Y48 End of Year Feast

Elio nodded his head at Teddy as he raised his goblet. he was going to miss the people here the most, even Anisha, which was sometimes a weird thought. He didn't dislike her and never had, sometimes he thought they could have been better friends if they hadn't sort of gotten off to the wrong start in his first year, but sometimes rivalries weren't a bad thing. And if they were out of school, maybe there would be nothing left for them to be rivals about. So he returned her smile and nodded, shoving some of the veggies around his plate as he looked up at the ceiling. There was a bit of a strange ache in his chest he would probably address later, but not right now. "Yeah, strange is a good enough word for it. Feels like we blinked and now it's over," moreso for him he was sure, since Anisha had been here since her first year, that he knew of. He'd only been here two years - but it had been a really good two years. A surprising one if nothing else. “I thought I’d be more ready for this part. But it’s weird, isn’t it? Walking away from a place that’s been everything, all at once.” He shook his head at the thought, not quite sure how to feel. "Whatever you do after this, I hope everything works out for you, honestly."

@Anisha Khatri

Lucy clapped for the winners, proud of her friend for getting the most points again. Lucy was still riding the high of the fact she had a girlfriend and had survived OWL year. She tried to catch Tempest's eye, looking over the tables towards Slytherin. Luckily they were next door to each other. She gave a cheery wave, hoping they'd get to see each other over the holidays. She hadn't thought what to tell her parents about it yet. They didn't know she was, well, into girls, pretty much exclusively. Coming out to them wasn't on her list of plans for a fun, chill holiday season.

@Tempest Vero

Kyousuke was delighted, yet dismayed. Sure, he'd made it onto the top point scorers for the first time but he hadn't made it to number one and that's where he deserved to be. He knew this. He also knew that based on how many points he'd earned, he was one of the reasons Slytherin had won and he didn't appreciate the insinuation that his hard work was 'cheating'. He scowled in Vex's direction but didn't want to start anything. Nothing good came from interacting with that poltergeist - or any poltergeist, for that matter. People could talk anyway. It didn't change the fact that Slytherin was the best house and hence deserved to win.

Aroha had had a good enough year, she thought, as she clapped with the other students for the top point earners. Teddy again, she noted. She smirked, thinking back to musicial chairs and how she'd won that. She was proud of that - almost as proud as she was for catching the snitch in one of the Gryffindor games. Aroha wasn't surprised that Slytherin won again, but was disappointed nonetheless. Oh well. She turned to Fiona. "Any plans for your break?" she asked as the food appeared and she began piling some of it onto her plate.

@Fiona Burke

Elise was more upset about her brother graduating that she expected. He had always been a safe person she could run to if anything felt overwhelming. So far she had never needed him but she felt better knowing he was there. There had only been two years when they were apart and now with him graduating and moving on with his life this felt like a much much bigger deal than when he had gone off to Hogwarts ahead of her. She tried to but on a brave face in case Ezra looked her way, she didn't want to worry him. But her mind was elsewhere and distracted as the headmaster spoke and food appeared. She probably could have missed dinner completely if Nyx, who was resting on her shoulder, hadn't pulled at her hair to ask for treats. Reluctantly she served herself and gave a small grape to her raven.

Naveen didn't care much for all the ceremony that went into the end of year feast. It was just a meal after all, besides Slytherin won again so it wasn't much of a surprise. Still, he took his seat and listened halfheartedly as the headmaster spoke. He clapped weakly as the top points earners were announced and he was a little worried his dads would be upset with his grades but he chose not to worry too much, which was easier said than done. He still had years before his OWLs, there was plenty of time to make up for an off year...or two. Naveen blinked as the food appeared and he was suddenly starving. He had been so busy trying to pack all of his things he had missed lunch. He heard Thomas ask for the chicken and he happily passed over. "There you are." he said somewhat formally to his roommate. "Ready to go home?" he asked with a slightly knowing smile. @Thomas Fitzgerald

Tempest was feeling good about the end of the year. She kept to herself at the Slytherin table before spotting Lucy across the wave, giving her a smile and wishing they could sit together. But the feasts were no time to be swapping tables. The sixth year looked around for June, surprised she hadn't been declared one of the top points earners knowing how hard she worked, but maybe this year had caught up to her. After all, they were working hard towards their NEWTs and graduating next year. She took a moment and looked back at her girlfriend, thinking about how hard it was going to be to be away from her. She hadn't thought it would be hard to take some time away from Lucy, but she really liked her girlfriend, as one should, and was already feeling ready to come back to school next year.

Oskar didn't have any big feelings as this year came to an end. He hoped one day he'd stop feeling so invisible but part of him figured it could be worse. He was excited to go home and see his mom, maybe even look for a job. He had long stopped asking about going home or seeing his father. It was still a sore subject at home but he was learning to live with it. Besides it was only a couple years left before he could make his own choices, which felt like ages away and not long at all. He took his seat in the great hall and saw it decorated in green. He was happy to see his house colors but it wasn't like he had done much to put them there. He listened to the speeches but was mostly looking forward to dinner.

Sybil was excited to go home but she was pleased that she had done her best this year. She had made the quidditch team, as an alternate but it still counted, and she had even earned a dueling title, that she had to share with Ruth but if she had to share it with anyone she was glad it was her friend. Her grades had slipped a bit but she was still figuring out how to balance everything, next year would be better surely. She smiled as she sat down in the great hall and saw all the green. She knew Slytherin had won consistently for years now and other people were probably ready for a change, but she was still silently proud. She listened to the headmaster speak and clapped encouragingly for all the top point earners. She hoped that one day her name would be announced during one of these, but it wasn't today. When the food arrived she hadn't realized how hungry she was and served herself a plate.

Doyle couldn't believe how quickly his first year had gone by. Every day he was still confused but slowly he was finding his footing. It felt almost a shame to leave when he was making progress but he was also excited to get home. He missed his dad, and his grandpa, and his room. His room he had all to himself. He took his seat for dinner and was a little surprised by all the fuss. But he guessed it was nice to go off on a high note. He new they were tracking points for each of the houses but as he saw the green all around the hall he didn't realize how big a deal it was to win. He tried to listen to the headmaster but it was pretty boring. Finally the food was served and he dug in. He was really going to miss the food when he was home.

There was something kind of calming about the end of year feast, and as Lumos listened to the Headmaster talk and then watched as Vex tried to make a racket as always, he grinned towards the Hufflepuff table, to his brother and to Jonah, who may or may not have been his boyfriend, it was hard to tell. Another year gone, he was ready for the next one - even if it meant Bailey would be graduating soon.

Teo was bored. Speeches, speeches, speeches. He barely paid attention, chin in his hand. The food was even boring. He put some on his plate, but he didn't even really see it- getting in a few bites of... whatever it was before letting out a dramatic sigh. He sat back. Wasn't there anything fun to do? It was then that he saw it- that poltergeist guy causing chaos. Teo couldn't help the wicked grin that spread over his face. Now there was an idea! Following his lead, Teo loaded his spoon with mashed potatoes and flicked it at random, watching with utter delight as it arched perfectly across the table and hit someone else. His eyes lit up, and he quickly loaded up for another shot. @Vex

These feasts were so boring, and Vanity barely listened to the headmaster as he talked on and on. She pulled a face and made a talking motion with her hand when he just kept going and going, only to laugh in delight as she saw Vex mock him too. That was hilarious. Vex then went on to imply Slytherin had been cheating, which also made Vanity grin in delight. Mostly because she knew June would hate the implication. She herself had a sneaking suspicion June graduating next year will mean a dip in the Slytherin points the year after and might give another house a chance, though it seemed like there were always nerds ready to take her place. Some other kid had gotten the most points, after all. Vanity grinned. "I mean, at this point we can all agree we probably are cheating in some way, right?" She said loudly with a small shrug. "It's really the most likely explanation."

Savannah was very ready for her last night at school. She was just ready to be done and out in the world making money and being able to have a good living. She just couldn't wait to be free of this place, of the people, the work, everything. She was still trying to decide what exactly she wanted but Savannah just felt pleased that this part of her life was done. The ravenclaw - or really now the former ravenclaw applauded politely for the students who'd got top points and just started loading up her plate, ready for this to all be over.

Fraser was happy the year was at an end, he had been busy right up until the final line with Accio and was looking forward to spending time with his family and likely, above all other things sleeping. He was looking forward to the break as he was sure most were. Fraser applauded for the top points, especially for Teddy who had truly gotten an unreal amount of points. He filled his plate and began eating, listening idly to the noise around him but not really focusing too much on anything.

Miles was disappointed to see the Great Hall decked out in green instead of red. He would have quite liked to see Gryffindor win the house cup. At least they had won the Quidditch cup, even if he hadn't had the chance to be a part of that. But that was going to change, he was of course going to try out next year as well, even if he knew his chances were pretty slim. For now, he was just happy there was food, wasting not time in digging in, only glancing over as he heard Vex shouting, "Is Vex always this annoying?" He did have to question, though was pretty sure he already knew the answer already.

Callie wasn't really looking forward to the end of the semester, if only because it meant going home, and every time she did, her parents were a little colder with her. She just wasn't the same girl that she had been when she'd left for Hogwarts the first time. She was trying to not let it bother her, her lack of place in the world she was in and in the one she was from. She applauded a little half heartedly for the other students, but was lost a little in her own thoughts.

"NOT ANNOYING! ONLY FUN!" he shouted down to the boy who had dared question him, showering him with sparkles and confetti just to that people knew he was still there. He was enjoying the chaos, a chaos he had started which just made the nonbeing feel even more giddy than usual. It would not do to have the school be upset at such an occassion though, so he pulled out his trumpets and began to bellow the sorting song from earlier in the year, best to get it all started early, he thought.

@Miles Flynn

Enoch wasn't sure how he felt his OWLs had gone, probably not as good as his parents would've wanted them to go, but it wasn't like they were around to be able to scold him for it. His brothers didn't care, too busy with their own lives to really be bothered. he didn't know why he'd bothered, some latent desire to make people who didn't care proud of him. He barely listened to the head master, barely cared as the poltergeist did whatever it wanted. His gaze however for a moment found Lorelai at the Gryffindor table, before he forced himself to look away.

Friday was always relieved when the semester finally came to an end, she took a spot in the great hall right with Santiago, wanting no where else to sit than with him. She knew that while she had a couple more years left, he would only have the one, and that did...well, that was something for later. She gave a little boo for Teddy and his ridiculous amount of points. She let Santiago fill his plate before she filled her own. "What's your plan for the break?"
@Santiago Torres

Apolline was pretty sure she was never winning top points - though really the year in general hadn't gone her way. She'd managed to kep Henri out of some trouble, she had managed to do well in her own classes, but she hadn't won the duelling and hadn't got top points. Apolline applauded for who had gotten it, and then that slytherin had won overall, which felt..they had to be cheating. But she didn't focus on it, instead just grabbed some food and began filling her plate.

Hazel didn't have any particular warm feelings towards Vex after he made her late for class, so she was determined not to laugh at his antics at this feast. Not even when he mimicked the Headmaster pretty well She just looked down at her empty plate until the speech was done, though she made sure to cheer and clap extra loudly for her boyfriend. She turned a beaming grin to Kyousuke, which faltered a little at the expression on his face. Vex had just implied Slytherin was cheating, and somewhere to the right of her Vanity Mettlestone was loudly agreeing. Hazel rolled her eyes, then reached over to take Kyousuke's hand. "Ignore them, we both know how hard you worked. Others know it too, they're just idiots." She said encouragingly.

@Kyousuke Kurosawa

Mania listened to the speech and gave a nice set of applause for each name mentioned for the points. God knew she hadn't earned anywhere near that many points so they really deserved some recognition for their hard work. As soon as the speech was over she began filling her plate up but soon enough she was hit with mashed potatoes.... RIGHT IN HER HAIR. Her hair!? She had only washed it last night, her eyes scanned for the assailant and she eventually noticed a boy who looked a little too happy with himself. "You," Nia managed to say before filling her own spoon with mashed potatoes and flinging it at the boy, hoping to hit him square in the face.

@Theodore Shepherd

Magne always enjoyed his semester's at school. They were always good fun, he always learnt a lot, but he did always get to the end of the semester looking forward to being able to spend time with his family. He looked forward to seeing his parents and being out on the water. He cheered for all the students who'd done way more than he could ever imagine doing and loaded his plate up. He liked the food at the school but was very much looking forward to his mother's food.

Finley watched as Mania all but lunged at a boy who'd gotten food in her hair, and he chuckled behind his hand. Merlin, he was sure going to miss this. "Yeah, Nia! You get him!" He would probably deserve it after all that anyway.
@Mania Athanasiou
