Core: One of the rarest of wands cores, thestral hair is not to be taken lightly as a wand core. Thestral hair is a tricky ingredient to work with and will not just bond with any caster. This core works best for people who have faced death in the past. Because of the fears of the creature from which it comes, rumours have abounded that thestral hair wands have no allegiance to the wand's caster.
Wood: An excellent wand wood for healing and non-verbal magic, the wielder of a Willow wand more often than not has an something about themselves which makes them insecure unnecessarily.

Cameron prefers to hurt first rather than let himself be hurt and comes across very prickly and defensive, his own insecurities making him react hostility first rather than leaving himself open to looking stupid or being vulnerable. He prefers situations where he can be in control and tends to achieve this by trying to cut down or invalidate those around him. That being said, Cameron still desperately craves the approval of those around him, he just doesn't quite have the social skills to get the friends and attention he wants. When he inevitably puts his foot in his mouth and it blows up in his face, Cameron retreats further and further into his own thorny shell.
When around those he's more comfortable with however, Cameron can be very social, eager to share things he knows or is excited about. It can be hard to get to this point however, as Cameron plays his own passions close to his chest and has a tendency to hold a grudge. Once slighted, he won't forgive or relax easily.

The son of a muggle woman and a wizard, Cameron's father died when he was very young, leaving Cameron with a magical legacy he had no idea how to fulfill. His mother had always admired and loved the magical side of her husband and once he passed, she ensured Cameron was still connected to the magical side of his family, often trying using Cameron as a link to the partner she'd lost. He's been told how much he takes after his father, though Cameron can't remember enough to know if this is true. Instead, he's always felt disconnected from his father and from magic. He showed no signs of magical talent as a child, and despite remaining in contact with the magical world even with his mostly muggle upbringing, Cameron feels like he was failing to live up to the expectations of his family.
In 2059 after struggling constantly in class, Cameron finally retired his father's hand-me-down wand and purchased his own.
