Open Y44 End of Year Feast

Emery had decided Savannah had had the right idea, so he now took a book to every Hogwarts event he could. He found a seat next to her and shot her a quick smile before taking the strategy book for gobstones out of his bag. It was a well-worn copy he had read many times before, but that didn't take away from his enjoyment. He purposely didn't look over at the Gryffindor table, as he didn't want to see if Rāwhiti was talking to that Dahlia girl. Not that Emery even knew who she was. He wasn't sure why the thought of him having a crush on some random girl Emery didn't even know annoyed him so much, but he knew that it did. He hoped Dahlia wasn't interested, though he didn't see how she couldn't be. Rāwhiti was kind and funny, and he did have those Quidditch muscles he liked to brag about so much. Emery frowned and focused on the book again, not sure if he liked where his thoughts were going. He felt like he was blushing, but surely he wasn't. It was just hot in the great hall with everyone in there. That had to be it.

Penelope had chosen a spot at the Hufflepuff table that made it more difficult to look over at the Ravenclaw one. She would have to turn her whole body to do so, and that was too embarrassing to be caught doing frequently. But she did regret it, as she felt the urge to look over at Emmanuel the entire time Professor Ward was talking. When the speech was over and the food appeared, Penelope glanced over at Marnie, falling back into a conversation they'd been having on and off for days. "It's probably not a date." She said, looking at her friend anxiously. She hoped Marnie would, once again, reassure Penny and list all the reasons it definitely probably was a date, because Penny needed to hear it for the fifth time. Marnie hadn't disappointed her so far. Penny grabbed a piece of bread and tore at it anxiously, once again resisting the urge to turn around and look at the Ravenclaw table. What if he was looking at her? What if he wasn't?

Anisha was getting tired of seeing the Slytherin colors every year at the end-of-year feast. It had been fine two years ago, when at least Indi was in Slytherin and Anisha could be happy for her, but now it was just getting excessive. She contemplated this quietly as she sat next to her cousin, tuning out what the professor said about the points. She didn't grab any food yet, glaring up at the Slytherin banners above her like she was trying to set them on fire with her mind. She considered it, a quick incendio would do the job. But she wasn't sure if she could still get expelled or suspended for doing something at the end-of-year feast, so she decided not to. "I wonder what it'd take to have Gryffindor win again." She mused out loud. It wasn't really directed at anyone, though Anisha could always count on her cousin to listen to her at least.

Ezra thought of himself as a friendly guy, the sort of person anyone could be friends with. He tried very hard to be that way, to get along with just about everyone. So he didn´t understand why his roommate Gregory Friend wasn't his friend yet. His name was pretty ironic, all things considered. If he managed to make someone as grouchy as Dorian his best friend, surely he could make his roommate at least friendly to him. Ezra tried to make eye contact with Gregory, but he seemed to be far away. Ezra eventually gave up and tapped his shoulder. "Hey, the food's pretty nice, right?" He asked, mostly just saying it to start the conversation.

@Gregory Friend

Vanity sat proudly at the Slytherin table as the whole hall was transported into Slytherin colors and Professor Ward handed their head of house the cup. Vanity knew she hadn't earned that many points for her house, but no one else needed to know that. Anyone who asked would hear that she contributed significantly. Maybe she would even say she only had a handful of points less than whatever nerdy girl it was that got the most points overall. She looked around for someone to talk to and spotted June nearby. The older girl was also kind of a nerd, but like, a pretty one. And someone Vanity at least wanted to keep on her side, as she figured she wouldn't be someone she wanted as an enemy. "Are you doing anything over break?" She asked the older girl, before tossing her hair back. "I'm going to Italy with my family, I think. Last year we went to France." She decided not to add that the vacation had been anything but glamorous and she had mostly gotten a sunburn and a lot of mosquito bites out of it. Vanity always knew how to make things sound better than they were.

As June poured herself an orange juice she was suprised by the younger girl which she forgot the name of, but knew the last time she spoke. The girl had made an very dumb impression to her and not care about the important stuff. But she didn't seemed like one to show all, and she at least didn't looked like an complete idiot and had some sense of style so she didn't mind her talking to her. And watched over to the girl. And she directly answered the question like June cared about that. But she smiled back. '' Oh that's nice. Italy is lovely. Where in Italy?'' The blonde than replied and asked back. And thought about the visits she had paid to the country for an moment. And than decided to answer the question, but she already knew that the girl didn't understood what was important in life. And also she was not gonna talk about her father who would come out of Azkaban. The girl didn't need to know. June was not even close wit her, and would not spil anything important to anyone. '' Not sure yet. Perhaps go on a trip.'' She than started. '' And prepare for the upcoming year. When you are gonna take on all classes, it's kind of important.'' The blonde replied back and was already interested by how the girl would respond. June would tell if she lied now. Or she had suddenly see the light.

Conan was surprised that the end of year was already here. It seemed to have snuck up on him when he wasn't looking. But he was pleased to go home and see his siblings and his Mama over the break. Even if his no-good father was probably going to try and butt into his holidays again. But Conan wasn't going to worry about that, politely clapping as the top house point earners where announced to the hall. Conan knew full well he was never going to make it onto that list, but it was still disappointing that Gryffindor hadn't won the house cup. "How long has it been since Gryffindor won anyway?" He couldn't help but ask as he reached for the bread once the food had arrived. Slytherin had won since Conan was at Hogwarts, but it sounded like it had been going on for much longer than that.

Toby was incredibly thankful for the upcoming break, if only to get away from his dislikeable roommates and equally idiotic year group. Though, he wasn't looking forward to having to put up with his parents over the break. His grades had been... less than satisfactory and he didn't suppose for a moment his parents would take it well. Not that he had failed anything. Of course not that. But he still had only achieved a bunch of A's and E's. He was in pretty much a bad mood, the only highlight being that Slytherin had won the house cup as well as the Quidditch cup that year (not that he had really done anything to help with either of those things). Around him people were starting conversations, though Toby didn't say anything, just silently trying to reach across the table to grab some food.

Vanity ran her fingers through a loose curl, trying to arrange her hair in a neater way. She had tamed them pretty well before the feast, but a few strands were escaping her braid. She wished June hadn't asked her where in Italy she was going, because Vanity didn't really know many places in Italy. She knew lying was most effective if you were specific and a bit obscure, but she had to make do with what she could come up with. "I don't know, probably Rome." She said as if she came there weekly. She put the few loose curls behind her ear. June was even more vague about what she was doing, saying she would 'perhaps' go on a trip, but not specifying where. Vanity felt a bit more confident in her lie about Italy. It wasn't really a lie, for all she knew they might go there. She wrinkled her nose when the girl boasted about taking all classes upcoming year. She knew June was a year ahead of her and she would be taking electives. "All of them? Why would you do that?" She asked, judgment clear in her voice and expression.

@June Davenport

June listened to the girl answer and it didn't seemed like things were all fixed. Perhaps she was just making this up and tried to make an impression. June knew people wanted that, they looked up to her obviously. She could not blame them. She had been to Rome herself with her family once. '' You have a lot of nice shops with clothes, so make sure to stop by one of them. It's great. '' June than added, wondering if the girl would even go there. She put an piece of hair behind her ear and took an sip of her orange juice. She wasn't that hungry put took an piece of toast an chicken. As the girl replied. June at least knew she was not lying. She watched her with an smirk. What an dumb question. '' Yes all of them.'' June replied with an smirk. She put down her juice and looked back at the girl. '' Why not? If you want to be at the top you have to take all you can.'' June put an bit of confidence in it, she could tell that she was gonna be if she wasn't already the best. But next year would be very clear. '' So how was your first year?'' June than asked the girl. June than asked the girl, just straight ahead to see if the girl did anything which was not useless. But she had an feeling it wasn't because of her Slytherin had won the housecup.

Anisha looked up in surprise when someone other than Raafe answered her, but quickly smiled at the younger boy who had asked the question. She actually had an answer for him, as she had spent some time studying the trophies in the trophy room. As usual, Anisha was eager to show off what she knew. "Oh, it's been ages." She said with a roll of her eyes as she turned to the boy. "Like five years or something. But before this Slytherin streak, it was Gryffindor that won. A few years in a row, actually. I think they had a similar streak back then" She said with a grin. "So I figure if anyone can defeat the Slytherins. It's us." She glanced at the Hufflepuff table. "For example, I think it's been like a decade since Hufflepuff won." She said in a slightly lowered voice. "They're not going to knock Slytherin off their pedestal anytime soon."

@Conan Elliott

Vanity nodded vaguely as June said something about nice clothes shops in Rome. Obviously, there were clothing stores there, everyone knew that. Vanity doubted June had been to Rome herself, but she decided to keep that to herself. She huffed as the girl had the audacity to smirk and look all proud about her choosing to take all the lessons. She stabbed a piece of potato with her fork and ate it as she listened to June talk all high and mighty. "I mean, I guess if you don't want to have any time for a social life." She said with a shrug. "It sounds pointless to me. Some of those classes are like, dumb." Who wanted to willingly take Arithmancy? Of all things? She frowned a bit at June's tone as she asked about her first year. "It was great, actually. I got lots of house points, and I learned a bunch of spells. Made loads of friends too." She said, even though she was exaggerating quite a bit. It wasn't like June could check.

Marley had really enjoyed her first year at Hogwarts. She had made a few friends and was awed by the world of magic. However, she was a bit excited to be back at home. She couldn't wait to see her dad again and tell him all about Hogwarts and all. Though she was going to miss her friends, but she knew she'd see them again. Marley tried her best to listen to the headmaster, but it was a bit boring. She clapped when everyone else clapped. Luckily, it wasn't long before the speech was finished and they were able to eat. Once the food appeared onto the table, she grabbed a few of the food that intrigued her and took a few bites. "Hey Callie, you got any plans this upcoming break?"

@Callie Cardoso

Another year had gone by and Conan was surprised it went by with a flash. He guessed he had a pretty good year. However, Conan wasn't sure how to feel about going home. Now that his parents were divorced, it was weird to come home to. Conan didn't bother listening to the headmaster, as it was usually the same thing each year, but clapped when everyone else clapped. He was a bit bummed that they hadn't won the house cup this year. It had seemed that they were close-ish this year. He hoped that a different house won next year though. Conan quickly grabbed his food before everyone else could take his share.

Another year had gone by and Josh wasn't sure about the upcoming break. Sure it was nice to see his friends, but then he remembered the chat that he and Senna had about their muggle friends, and it had made him a little nervous. He rarely saw his muggle friends because of school, and he could tell that the distance between them kept going further and further away. Josh didn't listen to the speech, it was totally boring. Josh got a hold of a few food pieces, but not much as he usually did as he was thinking about the upcoming break a little nervously.

Abby thought her year was okay. She spent time with her friends and was doing okay in classes. She wasn't as shy or nervous about school as she was in the previous year which was good. The Gryffindor listened to the headmaster, clapping along with everyone else. Abby wasn't surprised that they hadn't won this year. It seemed Slytherin had a strong winning streak. The food had finally arrived. She waited until everyone else around her took their share of their food before she got some of her own. "Hey Rosie, excited for break? Any plans?"

@Rosie Archer

In all honesty, her sixth year wasn't what she was expecting. It had been filled with a lot of downs, but she guessed that she was hoping that her final year at Hogwarts would be different. A happy different. Though it was going to be a bit different that Nolan wasn't coming back here next year. However, she was nervous about the upcoming break. The whole divorce between her parents was messy and it was a bit awkward. She didn't know what was going to happen during her break, but she was nervous about it. Molly tried her best to pay attention to what the professor was saying. She clapped and cheered for everyone else, even though she didn't really know the people that had gotten top house points, she was still happy for them. It wasn't long before the speech had come to an end and they food had arrived. Molly waited for everyone else to get what they wanted, before she grabbed her food. Molly spent most of the night barely eating, mostly playing with her food with her fork, thinking nervously about seeing her parents.

It was official. This was Nolan's last feast. He knew he wasn't coming back next year, and it had felt a bit odd for him. Nolan was for sure going to miss his friends, but he had hoped that he could hang out with them after Hogwarts. However, he wasn't sure what to think about coming home. He was nervous. The whole divorce between his parents was just... awkward and messy. The Hufflepuff listened carefully to the headmaster as he spoke, but had zoned out a couple of times. It wasn't long before the food had arrived and they were able to eat. "Look at us, we made it" Nolan says to Eugene, as he pats his friend's shoulder.

@Eugene Nestor

Lucy nodded, listening to Audrey. Studying - she should probably do that too, though she hadn't really planned on doing much. She was pretty happy with her grades but maybe getting a head start on next year wouldn't be too bad. Who knows, she might even get bored somehow during the holidays. "Oh, that doesn't sound too bad. Flying is fun!" Lucy realised that was probably a simplistic way of putting it as she said it but she didn't quite have the right words. "I don't really have any plans either - nothing solid, at least. Going to try and convince my parents to go on a hike with me but we'll see how that goes." Lucy was cautiously optimistic - maybe if she pushed how her grades were pretty decent they'd go for it.

Tempest was glad to see Slytherin had won the house cup yet again, and she felt pretty confident in the fact that her dueling tournament win had contributed quite significantly to their points percentage. It may have only been about 1%, but seeing as Hogwarts didn't teach the students math, the Slytherin was content living with the fantasy. As they announced the highest points earners, Tempest wondered how much extra she would have to try to get anywhere near having her name announced. She was quite sure that it would never be possible unless; those people had to secretly be Slytherins or super smart. Once they all began to eat, Tempest listened to June and another girl talk. She knew she was a first year but had never spoken to her, and suddenly, Tempest's high was dwindling as she heard the girls talk about vacations and June ambitiously wanting to take every class. Tempest had never been on a vacation before; she didn't even know what they were until she came to school because her parents kept her locked in their house all break. But things were changing at home, and maybe she could convince her mother to take them somewhere as exciting as Paris.

Tempest snorted as the girl took a dig at June; she agreed that socializing was important, but it's not like she did much of it anyway. "Sometimes I think June's in the wrong house," she said to the girl as she grabbed a spoonful of some salad mixture. "Taking all the classes. What are you trying to prove, June?" she teased her friend, but there was a hint of genuine curiosity to her question. It's not like you got an extra diploma for all that work. And some of the classes didn't even have real magic in them. "I'm Tempest," she said, turning the girl before June could respond. Sometimes, being friends with June was complicated for Tempest, but the Slytherin also had never really had a real friend. In her mind, this was a friendship. @June Davenport @Vanity Mettlestone

As June watched the facial expression of the girl she tried to observe her some. But the fact was that this was another girl who she didn't liked. But most people here were dumb, brainless and June didn't understood how they were spending their time. She would not be suprised if she would be an quidditch lover. As the girl tried to be funny or something June insulted the girl in her mind. And smirked, it was so funny that people were always jealous of her. They were just impressed, since they could never. It was not completly something she disagreed about, but if you looked at the heta omega activities you could decide for yourself what was fun. June didn't thought that was. '' When you are on top of everything. You can combine it all.'' June said confidently. '' And depends on what you like. Most of the activities are very childish.'' June than said an bit less out in the open. She didn't even felt the need to defend something here, since it was no use. She could only enjoy her being jealous. And the girl explaining how her year was made June wonder if she was now trying to impress her. She hadn't seen the girl much in the library. Before she could And also June didn't envy her, since she hated most of the people in this school. And pretended she didn't. Only a few were interested enough to hang out with.

When she could reply to that Tempest suddenly mixed in the conversation but that was not an suprise. Ofcourse she had heard her speaking about the classes. As she watched Tempest back with an smug on her face. June liked Tempest mostly, but she also had the feeling her friend tried to prove or shown others desperately that she was there as well. Since people could forget her, when June took al the spotlight. June thought the girl should have known what she thought right now and how much she also had an secret agenda. '' But I'm not. Too bad for you Tempest.'' June replied back teasing. '' How could you else survive with our dormmate?'' And took another sip from her juice and smiled before putting it back on the table.
'' Nothing. What is already known. ''
June said confidently and left Tempest with that to find out. She could ask the girl back, but let it sink in first. June would love people hearing her name next year in this ceremony, and see the faces of these girls. But she liked Tempest for just being direct. Vanity not so much.

Aurora glanced at Isodora as she began talking to her. Though to the question she gave a shrug. "Oh, I don't know yet," Aurora said. "Probably nothing too exciting, just spending time with Soren, my family, sleeping in a little." she replied. They didn't tend to go places, but she never minded that really. "You?"
@Isadora Novak

Rosie smiled at her best friend and nodded eagerly. "I'm excited to get back to my garden, and see Bran," she said excitedly. She knew that for some going from one garden to another was maybe not what others thought would be good fun, but to Rosie it was. It was exactly what she enjoyed doing. "You?" she asked, keen to know if Abby was excited for the break and if she was doing anything with it.
@Abigail Payne

Fraser glanced at the boy who ended up replying. He smiled widely. "Wow! That's so cool," he replied excitedly. "I'm going to visit my family in Scotland," he said as excitedly. "Hopefully spend some time with my sisters and go to a quidditch game or two," he added. He wasn't sure if his dad would be playing but he was keen to go to any game he could. "Have you snowboarded before?"
@Teddy Pirrip

Eugene glanced at Nolan and gave a wide smile. "Right?!" he agreed. He couldn't believe it, couldn't believe they had graduated, they would be leaving, that they were done. "Look at us," he laughed brightly as he said it. "What's your plan?" he asked, pretty sure that Nolan's plan wouldn't be too dissimilar to his own.
@Nolan Burke
