Cameron didn't see why everyone put so much effort into Halloween. It wasn't like the costume contest really did anything that mattered besides put your name in the yearbook, something that had way less appeal to someone like him who had to help put the damn thing together. Which was also the only reason Cameron was here too, to get pictures for said yearbook, considering Isadora was off probably doing whatever serious, boring Halloween they did up in Durmstrang and Margo had been acting all weird and intense about something else so far this year.

He'd been intending on lurking by the tent set up, hoping to catch some good photos of people getting jump scared or looking stupid in the mirrors, or maybe he could get a few snaps of people looking ridiculous bobbing for apples. Instead, he'd caught sight of the reflected lights of one of the Archer twins' costumes, skulking closer to where she was dancing on the dancefloor and raising his camera to take a few photos of her and that transfer student, noting absently as he watched them through the lens that they both looked really pretty.

Elvera had not tried hard with her costume this year. after as many halloween feasts as she had been to she had started to run out of ideas. and her costumes were on a cycle. this year she had gone simple. an old black dress, messy hair, heavy eye make up and red lips. she was a vampire.
She was wandering the hall playing supervisor making sure that the punch didn't end up pranked that students were behaving on the dance floor and that the younger students weren't getting scared too badly. she as just circling the dancefloor when she spotted someone with a camera. at first she thought hat it was part of their costume however she realised that he was taking a picture of people dancing. she watched him for a good minute snapping pictures of aurora and another girl on the dancefloor. she stepped in between the camera and its target. "excuse me. I think you need to either get consent from aurora and her friend before taking any more pictures or move your camera away from the dancefloor" she said. attempting to look stern.

Cameron frowned when someone blocked his view finder, opening his mouth to complain as he lowered the camera before flinching as he realized who was now standing in front of him. Great, now he was the guy getting told off in front of half the school. “It’s for the yearbook, I’m not doing anything wrong,” he said defensively, adjusting his camera to avoid making eye contact with Professor Le Fey. He knew she wasn’t a legilimens or anything, but her eyes still kind of creeped him out in a way that made him feel like she knew what he’d been thinking anyway. “Her dress is all sparkly, it makes it really hard to take proper pictures, that’s all,” he added, shoulders hunched over his ears.

Elvera saw the boy look at her and his annoyed expression quickly fall off his face. ahh because it being for the yearbook makes it better she said. Though her tone was clear that was not what she meant. you are right. It is a very sparkly dress. And the fact she is dancing on the other side of the dance floor probably isn’t helping. Maybe asking he to hold still while you take a picture for the yearbook will help she said.
