Y37 Hufflepuff Practice S1

Tilly was relieved when Amy said she was OK. She punted the next bludger to the other end of the pitch, away from the other players.

The snitch still eluding him, Elliot tried to take his focus off the time for a moment, trusting Abian to have things handled so he could focus instead on a methodical, slow sweep of the pitch.

Staying close to Elliot, Connor shot forward to whack another bludger away. He had been aiming for Lucas again, but the ball shot past him and struck @Linden Cullen instead. "SORRY!" Connor called out, heart sinking.

After a quick break they were all back in the game again and Hunter cheered as Amy scored. He flew beside Lilith and she passed him the quaffle, he aimed at the hoop and threw the quaffle. Luck was not on his side today as he failed, once more.

After the break, the team seemed ready to go again. Abian cheered for Amy when she managed to score, then winced when Tilly hit a bludger at her immediately after. He flew near Lillith as she flew with the quaffle.

Lucas had hoped to catch the snitch quickly after the break, but he saw no sign of it. He sighed, and kept on looking.

Actually being able to take a moment to slow down and actually look, Elliot's heart leapt when he spotted the snitch lurking down by center field. It was closer to the ground than Elliot would have liked, but he shot after it anyway, not wanting to loose track. Going into a dive, Elliot managed to pull up just in time, the snitch clasped tight in his hand and he grinned proudly.

Connor's eyes widened as Elliot sped up and he pushed himself onwards in response, chasing after the seeker to protect him in his run for the snitch. To Connor's relief Elliot caught it, and he clapped for the captain happily, slapping his bat against his free hand. "Way to go!"

Elliot released the snitch, glancing over pleased to see Connor had managed to keep up. "Thanks, nice flying too," He said sheepishly. It was a bit distracting to have a beater tailing him, but Elliot appreciated the security after all the bludger hits last year.

Tilly grimaced as Connor's bludger pelted Linden, the keeper. Normally, Keepers didn't get much heat from the beaters. She hoped he was OK. Then, she noticed that Elliot had caught the snitch again, much more quickly this time.

Tilly knocked away another bludger and circled near the chasers.

Elliot was feeling a bit better about things now, feeling like he may have finally shaken off the holiday rust and was getting back in form. The rest of the team seemed to be doing okay as well, though Elliot spared a few extra moments to keep an eye on the players who'd recently been hit before resuming circling the pitch.

Feeling playful, Tilly vaulted a bludger at @Connor Holland to see if he would return it. Thankfully, it didn't hit him.

Elliot swerved some as Tilly knocked a bludger near Connor. It wasn't really in any danger of hitting him, but Elliot didn't mind being overly cautious just in case.

Abian grinned and cheered for Elliot when he grabbed the snitch again. He was glad things were turning around for his co-captain. He followed after Lillith again, trying to support her.

Lucas was glad that Elliot managed to catch the snitch, but he was starting to feel a bit unsure about himself. He hadn't caught as much of a glimpse of it yet.

Looping the pitch, Elliot tried to take things slow, methodically checking each part of the pitch as he flew past.

Following a glimmer of something, Elliot abruptly changed directions, shooting after the movement almost blinding hoping it might be the snitch.

Tilly couldn't help yawning after whacking the next stray bludger. Her body demanded a nap, but she was determined to finish the practice out.

Elliot was relieved that the movement had indeed been the snitch, but now he had to just keep up with it. He shot across the pitch, willing himself and his broom on. The team had had a great practice, but Elliot could tell everyone, himself included, was getting tired and slowing down.

Practice will close in a few hours, get in your final posts 👏

Elliot sighed as he pulled up, completely loosing sight of the snitch. He glanced around the field to check on the team before checking his watch. They'd all played amazingly and he was hesitantly hopeful about their first game coming up. It had been a strange feeling to have the team listening and actually following his and Abian's instructions, but they had done so beautifully.

Fishing out his whistle, Elliot blew on it, getting the team's attention as he drifted lower towards center field. "Alright everyone, good job today, let's call it there," He said once he had everyone's attention. "You were all great, seriously. Don't forget to stretch and warm down before turning in," He said, glancing around to start collecting the balls before he could head down to the lockers with the team.
