Sierra was incredibly excited to be starting at new year at HNZ, and even more excited to be running the Gryffindor Quidditch team alongside Lysander. He was such a cool dude, and she was so sure they were going to have such a great time together, and build the bestest team ever. They already had a solid team, and she was stoked that she was going to be able to play every game this time 'round.
Standing next to her co-captain, Sierra waited until the hopefuls gathered around them, before calling out to them. "Welcome everyone! My name is Sierra Woodlock, and this right here is Lysander Summers, and we will be your captains this year!" She started off excitedly. "Umm, when you're ready just come on up and give us your name and what position you're trying out for, but returning players, you can just go warm up and help out and stuff! Okay yay! Have fun, but more importantly let's go kick some butt!"

OOCOut of Character:
Returning players are guaranteed their spot, so long as they post an attendance before try outs close, however, returning alternates, please try out again!
First years must PM me or Lysander Summers if they want to try out, however this will only happen if we don't get enough older players!

Lysander was stoked to be in charge of a try-out for a change. It did mean that they were without Jacob, and the reality that they’d never get to be beaters together in another school match was still settling in, but he’d been too busy with Sierra to really linger on it. Instead he stood there with a clipboard and quill, trying to look somewhat authoritative despite being younger than a lot of the other team members, still. He pretended to be writing some really important notes or something on his page, though the reality was more so that he was just doodling shapes into the margin while Sierra talked. He searched the crowd for Emma, giving her a small thumbs up, and focused his attention on the rest of the crowd when his co-captain finished speaking. “Yeah, Gryffindor! Show us what you’ve got!” He added, with not much else to really say that hadn’t already been said.

Nikko tried to remain calm and he made his way to the quidditch pitch and tried even harder not to think about how disappointed he had been to not make the team last year. But he want about to give up just yet. He had been practicing a lot since coming back to school since practice at home over break wasn’t really an option for him. He just hoped this year he’d be able to play and not just write about it for the school paper.

Taking a deep breath he stood in front of the captains. “My name is Nikko Blackwood and I’m trying out for keeper.” He said, trying to sound confident. It was the posturing he had tried out for last year. He had thought he has done well but he was more prepared this time. Nikko kicked off from the ground and took up his spot in front of the northern hoops. He tried to relax and waited for the chasers to come. He got lucky and managed to block the first quaffle but it gave him the confidence to really get into the zone. He missed the second one but just barely, the tips of his fingers just brushing it slightly before it went through the hoop. All the flying practice had paid off and he was able to maneuver around the hoops quite quickly. By the end he had blocked way more then he had missed and he just hoped it would be enough to get him a spot on the team.

It was needless to say that Flynn had been incredibly hesitant about Quidditch try-outs. When he first arrived at Hogwarts he had been sure there was no chance he could ever make the team in his current condition, but after a couple of days, he had changed his mind and ever since had been practicing every morning to try and get back on a broom and flying properly. And while he was sure he needed more time, he couldn't let the chance to maybe make it this time pass him by. So he made sure he was wearing as much padding as possible, making it almost impossible for him to fit into his prosthetic leg properly. But he managed, hoping that the extra padding in there would help with the pain when it came to pushing back against the broom to keep his foot in place. And soon after he found his way down to the Quidditch pitch, swallowing anxiously as he wrapped his fingers around one of the school brooms, unable to stop himself from glancing from side to side at the rest of the competition.

"My name is Flynn North and I'm going to be trying out as a seeker," he spoke up when it came to his turn, trying to stand as tall as possible, not even mentioning his disability. Maybe they wouldn't even notice, maybe he could fit in and pretend that he didn't have the downside holding him back. All he had to do was get up in the air and prove he could be a good seeker, prove that he was good enough for the team. Swinging a leg over his broom, Flynn glanced back to help guide his right foot into the correct place as he had been practicing before rising higher in the air and instantly shooting off in search of the snitch. And of course, there were some issues, his right foot sometimes slipping off the bar, making his broom jolt slightly to the side every time with the sudden weight difference. But Flynn had been getting used to this, only taking a moment to slide his foot back up on the bar properly and just keep going. He just hoped no one would notice, he could do this, he had been practicing. But it was still hard work, weaving in and out of bludgers and the other players in his search for something shiny. And then he saw a flutter of wings by the hoops, heart jumping into his throat as he raced after the snitch, pulling up from a short dive, the snitch grasped securely in his hand. By the end of the practice, he was in quite a bit of pain as he landed again, but he wasn't letting it show, proud that he had done the best he could.

Aubrey was terrified, but she wasn't going to show it. She had sworn to do this, it's what she wanted. She held her head high, looking cool and confident. "I'm Aubrey Miller and I'm trying out for Beater." She announced when it was her turn, proud that her voice didn't crack.

She was more confident in the air. She had a perfect aim, and she was fast, but Aubrey didn't have an overly strong arm. She knew with time it would continue to improve, but for right now she was going to have to hope it was good enough to get her on the team. She was pleased with her performance when she hit the ground, and prayed it was enough to get her on the team.

Grace Baros was not sure about trying out for the Quidditch team. But, here she was, dressed to impress. She wanted to see if she had the same skills as her older brother Isaak. She sure did not have the dancing genes from her parents, since she tripped over her own feet all of the time. She always danced like she had two left feet. Grace was fed up with it, especially after Elsie's death. Now that Zennon was out of the school, all she had left was Rowan, who seemed to be more infatuated with her best friend, so she felt somewhat neglected. Grace walked onto the Quidditch pitch and up to the captain. She took in how pretty she was, before clearing her throat and said, "Grace Baros, trying out for beater." If Grace did not have the power to dance in her legs, maybe she could hit a couple of bludgers instead. Maybe her strength was in her arms?

She mounted her broom and hovered for a moment, before leaning forward to take off. She did a couple of laps, so that she could get warmed up. Now, was the fun part. Grace readied the bat, and looked about for bludgers. There one was. Grace smirked and flew after it. As soon as she was close to it, she swung the bat and hit it toward the nearest chaser. Her aim was true, but the bludger swerved at the last second. Grace groaned. Wait, maybe she was supposed to protect others? Well, she could focus on that too, she supposed. Grace flew about the pitch, occasionally hitting bludgers away from the other players. Her arms were sore by the time she was done, but she proved that she could hit bludgers away with not just her right arm, but left arm too.

As thrilled as Sully was for the new Quidditch season, he was a tiny bit disappointed that Jacob had picked Lysander as one of the captains instead of someone else. Like Noel. Or himself. He considered Lysander a good friend, but he seemed like such a kid and it rubbed Sully the wrong way that he was in charge now. Trying to shake it off, Sully wanted to focus instead on a new season to kick butt in and another chance at the cup. They'd come so close last year and it'd been a blast. Gathering around as Sierra and Lysander got started, Sully gave a cheer at the end of Sierra's speech, mounting onto his broom and kicking off to get in some much missed practice.

Ronald hear that they have a tryout for Gryffindor Quidditch and as he remember that 1st year he as outstanding grade in Flying class when he is at 1st sem last year, he try his luck and hopefully that he will be choosen.

Ronald so nervous to introduce himself but when he ready he speak loud and clear "My name Ronald Lazarao and Im going tryout become next Beater".

Ronald try to grab bat to his hand at the sametime his broomstick to ride, and try his 100 percent to strike the bludgers coming to him, Ronald remember that job Beater to protect their teammates and try his skills to give a shots at bludgers, at 1st attempt his pole is nice and try to target other to other opponent and try to distruct their chaser too and have a good eye sight their seeker that not to take snitch, at 2nd bludger so fast, above to his head but he spanking the bludger at the left side and when im try to strike with one hand and a fast command in my broomstick and when Im up and flying I see two bludgers in my left and right side, but Ronald try to avoid the bludgers left side and its happening with technique to his broomstick he try to beating at the right side he grab his bats with his two hands and strike the bludgers to left side to collide to the other bludgers and captain said that enough in finally back to ground and relax for a while and waiting for the goodnews, Ronald wish to become part of his quidditch team from Gryffindor my beloved house.

Emma's heart was hammering in her chest as she made her way to the Quidditch Pitch. She was incredibly nervous and excited at once, but mostly nervous. She had gotten a taste of what being on the team was like last year, but now that there was a beater spot free Emma really wanted to prove herself and become a proper member of the team. With her best friend as captain, she didn't think she should be as nervous as she was, but she knew Lysander would be fair. If she was bad, she wouldn't be picked. Probably. Emma finally stepped forward when it was her turn. "Emma van Houten, trying for beater." She said, taking a deep breath before mounting her broom. She was nervous because a few others were trying out for beater as well, and she wondered if she would be the best of them. She would simply have to be.

Emma kicked off and flew into the air. She had her bat tightly in her hand as she chased after a bludger. Emma swung at it, grinning as it made contact. It didn't hit any of the other players, but it wasn't a bad start. Emma whooped, then flew after it to hit it again. She missed, but kept going, determined to get it. This time, she hit it at someone and grinned even wider as it hit her goal. So far, so good. She then decided to show she could play defensively too, and spent a bit of time keeping the bludgers away from other people. She managed to hit a few more, though she missed one more time as well. When Emma was done, she flew down to the ground and dismounted her broom. She had tried her best, and now she just had to hope it was enough.

Chloë was more than excited to be back at school again and to be able to roll right back into quidditch. She had been practicing during the break, knowing that this year she wanted to do better, wanted to win even more than she had wanted to last year. She was also just happy to be back on the pitch, to see her friends again after the break and have a whole new year of playing together in front of her. This would surely be their year, she could feel it. Chloë happily waved at Lysander and Sierra as she entered the pitch, trying to stay back a bit so the kids trying out could introduce themselves. Once they were done talking she happily mounted her broom and pushed off into the sky, ready to get some practice in herself but also make sure the others trying out could show what they were worth. She spend some time passing the quaffle along with her friends, going for the hoops every now and then and managing to get a couple in. Even if she didn't have to try out she might as well make use of the time. She also made sure to keep an eye on how Emma was doing, grinning when she noticed her friend hit someone with a bludger. She had heard a couple of kids mentioning they were trying out for beater and she wished them all a fair chance, but if she was being honest she just really wanted her roommate to get it.

Noel was glad to be having another chance to beat Slytherin, they had to win this year. It was terrible that Slytherin even won without Liam all the team. Next to the competition he liked to play with his friends, also known as the chaser squad. He joined the rest on the pitch and smiled as he spotted Chloe and Sully. He smiled to Sierra and Lysander and excited duo to be sure and hopefully they would lead them to the win. It was though a bit strange they were younger but that didn't mattered. He put his fist into the air happy and jumped on his broom to be chasing the quaffle and train some.

Christian was...surprised by the choice of captains for the new season, Sierra had served the team well as their alternate seeker but he was surprised that an alternate had been made captain and Lysander was younger than about half the team and he wasn't sure how he felt about taking orders from a fourth year. Christian made his way out onto the pitch and went over to stand with the new captains and rest of the team. "Congrats on being picked as captains guys," He said to Sierra and Lysander, giving Sierra a hug.

More than ever, Knox wanted to be part of the Gryffindor quidditch team. Last year he discovered himself he loved playing quidditch and practicing with his teammates, loving the experience of flying through the air on his broom. But a welcomed addition to his love of quidditch and decision to try out again for the team that year was over the fact he now knew his brother once played for them years ago. Knox wasn’t sure of much of the details, and would have to look up old school yearbooks in the library whenever he got the chance, but he knew enough to want to try out for the quidditch team again, to be part of something that served a wider purpose and was fun in addition to everything else.
Smiling as he arrived to the pitch and spotted Sully and Chloe, Knox waved at them before listening to Sierra’s introduction and Lysander’s addition, smiling wider when it was finally time to try out. “Hey, Knox Ivers and I’m trying out for chaser.” Knox introduced, before flying into the air and flying after the quaffle. He did his best trying to support the players that had possession of the quaffle, while also attempting to intercept passes. He managed to eventually have the quaffle tucked under his arm as he reached the goal posts a couple of times, throwing the quaffle to them in attempts to score. Knox found he had more confidence than his last year as an alternate, that was for sure, and when he eventually touched back to the ground he was still smiling, happy to fly around with his friends on the team again even if it was brief.

Walking to Quidditch Tryouts, Skylar felt the butterflies in her stomach beginning to emerge. She knew she was a good flier, but she also knew there were so many other good fliers in Gryffindor, and she couldn’t help but doubt her skills in comparison to theirs. But she tried to keep a confident face as she listened to one of the co captains Sierra, speak about the tryouts. She knew there weren’t any Chaser spots available from what Lysander had already told her, but she was determined to try out for the Alternate Position at least, so maybe she could become a Chaser in the next year. She walked up to Sierra and Lysander, giving him a small wave as she approached since she was curious as to whether he remembered their small encounter last year. She grinned at the pair of co captains, hoping they’d see her enthusiasm before saying “Hey! I’m Skylar Anderson and I’d like to try out for the Alternate Position, as a Chaser.” She hoped she hadn’t forgotten anything, but it seemed fine so she gave the pair another friendly smile before walking back to her broom, excited for tryouts to properly begin.

As soon as they began, Skylar kicked off from the ground and began a brief warm up on the pitch. It was just one lap around the Quidditch Stadium but she immediately felt better than before. For one thing she’d seen her friend Blake cheering her on in the stands and she gave her a giant grin, pleased her friend had come to support her (although maybe she’d come for another reason as well, but that was to stay between them). But mostly, it was just the feeling of being up in the air again, feeling free and with the crisp wind in her face, so she knew she had made a good decision to come try out today, even if she didn’t end up being picked. She glanced around to see what was going on and noticed the other Chaser tryout-ers passing the ball around, so she smiled before flying over to them, and just in time to intercept a pass! She caught it with just the slightest amount of wobbling and grinned back at the others, pleased with how well she’d started off. She flew a bit closer to the hoops before passing to another chaser and cheering loudly as they scored. She gave another small whoop of delight, before circling back around and joining back with the rest of the chasers, excited to keep playing with them.

After what was quite possibly the most exhilarating hour or so she’d had in ages, she flew back down again, exhausted from dodging all the bludgers that had come at her during the practice but also pleased with how well she’d done. Now she could only hope that her best had been good enough to score her a position on the team.

Michael was ready to get back on the pitch. There were downsides to relocating half way across the world, even if he pretty chill about the whole situation. One of those negatives included having to tryout for a new Quidditch team who hadn't seen his hard work for the past three years. He'd play a few games but mainly served as alternate on the Hufflepuff team in Scotland; he was looking forward to being a full team member during his fifth year, but his family's relocation had thrown a wrench into those plans. He'd been practicing his skills during the summer as he stayed with the Jacobs but was still worried he wouldn't be quite up to par, especially since he didn't know the level the students in New Zealand kept up to.

When he wandered onto the pitch, slightly late, the girl he presumed was a captain was finishing up the instructions. He watched students take to the air and ran over to her and another boy. "Oy, sorry! I'm Michael Newton, and I'll be trying out for Keeper," he greeted, giving a nod and kicked off the ground. He waited until he had a turn in front of the goal posts and wandered back and forth, keeping an eye out for any strategies he noticed players using that he might be familiar with. He blocked the first few shots until one got past him on the left. He always called it his "weaker side," but his former captains didn't find that statement as amusing as he did when he let a quaffle score. He kept an eye on that side and ended up blocking four more quaffles while he let two more pass. Three goals in wasn't too terrible for unfamiliar weather and players. The more you played against students, no matter what house they were in, the more you tended to be aware of their habits. Hopefully, he would have the chance to learn that here. He made his way down to the ground and did a cartwheel while whooping as he headed back to the castle.

Try outs will close in a few hours, get those last posts in!
