Y37 Hufflepuff Practice S1

At some point Elliot must have lost Connor, but he was focused on not losing track of the snitch again. There was still a large gap between them, but Elliot was hopeful if he could keep track of it he'd be able to head it off.

Hunter caught the quaffle that was thrown by Amy and tried to score again, but Linden was able to defend again. This was not going well for Hunter. Hopefully the actual match would be better than this practice

Connor shot towards a bludger and swung at it, aiming for Lucas this time, but again his shot flew wide of his target, and he sighed in frustration. He definitely would have felt guiltier hitting the younger boy than he did about hitting Elliot, but the failures weren't doing great things for his confidence.

Tilly dove after an oncoming bludger and clobbered it as hard as she could. It flew past a handful of her teammates but ultimately hit no one.

Connor adjusted the grip on his bat slightly as he flew on, keeping a close eye on the positions of other players around the pitch as he tried to figure out his best next move.

Lillith had hold of the ball and passed it around to the other chasers, always moving to make sure she could keep ahold of her position even when moving around.

There were a lot of bludgers flying around which was making it hard for Elliot to stay after the snitch. He pulled up short when Tilly knocked one near by, not wanting to risk getting hit again, but sighed as he lost track of the snitch.

Connor flew on until he reached the bludger Tilly had hit, deciding to try and trip up his fellow Beater by sending it back at her. He struck the ball hard but his bat didn't quite connect at the right angle, sending the ball flying harmlessly up and away.

Taking a break from being disappointed about the snitch, Elliot paused to check on the team, pleased to see that everyone seemed to be playing well together so far.

Not having had any luck on the offensive, Connor decided to return to Elliot's side for a while, catching up with the seeker and shadowing him with his eyes peeled for any nearby bludgers.

Tilly had to admit she was getting pretty tired. She needed to practice, and often, to get herself into the best shape she could before the first Quidditch game. Her arms were jelly as she pulled up by @Lillith Montgomery, blocking a bludger that was headed her way.

It was good to see the beaters getting some time on the defensive as well, and Elliot appreciated when Connor returned to shadow him for a time as he resumed his own search for the snitch.

Connor stuck close to Elliot's side as the seeker flew on, circling slightly in the hopes of deflecting shots no matter what angle they came from.

Elliot knew he was distracted keeping an eye on the team, but he was starting to get a little discouraged at his lack of success at staying on top of the snitch. He tried to hope maybe it was a good sign though. Last year practice had gone amazingly but he'd choked during the games, so maybe this year things would be different.

Hunter grabbed the quaffle as Lilith passed it to him and again tried to score, an impossible thing it seemed as he once again failed to score. He wasn't really understanding what was wrong with him, he kept failing to score, he had to put his head in the game!

Connor spotted a bludger getting a bit too close to Elliot and smacked it away, sending it sailing harmlessly off into the air, smiling in relief.

Elliot flinched when he heard the sound of a bat connecting with a bludger, relieved to see it was Connor defending him and not the other way around. "Thanks," He said, catching his breath and refocusing on checking the pitch.

Enthused by the praise from Elliot, Connor chased after the bludger he had batted away, checking his angle before swinging hard again. He was pleased for roughly half a second when he saw the shot connect with the young alternate seeker, immediately followed by crushing guilt. "SORRY LUCAS!" Connor called out, cringing at the thought of hurting him.
@Lucas Fletcher

Elliot had turned his head when some movement had caught his eye, so he missed the bludger hit until he heard Connor apologizing. He swiveled some, checking to make sure Lucas was alright after getting hit as well. Being a target for bludgers was Elliot's least favorite part of being seeker, and he hoped Lucas was going to be able to withstand a lot of hits coming his way.

Abian watched as the younger chasers passed the quaffle and Hunter tried to score. He gave the boy an encouraging smile before focusing on the quaffle again. Lillith passed it on to Hunter. He saw the boy try to score again and get frustrated, andAbian flew over to him. "You're doing well, don't stress out about one practice." He told him encouragingly. While distracted by this, he missed how a bludger had hit the new alternate seeker. He winced a bit. It was looking to be a rough practice for new members of the team. Abian flew off to grab the quaffle, then passed it to one of the other chasers.

Lucas was managing to block out more of the other players the longer he focused just on getting the snitch. He flew around, scanning the field until he suddenly heard a sound coming nearer. He looked up to see a bludger heading his way. He only had time to yelp before it hit him, throwing him off course. Ow, that hurt. He blinked away tears, grimacing. Then he gave a thumbs up in the general direction of Connor to show he was okay, even if he wasn't sure if he felt okay.

Amy hung back for a little bit, giving the others a chance to hang a turn, before catching to Quaffle Abian had thrown to her. Flying towards the goals, she threw and missed. Bummer, she thought. She wasn't having a great shot at scoring. At least she hadn't been hit by a bludger yet, she thought as the new seeker alternate got hit by one.

Guilt sat heavy in Connor's stomach as he returned to Elliot's side, hoping to practice defending again for a while. He had never felt bad about hitting members of opposing teams, but something about swinging at his own teammates felt so much worse.

Hunter grabbed the quaffle after Amy tried to score and this time instead of trying to score he passed it to another chaser.

Lillith froze as another bludger headed her way, she ordered her body to move but it felt like she was a deer in headlights. Luckily as she braced for impact, Tilly hit the bludger away from her. “Thanks Tilly.” She said. In her line of vision she could see the new alternative seeker getting hit by a bludger. Lillith winced as he got hit, she could tell he was hurt, similarly to how she was. She turned her focus back on the game, the pain from her shoulder lessening slightly as time went on. She watched as some of the chasers shot the quaffle and passed it around. She received it from hunter and took another shot. It missed once again, it seemed they weren’t having much luck in terms of scoring.
