Hello and welcome to this BWU. It is a beautiful summers day here, so let's just jump right in.
Week 3
We are in week 3! I can't believe it. Already in week three. That means that people should be posting those week 3 lessons. For all those with professors, be sure that you have posted your lessons and remain on top of your grading. For those replying to lessons, reply to them! Although it is always worth pressing, though replying to lessons and gaining grades/house points is good, it is not the be all and end all of HNZ. Not every character will have perfect grades.
Accio - post your pictures
This is your first official reminder that all accio pictures threads are up and that if you want your character to be included in the yearbook, you need to post their picture. Head on over here to do that.
The club fair
The Club fair is live! And has been for a little bit, but it's not too late to be able to join a new club, at any age. You can also check out the sneaky fringe club sign-ups of the unofficial clubs here and here.
Quidditch
Our first quidditch game of the year is underway! And already the ravenclaw beaters have taken out the gryffindor seeker! So an exciting game all round! Can't wait to see who gets the first victory of the season. Characters who are not on teams can react to the game from the stands found here.
Shopkeeper!
We have a new Shopkeeper for Flourish and Blotts, one many may be familiar with - Kalif Styx. A congrations to Kaitlyn and a good luck to all the characters needing books or who work at the store.
End of Birthday
Folks! With it now being almost two weeks into June, the birthday and all the celebrations for it are now over. We'd like to give a big thanks to everyone for participating in all of the events which we had going, and encourage you to take a look at the excellent werewolf game, the supers results or the super fun picture challenge, if you haven't already. We'd also like to take a moment to thank the GMs for running the games and for all their hard work over the period.
GMAD
On that same theme, June 1st was GMAD day! The day in the year when we give an extra big thanks to the GMs and all of the work that they do. This year we got our GMs some cards which a good number of members managed to sign. You can head on over here to check it all out and give them your thanks!
Sorting is over! For now
Sorting is officially over, it closed last weekend, and it was a good one. Sorting does always take a lot of time, so we appreciate folks engagement in it and patience. The break-down is below and as most guess not a great year for Slytherins.
Apps open
All applications are once again open! We will be working through the many applications that are already and do get yours in too. We may close the apps again over the next school break (mid-July) because of Admin business, so please keep that in mind when considering when to apply for something.
Character Spotlight
With all of the Birthday fun over, we have a new Character Spotlight! It is River Hopkins-Vance, played by Sam. Head on over here to read the announcement and then over here to peak at the bio.
Spreading Wealth
We, as staff, know better than most the general, spread the wealth policy. This is something we'll talk a lot about and try to press whenever we can. We just also now want to take the time to remind folks about it too. Though some IC choice might want to supersede it, it is important to pick a variety of folk, not just friends, but to make sure everyone gets equal opportunity to try at something, to do something. Folks should also try for positions - with increased activity in those area. Activity is a good way for characters to be considered for things.

- Falling Leaves Might Hide Your Path - When Rion gets caught skipping class, she doesn't expect Professor Josephs to show her kindness. Is it enough to convince her to stay at Hogwarts?
- Working Too Hard - Ten ends up in the wrong astronomy class.
- Prefects Meeting Y44 - While the new head students (mostly the Head Girl) have very specific strategies in mind for pairing off patrol partners, some of the prefects are not too happy about it... or Someone gave teenagers matches to play with, and now the whole castle is going to be on fire over these patrolling pairings.
