Y37 Hufflepuff Practice S1

The gap between him and the snitch was still pretty big, but Elliot stayed on it, dodging and weaving past the chasers try to cut it off as the snitch took off further down the pitch.

Tilly knocked away one of the bludgers, which had been creeping closer to Elliot. Her insides were a bit more settled now, but she knew she would be heading straight to her dorm after practice was over.

Distantly, Elliot heard the sound of a bludger being hit, glancing just quickly enough to see Tilly had been helping protect him before train his eyes back on the snitch. He was getting closer, but he still need to work hard to close the gap before it managed to get any further away.

Connor stayed glued to Lucas's side, hoping to keep the young alternate safe.

The snitch took a sharp turn and suddenly shot back behind Elliot. Groaning, he banked quickly as well, annoyed at his lost ground again as he took off in pursuit. Elliot knew he was distracted keeping an eye on the team, but it was discouraging to not have caught the snitch yet. He hoped it didn't bode badly for how the rest of their season would go.

Bludgers were pesky, ornery things. Good thing Tilly could match their attitude. She slammed one away and realized it would be much trickier doing this with twice the number of players.

Still trying to catch up to the snitch after it had doubled back, Elliot pressed closer to his broom, hoping it might help him catch up and finally snag the snitch.

Connor stayed close to Lucas, batting away a bludger that had gotten a bit too close, trying to keep the young seeker safe.

Abian laughed as Hunter managed to steal the quaffle from him, and he gave chase. He barely noticed the other commotion on the pitch until Hunter was hit by a bludger. They were really starting to have an effect on the practice. Abian turned to chase Lillith as she managed to get the quaffle, though he didn't make a move to steal it. He rather hoped one of the younger chasers would attempt another goal.

The snitch had been very elusive all practice, and Lucas was having some trouble focusing too. He was glad Connor stayed near him, he felt more safe with him protecting him. He gave the older boy a grateful smile, then resumed his search for the snitch.

As Elliot turned, he had to wince as the sun got in his eye, scrunching his eyes shut for a moment. By the time he'd opened them again, the snitch was gone and Elliot bit back a curse, hovering for a moment to regain his bearings.

Hunter was a little surprised when Lilith stole the quaffle from him "Hey not fair I wasn't expecting that" he said half chuckling and chasing her to steal the quaffle back.

Connor returned Lucas's small smile, pleased he could do something to help his teammate out. He stayed nearby, hoping to keep Lucas safe from bludgers for a while longer.

Elliot could feel the disappointment and frustration from losing the snitch again building, so he took a lap of the pitch, checking in on the team and re-centering himself before trying again.

linden watched as the players played against each other. snatching the quaffle and hitting bludgers towards and way from each other and searching for the snitch. he hovered watching. it seemed like he had been forgotten in the midst of all the madness. part of him wished he hadn't tried out fo keeper. or rather he wished that he had a year or two as an alternative so he could learn from someone else instead of figuring things out for his own. sure he had been the goalie on the football team but the goals were different and the techniques certainly were different. given that one of the goals were twenty foot in the air. "umm Eliot, it there anything I can do to practice?" he called across the pitch to the captain who was closest to him.

Lucas started to feel more secure again with Connor following him, and he looked around for the snitch with a bit less fear of bludgers.

As he followed alongside Lucas, Connor noticed a bludger getting dangerously close to the younger boy. Zipping ahead, Connor swung his bat firmly, sending the ball flying with a sharp crack. He hadn't been aiming for anyone in particular, shocked when his shot actually connected with one of the new chasers. "SORRY!" Connor called out to the boy quickly, hoping he hadn't been hurt too badly.

After flying around for a while, Lillith decided to try and score again. Linden seemed to be distracted, talking to one of the captains, so she took advantage of this and quickly threw the ball into the hoop before the keeper could react. Her aim seemed to be getting better, because this one luckily flew right through the hoop. As she turned around to celebrate, she saw that Hunter had been hit by a bludger. "Are you okay?!" She shouted. He had been hit twice by a bludger and those things hurt.

Tilly noticed another bludger wallop Hunter. She felt a little sorry for him, but at the same time found herself hardening against the reality of bludgers in this game. It would be boring without them. Besides, they couldn't exactly float around and fuss over their opponents in a real game of Quidditch. Her own body smarting, she went after the next bludger.

Abian winced as Hunter got hit by another bludger, he hoped the boy was okay. He saw Lillith had scored, and was glad about that, but was also glad that she went to check on Hunter. He himself grabbed the quaffle and tucked it under his arm, waiting to see how Hunter was doing before proceeding.

Lucas winced as Connor hit a bludger at Hunter, especially because it had been a bludger that had been near him. He hoped the younger boy wasn't too hurt.

Tilly hit another bludger and kept flying. There was definitely less power in her swings by now.

Hunter was hit by another bludger, this one hurt a bit more but he was fine "I'm fine! I'm fine" he said so everyone could keep the game going.

Connor kept a tight hold on his bat, still feeling guilty for having struck Hunter. Now that he wasn't one of the youngest players on the team, he felt much, much guiltier about hurting younger kids.

Tilly followed one of the bludgers, which appeared to have gotten a bit slow and lazy. She hammered it towards the ground with a smack. Being a bludger, it turned itself around and worked its way back to the group of players.
