Vivid stars twinkled through white wisps of cloud overhead of those entering the Great Hall, shining brightly against the velvet darkness of space that blanketed the entirety of its ceiling, dominated by a single pale moon that bathed the room's entrants in a silvery light. The hall itself was further illuminated by flickering candle flames that appeared to sway and float in mid-air as if held aloft by invisible threads, bathing the building's lengthy tables adorned with shining dishes in a warm glow. Katherine herself stood positioned behind a podium at the forefront of the hall, greeting the youths who entered with a silent nod and a small smile. A sea of faces both new and old, from those here for their first year, to those here for their last.

"Welcome," Katherine began, her eyes sweeping over the sea of faces already gathered at the house tables, and those waiting to join them. "To those of you returning for another year, and to those of you joining us for the first time today. For many of you, this day marks the start of your journey as young witches and wizards in the magical world. The castle and its surrounding grounds will be your home for the next seven years - a place for you all to live, to learn, and to grow. That being said, I must remind the older students, and caution those of you who are new, that the Forbidden Forest is strictly off-limits to students unless supervised by a professor or member of staff. It may look enticing to some of you, but many dangers lurk within the forest. It is restricted for your safety, and any rule breakers will be punished accordingly."

The woman let her warning linger for a moment, eyeing those in particular who appeared more than willing to break that rule, before continuing on. "Now, let's begin. Each of you will be sorted into a house, which you will remain in for the duration of your time here. These houses are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, named after each of the original founding members of this prestigious school." As she spoke each name, banners rolled up against the farthest wall suddenly unfurled, depicting the colours and crests of each individual house, matching the silk cloths adorning each table. "First Years, as I call your name, step forward and seat yourselves here." Katherine gestured toward the short stool at the front of the hall, situated in perfect view of everyone present. "Once seated, I will place the Sorting Hat upon your heads, after which your future house will be decided and you are to move on to your table and join your new housemates. This decision is final, and houses cannot be changed once the Sorting Hat has made its decision. Now, let us begin." Ending it on that note, the woman unravelled the roll of parchment in front of her and called up the first name.

OOCOut of Character: Please Read
As stated in the Information about Sorting thread, you must fill out the sorting form entirely properly and fill in an RP as exemplified in the post. If your RP does not leave room for the sorting hat to sort you: you will not be sorted. If the sorting hat does not receive your sorting form: you will not be sorted. Follow instructions and: you will be sorted.

You can edit your post once you are sorted, but be sure that you only reply to this topic once and it is through the sorting form provided. Thank you.

The time has come now once again,
To greet you all in song.
New year, new friends, and all new faces,
In amongst the throng.

But who am I? The Sorting Hat!
I'm here to sort you all.
I'll tell you soon where you should go,
Be you great or small.

The bravest of you might become
Old Gryffindor's new pride.
Your bold, courageous housemates
Will always have your side.

Or Ravenclaw might better suit
Those clever of the mind.
Your wisdom will grow far here
if you're scholarly inclined.

In Hufflepuff the fair and true
Will find their closest friends.
A house made strong by working hard
To achieve their ends.

In Slytherin a cunning heart
Will see your goals succeed.
Your ambitions will be fostered
All subtle in your deed.

So try me on! I never bite
And hardly ever dither.
Your house awaits, as does the feast
So call the students hither!

Nora felt odd to be out of her home without her family around her. She had such a big family with her parents and all four of her sisters, Celia, Katie and the twins Lilian and Aliyah, since she was so used to them being around all the time that to suddenly not have them around at all was... quiet. Nora watched as a couple of others got sorted first, but she knew she would be fairly early on, since her name started with a B. She hoped people wouldn't put her name together with her mothers, it was bad enough that her mother was Emily Blythe, author, but to have people constantly asking about her was difficult at the best of times, especially when Nora felt like a failure since she barely even picked up a book unless she absolutely had to. The only books she read with any interest were anything to do with animals, so she knew all she could from those and it was the animal class she was most looking forward to. She knew a bit about the school from what her parents had told her, though neither had attended, her mother had gone to Hogwarts in Scotland, as had her father and they'd said it was probably pretty similar. Nora just hoped it wasn't entirely obvious who she was, though she could never hide her red hair no matter how she tried to hide it and they all had red hair like their mother, unfortunately.

"Blythe, Nora,"

Hearing her name sobered her, and Nora quietly stepped out in front of her peers to head over to the stool and have the sorting hat placed on her head. She'd not read any of her mothers books, least of all the one her mother wrote and named her after, but she supposed it was one of those things you couldn't escape from. She took a deep breath and waited for her fate.

"You don't need to think about your mother here, there's lots of other things to think about and where you'll do that best is in.....Hufflepuff"

Acre was not ready for this. Not to be thrown into a brand new world where absolutely nobody knew her name. On one hand maybe it would give her a chance to start fresh, to be whoever she wanted to be portrayed as. On the other side of the coin however she’d put in a lot of time and work to make the friends she already had from her muggle school, and now it was all thrown down the drain. All of it! She felt like a lemon stood there in a dull black robe surrounded by kids she didn’t recognise, although apparently as she heard that they would be sitting in a stool to be given their house by a hat, she turned her nose up. Dirty old hat. She couldn’t wait however for people to actually hear her name, but of course she was one of the very last people to be sorted since her name began with a Z of all things. Eventually it was time, and a smile appeared on her face when she heard the words she needed. Passing the remaining few students and sitting under the hat, she quietly told the professor beside her that she didn’t want the hat to actually touch her hair please, she didn’t want nits, and hoped that the sorting hat could still place her. Despite magic being in the family she didn’t really care where she ended up, she’d make anything work.

"I can assure you child, there are no nits here, just some dust and the wisdom necessary to know that while your desire for Gryffindor is strong, you will do much better in....Slytherin,"

Lenora had entered the Great Hall with her sisters but she hoped secretly that she would get to leave in a different House than them. They were such troublemakers that she was sure they would be sorted in Slytherin. She didn't care what House she was in as long as she could be free of them and perhaps make new friends without their interference. "Redfront, Lenora!" She jumped forward with a smile on her face when she her name called first. It made sense despite the fact that she was the youngest of her sister's since Alphabetically her name came first. She hummed the tune the old looking hat had sang as she walked forward suddenly finding all eyes on her.

She felt herself suddenly become nervous and tripped.
"Ow!" she exclaimed out loud in a bit of a whiny tone even though she wasn't really hurt that much. Her knees did ache a bit as she picked herself back up and continued towards the hat. Placing it upon her head 'Now everyone's going to see me as the girl that fell' she thought as she awaited the hat's decision. She hoped it wouldn't effect what house she would be sorted in but tried to remember that she didn't care as long as she got away from Lois and Lucille. "Please Mr. Hat, put them in a different house from me, they are mean and stupid" Lenora complained in a low tone so they wouldn't hear.

"Hmm....we'll have to wait and see where they end up, but you...yes...you'll get what you want...Hufflepuff,"

Looking impatiently, Zach waited for his call. Talking to someone was hardly to be enjoyed, as it would mean starting again with the spirit of "Hello, I'm Zach Easterling, are you also the first year to Hogwarts?" pentris. No, not to be misunderstood, the boy liked to meet, but in a calmer atmosphere. Not now, when I had to fight with my thoughts, what if Sorting hat doesn't tell him anything and he is locked up at home.

- Zachary Easterling! -

-Please, i don't wanna be Slytherin!- He asked the sorting hat and he wanted be with Anna. The breathing came jerkily - as if it were an artist. Zach automatically rushed past the other first-timers. At last there was only a free left until the hat. His legs seemed to have taken this subconscious thought crazy, literally, so he tended to run and braid in a black cloak. He successfully reached the sorting bench and sat on the bench.

"Hmmm...the truth is that you would do well in Slytherin you have a lot of ambition...but there's also a lot of creativity here, so if that's how you feel better be Ravenclaw,"

Caleb was indifferent about this whole experience. Honestly, he just didn't really care. He was going to be sorted before Nola though, which was fine he supposed, but he didn't really have any feelings towards it one way or another. After all, he'd only really thought about his magical education for all of about five seconds before he'd been sent here. He looked around at the halls a bit, not really sure what the big deal was, after all, it was just a school. He'd been to plenty of places that were similar and some that were different and honestly it was probably all the same really.

"Bennett, Caleb,"

With his name called, Caleb glanced sideways at @Nola Bennett and shrugged before yawning as he stepped up to the stool. He wasn't so happy about this being done in front of everyone, but he supposed that was what you got when your last name started with B - early. Could have been worse, he could have been the very first.

"This will be over soon enough, though you are little tricky, you could suit any of our dear houses.....hmm....you will adapt to anywhere, but where you will hopefully find some passion is Gryffindor,"

It couldn't be said that Alexa was scared like an aspen leaf all this time, but when the girl's name was heard, her heart trembled. At first slow and enjoyable, but after a while already reminiscent of the winged Vedas, which strike the body with all possible force. Yes, she was worried, but the long-awaited information after years about where Alexa would be sorted and, most importantly, whether the sisters would be in one place, did not leave the blonde's mind. One, step, two, faster and faster. She slipped on a chair and an interesting-looking hat leaned against Alexa's thought-filled head. She wondered what would happen if it were decided to put the girl, for example, in Ravenclaw, as her mother, but sister elsewhere. What would Anastasia do? Could she learn purposefully at all without the support of her best friend? What would parents say? There was a lot of thoughts in her head, but she received and waited for an answer.

"I think you'll manage just fine in Ravenclaw!"

Hester still didn't feel like this was the real world. She didn't know if this would ever feel like the real world. Even having held a wand in her hand, having seen all the magic in those shops, part of Hester still thought her brothers were somehow playing the most elaborate prank ever on her. A magic school? For witches? This couldn't really be happening. It all felt... deliriously real though, the train, the castle, the... magic in the air all around as she waited with rest of the new students, wondering what this school had in store for them. The doors ahead of them opened, and Hester couldn't help a loud gasp, pointing up in delight as the gaggle made their way far enough into the Great Hall for her to see the impossible brilliance of the ceiling overhead, stretching up into the night sky forever. That was magic. This was real. She stared upwards for a long, awestruck moment before the voice of the headmistress drew her attention back to earth.

Hester tried to pay attention to the headmistress's speech, she really did, but there were so many more interesting things to look at around this fascinating room. The tables lined with students... all in different colours? Hester wasn't quite sure what it all meant, she had never heard of houses before, and was quietly a little disappointed that if she got sent to a house she wouldn't get to live in a big magic castle. She was still definitely going to tell her brothers she did though, that was for sure. Thinking about her brothers sent a strange pang through Hester... though she had spent weeks prancing around the house smugly, basking in the fact that she was the only sibling magic enough to go to a real magic school, saying goodbye to them for an entire year had been a different thing all together, and now that she was off on her own, Hester found she missed them terribly already. All her life, Hester had never been alone before, and it was a strange feeling to experience now, in a room with hundreds of other kids. Other kids that, Hester realised as she started paying attention again, had started being called up one at a time to... try on a hat? Did... whoever the hat fit get to live in the castle? This whole process was terribly confusing, and Hester held her place, fidgeting as she waited for her own turn at... whatever this hat was doing to people. The more she watched the hat... talk, the more this started all to feel like a terribly funny dream again. The alphabet ticked away as the group around Hester shrunk and shrunk, and finally, after what felt like forever, the Headmistress reached the name Hester had been strangely afraid to hear.

"MacGillivray, Hester!"

Steeling herself, Hester stood up straight and marched her best march with her head held high as she crossed the room, not wanting to show an ounce of fear and uncertainty in the face of what had to be very powerful witches and wizards at the teachers table. She settled onto the stool and sat quietly as the hat was placed atop her curls, fists bunching in her robes as she waited for whatever the next step of this crazy journey was.

"You are definitely a force to be reckoned with. I know exactly where this drive and spirit need to go, Gryffindor!"

Most people didn't know, but secretly, Jemmy loved crowds. There was something about being lost in the crowd that kept her feeling like she was simultaneously being ignored and seen at the same time. A lot of people didn't like being lost in the crowd and she could totally understand that, but, there was just something about the feeling of terror and hope that she really enjoyed. Keeping herself hidden from her brother was an excellent bonus too. She could see him sitting at his Hufflepuff table trying to look for her, but she steadfastly refused to allow herself to be seen. She ducked and weaved around the other students as they moved about, waiting to get sorted. From what she was aware, she had no immediate cousins or family members being sorted this year, which was great for her, since she didn't want to be competing with her own family. She had her mind set on a goal and she knew there were going to be quite a few false starts, but she would get there in the end and honestly, that was probably the most important thing.

"Kaster, Jemima."

She'd not realised that they'd gotten to the K's so fast because she had been trying to keep her eyes focused on her brother who had now turned to grin at her. He gave her a weird look and she had a terrible thought that he knew something that she didn't. Well, that was certainly ominous. She bit her lip and headed up to the stool with the hat, feeling it slip over her eyes as she sat down. She didn't have a very big head, but she knew she'd probably end up being quite tall like the rest of her giant family. The Kaster's were easily six foot and over, so she had that to look forward too and she knew she had her mother's temper, they all did if you got them angry enough. It apparently was also a Kaster trait, which she supposed she was not too surprised to hear of. She settled comfortably in the chair. "Alright, let's do this thing, but please not Hufflepuff," she begged, looking over to her brother who was standing on his seat now, waving like a loon. "Oh, Merlin..."

"Interesting.....there's a lot of adventurous spirit here and lots of studious spirit.... though you don't want it, it is a near perfect fit for you, Hufflepuff,"

It was finally time for Lois to get sorted along with her sisters, Lenora kept standing too close to her so she had to keep pushing her away. Lois wasn't even sure how Lenora had found her and Lucy since she hadn't let them near the two of them on the train or when they had gotten off and made their way to the school. She was such a Goober always trying to follow them. Luckily the Sorting hat soon called her name and Lois smirked at the thought that she might get seven whole years away from the little pest. She laughed at loud when Lenora fell and quickly closed her mouth upon seeing the look given from one of the Professors.

The problem unfortunately was that it was also likely that Lucy could be sent to a different house as well since all three were very different.
"Listen Lucy, no matter what happens, I'm your sister and your mine. If anyone gives you crap just find me and I'll give em a good punch" Lois whispered to her older sister before hearing.

"Redfront, Lois"

It was her turn to step forward, she hadn't even noticed what House Lenora had gotten sorted into and frankly didn't care. It was actually strange that she was going 2nd for once considering she was typically the last one to get anything as the middle child. She didn't mind Lucy getting things, it was the brat that didn't deserve all the attention and praise she often got from her annoying mother. She walked up to the stool and placed the hat on her head 'Alright Hat whatcha got for me?' Lois thought as she waited for it's decision.

"Hmmm...what I've got for you is a decision easily made...Gryffindor"

The train ride had been special and Rosemarie didn't seem to be ready for everything that was happening now. She had left the garden to her mother and thus she now only had the plants she had with her in her trunk. She had heard that there was a big ceremony that would appoint the houses to the students. Rosemarie didn't know the houses, she hadn't read much about Hogwarts anyway. The one thing she was interested in was Herbology. Learning that there is a whole subject for magical plants had made Rosemarie overjoyed and she now was happily walking in the halls of the old castle. The garden in front of the castle had been amazing and the roses seemed to be in bloom.

Rosemarie wasn't alone and there was a whole group of students with her. All future first years probably, Rosemarie looked around and spotted Marlee. Now she felt more safe and was ready to do this. In one hand she held a pot of clovers. Something to bring her luck, she had grown them herself. The hallway ended in a big hall. This school finally felt real and she was going to work hard to achieve something in the subject field she was aiming for. Once there the headmistress, it seemed she was the headmistress began her speech.

It all sounded amazing and then the moment was there. They were sorted on their last names and that meant Rosemarie would be one of the first people to get sorted. ''Chatwin, Rosemarie'' Suddenly her name was called and now she had to walk towards the stool. She was nervous to say the least, but she didn't know why. She walked up to the stool and sat the pot of clovers on her lap. A hat was placed on her hat, the same hat who had sung at the beginning of this ceremony. Rosemarie wondered if that was the kind of magic she was going to learn here, besides Herbology.

"You'll learn a whole host of things here at Hogwarts, and you'll learn best in Hufflepuff,"

The first inhabitants followed one another and now Athena's name was called. At first the girl was a little confused, but the next she went towards her destiny. Finally, finally I ... the girl radiated, radiated with joy and excitement, where in the middle also excited and maybe also fear, fear of the unknown, which only rarely turned out to be stronger, but not this time. Athena sat down and now was the turning point.

-Athena Turner. Did you know my sister Andrea and where she was?- She asked so many asking to the lovely hat. The real tower. Athena had no doubt that Sortingwould make the right choice and hoped that it would coincide with her dreams, which lay deep in her heart. Athena was happy to be here and now, and it could be seen in the girl's happy face, which was facing the Great Hall, where most people were looking at them. But the first winterer did not see it. Now it was just her and Sorting, and the thoughts that shot through her mind, the joy and excitement of being here

"I remember everyone I've ever sorted....but let's not worry about her right now, this is about you, and with all this ambition you'll do best in Slytherin,"

Ivy was practically shaking with excitement as she walked into the great hall with her future classmates. It was finally real, finally happening. She had been preparing to go to Hogwarts for so long, that it was almost hard to believe that it was really time now, that she was really here. Ivy had prepared for this, reading Hogwarts: a History her father had lent to her, but it hadn't prepared her for the true brilliance of Hogwarts castle, and Ivy's eyes were wide as she took in the great hall. She knew that each of the tables belonged to one of the houses, and that the ceiling was enchanted, but it was something else to see all the students staring at them, and seeing the stars twinkling above. Ivy lined up for the sorting, listening to the song with a smile on her face. She had known about all the attributes for each house too, and had no idea where she would go. She knew her father had been a Slytherin, and knew he would have liked her to be in the same house as him, even if he had never said so. But to Ivy, all the houses sounded good. Except maybe Hufflepuff, they didn't sound like the sort of people that made history books.

Ivy was lucky with her last name, and was one of the first to be called over. A brilliant smile spread over her face as she was told to step forward, and she made her way over to the stool with relative calm. She took her seat, closing her eyes tightly. This is the start of my adventure, she thought to herself. Then it was time for the hat to decide how that adventure would begin.

"Well this is difficult......You would do well in any of our houses, excel in most of them, but which is the right one....hmmm...difficult indeed but alas, Gryffindor,"

Hadley watched the sky moving above her in amazement. The floating candles, the way the paintings on the way here had waved at her. She'd been told all about everything of course, but that certainly didn't mean she was in any way prepared to actually see it in front of her. She had no idea what house she wanted to be in, though she knew her sister Rayleigh was in a yellow house, Hufflepuff and her eyes immediately drifted to her left to see her sister with her back turned to her. She wanted to get her attention, but she was too focused on looking at her shaking hands, tense with excitement. She couldn't believe she was finally here and she would get to actually learn magic. She'd never thought she would see the day.

"Orel, Hadley!"

Hadley almost fell over to hear the booming voice and she squeezed past a couple of other students, looking back at Peyton as she went. After all, she hoped they would be in the same house and maybe even in Rayleigh's house. The hat was placed on her head and even though she knew it would speak to her, she was not entirely prepared for it to do so and almost fell off of the stool. "Woah!"

"Are you seated properly now? I'll get started...hmmm...I can see a number of different traits that would suit you well in Slytherin...but really you'll excel best in Ravenclaw,"

Perseus heard his name. at least it seemed to him. was he not then Perseus Grace?
The guy slowly went to the elevation, feeling anxious. A picture of memories that had been forgotten appeared in front of his eyes. He and his uncle were sitting at the oak table in the kitchen of his uncle's house. The young man asked his uncle:
How does Hogwarts know which tower you belong to?
The man answered with a smile on his face.
It is determined by your qualities - Gryffindor takes into account courage and goodness, Ravenclaw- smartnes. Slytherin- purposefulness and alertness, Hufflepuff - justice and trust
.
Uncle, I don't want to be a bouncer. In the quiz area, the children say that Hufflepuff coat of arms has a badger and it indicates who you are. I want to be where my Anna will definitely be.
-Please; i want be with my friend Anna Easterling- He asked the hat.

"You don't need to worry about your friend, you will be just fine and just fine in Slytherin,"

Lucille stood in line wishing she could be with her collection rather than surrounded by other people. She was interested in seeing what creatures she could capture and dissect while she was at Hogwarts but also knew that others would likely try to prevent this. Lois would help out when she could of course but she couldn't expect that to be too often if they ended up in different houses. It didn't matter really as Lucille looked around the great hall quietly and took note of everything that she saw. She didn't even pay attention as her younger sister was called forward and tripped, though she did stare at Lois as she laughed out loud at Lenora's fall.

At Lois words Lucille simply replied
"Ok" and watched as her sister went forward and placed the hat on her forehead. "I wonder if @Seraphina My is here? Lucille said out loud. She had enjoyed talking to her though hadn't really paid attention as to what had happened to the other girl. "Redfront, Lucille" at last it was her turn to step up and find out which house she belonged in. She wasn't nervous, on the contrary she was interested in the hat. It was a curious object and she wondered if it would feel pain if it were to be cut apart. I heard you have brains in you, is that literal? I'd like to see them Lucille thought to herself as she wondered about how much trouble she would actually get in if she tried to dissect the sorting hat. 'It's okay, your not actually alive anyways just an object that's been bewitched, like my handbag, if you get bored singing the two of you can hang out though it doesn't talk or move like you do. It just has my collection' Lucille added completely unaware of how the Sorting hat might see such thoughts.

"Thanks for the offer, but I'm quite happy to keep singing to the end of time! You are certainly curious and curious for curiosity's sake...you'll make an excellent addition to...Ravenclaw,"

As she entered the great hall, Marlee ran over her body. It was time Marlee had been waiting since she was six - a sorting ceremony in Hogwarts. The girl had been wondering for a long time which tower she could get into. It was kind of a small test she had come up with to see how well she knew herself. And whether she resembles her parents.
Marlee noticed a chair. There was an old hat on it. Šķirmice. Marlee knew it was a hat that classified the first inhabitants in the towers. Although Marlee had heard a great deal about Hogwarts from her cousin and other relatives, she had not expected that. Then the first first settlers were called. Marlee seemed to call the first inhabitants by their names.
Marlee Haywood
The girl's heart sank when she heard her name

"Your desire to be in hufflepuff is certainly backed by your hard working nature but your desire for adventure puts you in Gryffindor,"

Abigail rushed as quick as her legs would take her through the halls of Hogwarts, finding herself as close to the front of the queue as the others would allow her. With a huge grin on her face she found herself eagerly anticipating the sorting to begin. She was taking in her surroundings as quickly as she possibly could, taking it all in and making note of all the old but cool features that surrounded her. "This place is amazing!" She said to nobody in particular. Her eyes fell on the front of the room as everyone started to be sorted and she couldn't help but stare, it was all so mystifying. She eagerly awaited her own sorting, clapping every time someone was sorted. When it was her turn she approached the hat, took a seat, and with a smile on her face she watched the hat come down on her head.

"Hmmm...you have a kind nature to you that would suit you well in Hufflepuff, yes, you certainly would do well there...but there's a lot of adventurous ambition here too...better be..Gryffindor,"

Giselle was so relieved that it was the day she could step on the train to Hogwarts. Also she would do it by herself. No Sofia who would tell her what to do and Gabriel had been graduated already so she only had some cousins around. But that was fine, most of them were fine. The blonde took her stuff and found a place in the train, claiming a spot for herself and she would see if there were people who would join. As long as they were not annoying or stupid, otherwise she would tell them. Giselle was direct and said what she thought, sometimes she said or do stuff before thinking it was just automatic stuff. The one person she did missed was Gabriel her brother. But he was away from Sweden as well he had a girlfriend and played Quidditch Professionaly. Giselle felt just free, she could finally do what she wanted and there were rules, she would make her own.

When they arrived at the castle the blonde walked into the Great Hall. It was big and floating candles in the air. Really magically. But a bit old and boring as well the design from inside. At their interiour shop in Sweden they had more nice stuff. But whatever it was a school and it was good to be here. She followed the rest of the students and hoped that she was quickly sorted. Both of her sister and brother were in Gryffindor. So Giselle kind of figured she would be too, but she didn't cared too much. As long as she wasn't in Hufflepuff which seemed a boring house so far from what she had heard. Giselle pushed someone a bit away who stood in her way and than waited for her name to be called. But than she saw an old hat was telling them where they were placed. Really? This was the magical hat? It dissapointed her a bit. People clapping for persons to be sorted and now it was her time. She walked to the old hat and went sitting. It felt strange to have that hat on your head. Feeling it moving and talking. Well there we go..

"Disappointed in me? Well don't worry I hope to not disappoint you further...Slytherin,"

Emori had been waiting for this moment for at least a year. Since the twins had gone to Hogwarts and she had been left alone at home. It hadn’t been nice, being without any of her sisters, but now that she was here, the girl could hardly wait to start her seven year journey. Her sisters, three of them, had told her stories about the school, and places to explore. On the train she had even brought a book to prepare in advance. But her attention span had been cut short by the view outside, and the chatter of students. Em smiled, she couldn’t wait to meet the whole lot, maybe cause some mischief, although no one actually knew her here which meant she got to start fresh. A fresh start was really all that she wanted. Nobody knew her, and Emori could simply get to know her fellow yearmates without worrying about them knowing stuff about her past. She was feeling restless as they were led inside the castle, she was too energetic for this, she needed to be sorted, needed to just explore the place. It was huge. Nothing could have prepared her for the massive hall that they were entering. She looked up, and saw the ceiling, enchanted to look like the sky itself, or maybe it was and it was a transparent ceiling. She shrugged, and did her best to pay attention to the woman at the front of the room who was speaking. Whoops. Should not have mentioned that the Forest was forbidden. This only intrigued the girl more, as she was sure others in her year were thinking the same thing she was. Some bounced on the heels of her feet back and forth, as each student went up and a hat was placed on their heads. Soon enough, it was her turn. Finally. Emori went up and sat down on the stool, the hat was placed on her head and her vision was covered. Any second now, she thought with anticipation.

"Definitely any second now............................................Slytherin"

Reid was tired. He'd stayed up most of last night making sure he'd packed everything he would need because it would be difficult to have his parents send him what he'd missed before he needed it. After all, they were quite busy too. Still, he was excited to finally be here and to start his journey with magic. After all, what better way to learn magic than to be at a magic school? He couldn't wait to tell everything to Eden, she was going to love this.

"Porter, Reid,"

Hearing his name only brought all of this home and Reid happily walked up to the stool to have the hat out on his head. He had no family here or anything, so he was completely alone. What a thrilling adventure this would be.

"What a thrilling adventure indeed...Hufflepuff."

It certainly was not every day that Ere was walking through large stone corridors and hearing her feet click along the floor. She was much more accustomed to warmth and fire, the kind of things she would get from her cedarwood home back in Andorra. She didn't really think there was much of an excuse for a castle to feel so cold and draughty, perhaps they could put in a couple of window panes to keep out the breeze as the tiny fire in the corner didn't seem to be doing much of anything to help anyone. She watched Nikola be sorted first, biting her lip as he was placed in his house. They'd planned everything, and now it was her turn. Nikola had suggested she was a natural Hufflepuff, but Ere didn't know enough about the houses to say so and so whilst he'd tried to get into the house, Ere was positive she wouldn't have to do much trying, though who could really be sure. She did seem to have a lot of the same values as the Hufflepuff founder and believed strongly in fairness and justice, well, she did when she was told she did. Mostly she wasn't very opinionated. Thankfully, Nikola seemed to hold most of the same opinions.

"Shannara, Eretria."

This was it. She was not good at English, and she knew she was going to have to get better at it, but this was why she hoped that Nikola and she would share a house, his English was much better than hers and she anted to know she would have someone who could help translate the world for her. She stepped gracefully up to the stool, pulling her hair back as she placed the hat on her head to hear her house placement.

"You'll pick English up soon enough, there's nothing better for learning languages than to be immersed in them, and you'll definitely find plenty of people to help you in......Hufflepuff,"

Ana Sofia had been more than relieved to find out she would actually be attending Hogwarts, especially after having heard her sister be so excited about it for years. She had been so late in showing signs of magic that her father had actually started worrying whether his daughter might be a squib. Not that he would have loved her anything less if she was, but he was still glad she turned out to have magic after all. Ana was completely overwhelmed when they reached the castle and didn't even know where to look, her eyes moving from one thing, to another and so on. She had also been curiously observing the other kids, wondering who she'd end up being friends with. Most of them seemed nice enough at first sight.

Without Ana even fully realizing it the group of first years had already made it to the hall, which meant things were about to get serious. The idea of getting sorted into a house had been intriguing the youngster for some time now and she was greatly looking forward to it. She had heard about the houses and was curious as to where the hat would put her. Since her last name started with a 'B' Ana was called up pretty quickly and happily made her way over towards the front. Ana tried her best not to chuckle when she sat down on the stool and felt it being placed on her head. She found it funny that a hat would deciding her destiny for the next seven years, but from the very first second she had seen the hat she already loved it, even more when it started singing. The hat definitely seemed nice and she fully trusted it to put her in the house that would be best for her.

"Thanks for putting your trust in me, I hope to not disappoint.....Hufflepuff,"

Anna was excited, she holded Elisa's and Zach hand and tried to concentrate to ceremony. She was too happy and wanted to look everywhere and wanted to find her friends. She all the time looked at Zach and Elisa, and Klaus to see how nervous they are.

"Easterling, Annabeth Rosemary."

She was first out of four and she was ready to know her tower. "Wish me luck!" Anna said to Klaus, Zach and Elisa and smiled. The she almost ran up to the stairs and sat on the chair. "Hi! I am Anna, what's your name? I am one out of four Easterlings that are starting school this year! I am so excited to know my tower so please, please, please make right decision and if it's possible then please let me be together with my family and if not then please just in Hufflepuff!" She closed her eyes tightly and thought, then she opened her eyes and looked at her family and smiled them.

"You'd make a fine hufflepuff that's for sure, but I think you'll make an even better....Gryffindor,"
