SPOTIFY WRAPPED 2023!

Yay! It’s that time again when our Spotify wrapped rolls around for the year! Spotify Wrapped is one of my favourite times of the year and I’m always so excited to see everyone’s results! I’m also nosy and curious about other people’s music tastes hehe! If you don’t use Spotify but use a different music platform, share those results as well! I’m always curious!!

If you're unaware of what Spotify wrapped is, it's where every year around this time, Spotify basically releases your year's music stats! This includes the top five artists you've listened to the most, your top five most played songs, how many minutes of music you've played in the past year, and more! It's always a fun time when we get to see other people's music tastes!

Who are your top 5 artists this year? Have there been any changes in this year's wrapped since last year’s Spotify wrapped? Or are they the same? I’m so curious!!! and I love to see people's different music tastes hehe!

(I’ll share mine a little later as I am out at the moment hahaha! But I wanted to get this conversation started! hehe)

I used my Spotify like 3-4 times on 2 long car trips in February/March so I don't really count it, but I did pick the top artist...

...it was the band I went on Mastermind answering questions about. Specifically because I put on a playlist of their discography for the 3 and a half hour drive to the airport. So, not a surprise at all.

I fully expected that my wrapped was going to be way skewed because I play classical music whenever my baby naps during the day, but thankfully it didn't impact my stats too much

I didn't post my wrapped last year, but this isn't too far off from last year. I also got Vampire for vibe which makes sense based on my favorites, I think.

My wrapped was a weird one this year. My top songs were Very Skewed by listening to singles/eps and apparently wracking up the listen time haha. So don't look at those too closely

Besides I like the weird slides like "My Sound Town" the best, like what does that even mean????

Most years I usually have listening fixations through out the year and I can predict my wrapped pretty accurately but I didn't really have any this year, and the ones I did have were short enough not to make a dent in my reliable favorites. Truly shocked Olivia Rodrigo didn't make the cut lol. The boygenius on the other hand not a surprise at all.

I don't use Spotify bc I've been building my iTunes library since I was 12 and I don't wanna pay to rent music I already own I use last.fm for tracking though, and my top songs were uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I was sure I knew who my top two would be this year, either Conan Gray or Kylie Price, but unsure which way around.

But apparently, no. Taylor Swift (and Lorde) kicked them both out. It is interesting that the first Taylor swift song to make my top played anti-hero at 14th. which was probably from me just putting her on in the background while at home and playing for a day
It also seems like HNZ has influenced my playing, with @Ainsley Lynch recommending Kylie Price to me early in the year and @Harper Alston putting Palladium on the playlist in my last year's Secret Santa (which i still listen to a fair amount)

edit: apparently I played 2437 songs from 1190 artists across 29 genres. which seems like a lot for only 18,217 minutes listening.

I meant to post this earlier and then life happened. I also got Vampire (apparently many of us here like dark and moody music ), but my top artist is SOOOO skewed because I was in a musical meaning I was playing the soundtrack 24/7. (For those who are familiar, I played the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this summer, and she... narrates the entire show since there's no dialogue). But also my other music listens are just very gay so they definitely fit and make sense.

I keep my HNZ playlists on a separate account so my song suggestions/Wrapped don't get tainted by all of Celia's angsty dark pop and Weston's folk
