Personality: Emery is very passionate about his hobbies, mainly gobstones but also collecting things. He has a collection of misprinted chocolate frog cards he's trying to grow. His interest in gobstones is a large part of his identity, he knows all the rules and is very invested in any gobstone tournaments that might happen in the magical world. Emery can be a bit of a snob about his very specific interests, while at the same time not bothering to learn anything about things other people might like. He really dislikes Quidditch and has no interest in learning anything about it, to the point where he's a bit obtuse about it on purpose. He's not very close to his younger sister Vanity as they both tend to focus on their own interests. He is a little closer to his youngest sister Briony. Emery is a bit of a daydreamer with an interest in astronomy. He also enjoys writing from time to time, though he hasn't shared any of his writings with anyone else yet. He has a tendency to collect small items like rocks and seashells, though he tends to get bored with those collections fairly easily..

History: Emery grew up in a magical family, both his parents went to Hogwarts in the UK and settled in New Zealand some years before Emery was born. He lives with his younger sisters and parents near Brightstone Village. Emery's parents are both very busy with their jobs at the Ministry, leaving him and his sisters fairly free to do whatever they want, as their parents don't pay very close attention to them. Emery isn't a very social kid, tending to be quiet in a social setting. He can come across as shy, but that's not really true. He just doesn't really care about being social and finds it tedious. He can be rather snarky when you get to know him.

School reputation: Emery would probably be known as that weird quiet kid who is obsessed with gobstones. He can sometimes be seen outside gathering stones, or whatever he decided to collect that day. He's also quite unfriendly, which is probably known by now.

Rāwhiti has been Emery's best friend for years. Last year, they kissed after a Quidditch match and they have been dating ever since. ​

Emery and Savannah started a friendship when Savannah brought a book to a feast and Emery spent most of the celebration reading it over her shoulder. They're similar, and Emery enjoys hanging out with her. ​

Emery thinks Emmanuel is alright, but he doesn't really consider him a friend. In Emery's eyes, he's probably his least annoying roommate. ​

As Emery looked back on his final year at Hogwarts, he wished he could do it over. Just restart it again. It wasn't like he was particularly fond of the place, though he knew at least a part of him would miss it. It was mostly that he just felt like he was worse off than before. Things with Raawhiti had gone terribly bad, and Emery was worried that once they graduated the other boy would just disappear without a trace. He had already been avoiding Emery these past months, what if they stepped out of this school and he just never saw him again? He knew he'd have to confront him tonight, no matter what. He found himself barely listening to either speech, not surprised Marnie blathered on for what seemed like an eternity. He didn't start to focus on what was happening until the speeches were done. His own name would be somewhere in the middle, so he waited as he watched his classmates get up on the stage. It hit him that he barely knew any of them. He hadn't tried especially hard to make friends, and well... he hadn't. He watched dispassionately until it was his turn. He got up almost automatically and headed to the stage. He took the diploma from the headmaster, only then remembering his sisters were in the audience to watch him. He tried to find them in the crowd but couldn't. He knew his parents weren't here, but he didn't care about that. He returned to his seat, glancing around until he finally spotted Briony and Vanity. He hoped they would have better times at Hogwarts than he had.
