than Eric, as he seems a lot nicer. He just seems even less interested in getting to know her and Holden, which makes Penelope feel sad. She does understand, though. He never asked for new siblings. ​

Spoiler: Graduation Post

Penelope knew she wasn't going to get through this graduation dry-eyed, but she also wasn't expecting the tears to start as soon as Emmanuel started speaking. It wasn't that she was particularly moved by his speech, but it just kept hitting her that her time at Hogwarts was really over. She had adored her time here, she still remembered how small and unsure she had felt when she first started here, and now she was done. She would never be a student here again. The tears only came on more strongly when Marnie took the stage and started speaking. Her speech hit Penelope, and she also just felt so proud of her friend. She buried her face in her hands and leaned into Todd next to her as she tried to compose herself. She would have to get on the stage to get her diploma soon. Though thankfully, not as one of the first. She stayed like that until Todd was called up, at which point she started cheering and clapping for him loudly- and the tears began anew. She was so proud of him and so glad she had found Todd. She applauded and cheered just as much for Marnie when it was her turn, and was thankfully no longer actively crying when it was finally her turn. Penelope made her way to the stage, hoping she didn't look too blotchy. She thanked Professor Alcott-Ward as she got her diploma, then turned and found her brothers in the crowd. It hurt a bit, that her dad wasn't there. It hurt even more that her mom wasn't there, because Penny knew she wouldn't have missed it for the world. But as she looked at Eric, Connor and Holden, she didn't feel alone. She realized the tears were starting again so she quickly left the stage, wiping her eyes before her tears could drop down on her diploma.
