Dililah Salvatore watched the sky moving above her in amazement. The floating candles, the way the paintings on the way here had waved at her. She'd been told all about everything of course, but that certainly didn't mean she was in any way prepared to actually see it in front of her. She had no idea what house she wanted to be in. She waited very long, but when the sorting hat calt out her name she was blank, what if he maybe can't make a choice, maybe i am not even allowed in hogwarts with my parents not knowing i am a wicth or maybe not a witch.

"Salvatore, Dililah Salvatore"

I am walking nervously to the chair, finally getting to know in which house I belong in, what kind of person i maybe become in my house. Then the sorting hat is mumbeling and I am quiet……

"Oh, you belong all right. You're a witch, through and through, and you better head to... Slytherin!"

Fenton could feel the excitement boiling up inside him, almost as if he was electric to the touch right now. His feet shuffled as his eyes bolted around in every direction. There was so much to see and the young boy only had two eyes! It was frustrating that the crowd of first years would not slow down. But Fenton knew he would have time to explore everything, well in between classes of course. He just had to be patient, a skill this eleven year old boy did not have.

Entering the Great Hall, Fenton froze in his spot. “Wow” He said audibly as the student behind him in the crowded bumped into him. “Oh Sorry” Fenton said half heartedly as he began to follow the crowd once more to the front of the Great Hall. There was a hat sitting on a stool and a formal looking Professor. The young boy listened to her words and to the amazing Hat day its bit. Without much wait, thankfully, Fenton’s name was called.

“Fuller, Fenton” the name rang in the crowd.

Fenton walked up to the stool still taking in all the sights. He finally made his way to the stool and sat down. His eyes wandered to the four different tables. His brother had told him the Sorting Hat would decide his place at Hogwarts and not to be too worried, each house had their own good qualities. The Sorting Hat was placed on Fenton’s had. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

"I won't keep you long. I can tell you're about to sprint away, but you need to know where to sprint to, don't you? Better be...Gryffindor!"

Anj had been waiting all day for the sorting ceremony and was so eager to find out his fate. Earlier, as he walked down the Hogwarts walls with their high ceilings and castle like energy, it hit him the gloriousness of the history embedded in the great walls around him. Now he was standing waiting for his turn when the seconds began to feel like hours. He was so excited yet really nervous. The thought of it hadn’t left his mind. He stood alone and was sleepy from staying up all night. He couldn’t stop thinking about the house he dreamed of being sorted into. He stood waiting for his turn as the sorting hat showed its ominousness. It called “GRYFFINDOR!” to the girl 3 spots in front of him. He stood thinking wait since when did I become so close? as the sorting hat called out to the boy in front “Hmm... yes this is easy RAVENCLAW!” And just like nothing, Anj had made his way to the front of the queue. He closed his eyes putting his full faith into the hat. As it began to grumble, he knew with certainty that it would never betray him.

"You're an easy one to place too. Better be... Ravenclaw!"

Ann stood near the front of the group of students, a thing she had learned from her mother from a very young age. Her mother had always said "Ann, there is only one person in the world who is accountable for your success, and that person is you. So let yourself be seen and heard, and never let anyone tell you otherwise." Well, if you are told that just enough, you will start to act based on that.

She carefully looked around her, taking in all the faces, some of which she had seen on the train on her way here. This will be an interesting first year, she thought to herself, while listening to the words of the headmistress. Yes, yes. Of course the forest is forbidden. Why have it when we can't go there. What a load of .. Her thoughts were interrupted when the first name was called. There we go.

After the first few names were called, the headmistress reached hers.

Sure to straighten her back, lifting her chin up, Ann took the few steps forward heading for the stool positioned at the front of Great Hall. Smiling proudly and confident at all the students looking at her, she sat herself down at the stool. Time to shine, she thought to herself a split second before the hat was positioned on her head.

"You're looking to shine, are you? Some might say that every student is a diamond in the rough, and it's up to you to make yourself shine. And shine you will in... Ravenclaw!"

Now was the time. From here Abbey's life will be different. She realized that. She puts her glasses straight on her nose and walked confidently into the Great Hall. She was impressed by the huge number of students standing already in the Great Hall. She nodded friendly to a couple of new students. ''Here we go, are you guys nervous?''. She asks.

A while later, a speech was given by the headmistress. She forgot the name already. Abbey was busy thinking of a life as a student on Hogwarts. She is at the beginning of this new adventure now. After the speech, the headmistess started the ceremony. A few names later, Abbey was asked to come forward. From this moment on she did get nervous. But her appearance looked very calm. Once Abbey was sitting on the chair she felt a much bigger hat on her head...

"Looks like another...Ravenclaw!"

Seraphina was tired of waiting for her turn during the Sorting Ceremony. She was starving, and since her mother hadn't been the one dropping her off at the train, she had had no money to buy snacks or lunch. She felt her stomach growl and put her hand over it, hoping other students nearby didn't hear. She heard someone announce her name and looked up at the stool. She didn't want to go up there. She was over this. Why did no one tell her that you had to go through a dumb ceremony just to find out where your bed was? Seraphina walked up to the stool and took a seat as the smelly hat was placed on her head.

"Don't worry, I want to be on your head just as little as you want me on your head. But alas, here we are anyway. You're an interesting one, could do well in Slytherin or Gryffindor. Slytherin or Gryffindor. Alright, it better be...Gryffindor!"

Donna Ramsey, first of her name, was ready to get sorted yesterday. The New Zealand native had never been inside a castle before, and whilst she was already feeling homesick because she had to leave her parents at Brightstone Station, she knew that things were going to be amazing here. She didn't need a seer to let her know that schools going to be awesome, because her parents always said that you made your own happiness, and Donna couldn't agree more. She had a new wand, an awesome pet, her hair was actually behaving itself, and her colourless uniform was about to have a makeover! Who wouldn't be happy about that?

Her spirits weren't dampened by the negative nellies in the crowd, some of which who looked like they were lining up at Gringotts Bank. Nosir, Donna's grin was indomitable and her aspirations high. Whatever house she was in, it was immediately going to be The Best, and whilst she'd have liked to be in with some cousins, she was happy to go it alone if she had to. Although, snakes and eagles were a bit gross, and who didn't love a lion? She wasn't going to play favourites, though. Whatever the hat decided, Donna was going to be excited.

She jumped with her hand up when her name was called, just in case anyone else mistook themselves as her, and ran up the steps, plopping herself on the stool. Her hands were balled into fists in her lap, waiting with limited patience to learn where she would sit.

"Your good nature shines through. You're a true...Hufflepuff!"

Well, dreams were all kinds and there really were a lot of them. In addition, for each person at least a thousand. Another wanted a fast car, another a beautiful, talking doll, another just a happy ending. Children had the most dreams. And yet Eustace himself, now moving forward, only wanted to feel this moment among his remaining unassigned peers. And it was his dream - to live in the moment - that came true right now and here.

-Eustace Ross- He didn't know how things were going here, but seeing everything with his own eyes gave the feeling that Allan had already experienced it. Maybe in a previous life? But where in this previous life had Sorting sorted him out? Where .. All that remains is to mention and hope that even where he has been before. Since hat sorting as many people as possible from a previous life will not remember the little soul of Eustace, but it's nothing. The boy will forgive her and will be proud of her tower, no matter which of the four great ones.Where he will be, he will be. AND nowhere else.

"You'll find your home in...Slytherin!"

How on Earth had he ended up in a place like this?

Since the day he'd received his letter, Arriman had felt like he was in some bizarre dream. Both his parents had stared at him in alarm, the morning a live owl had barrelled through the kitchen window, and landed on the breakfast table with a letter in its beak. Arriman, believing he was dreaming, reached out and gently took the letter. As he opened it, his dad had leapt forward, snatching it from his grasp, staring at it in terror. He'd been worried that this was some sort of weird threat. What mischief had Arriman got himself into this time? But, after some hours of whispered discussion, all three siblings awkwardly hanging around in the living room with no real idea as to why their parents were so stressed, Arriman was summoned back into the kitchen. Alone.
That was when his parents told him about the letter, allowed him to read it and, reluctantly, asked if he wanted to attend. Of course, Arriman had said yes, but his dazed state didn't allow the reality to dawn on him until the day he had arrived at Hogwarts.

Now he was staring up at the floating ceiling candles. He was mentally miles away when he realised his name was being called.
"Canker, Arriman."
Another student, realising he'd responded to the name, pressed their hand against his back, and eased him forwards. Within moments, Arriman was in front of the whole school, being asked to sit on a stool, having some old hat placed on his head. The hat sunk over his eyebrows, so his vision of the amazing ceiling was now obscured.
And then there was a voice. Was it in his head? Had he finally cracked? Was this all a dream brought on by that fever he'd had some months ago?
The voice seemed to be inside the hat with him. Was it a spider? Could spiders talk in this world? Was he about to find some terrifying red spider sitting on his head, trying to discuss his future with him beneath the hat?
Due to standing at the back of the hall during most of sorting, Arriman had not witnessed the other students getting their places, and how this all worked.

He sat still as he could, trying to ignore the chill running up his spine.

"You're not crazy, I really am talking. I'm a magical hat, you see, and it's my job to help you find your new home for the next seven years...and beyond even. Once you're in a house, you're always a part of that. Now let's see where you need to go. You're curious but not afraid, fun seeking but not without some thought put to it. Hmm...better be...Gryffindor!"

Pavlina Zhefarovich, Lina to her friends, could not believe she was finally at Hogwarts. Honestly for the longest time she'd been convinced that she was never going to get here. Honestly. Almost all of her family had graduated from here and now she would be graduating too! Well, in seven years. It didn't seem like that long, really... probably. She had already decided she was going to make a lot of friends and then she was absolutely going to pop in and see her dear big brother too. Of course he would obviously be just so happy to see her too, because of course he would. She was lovely and sweet and adorable, anyone would be happy to see her sweet self.

She was excited by all the pretty lights in the sky above her and of course she knew it was an illusion, because she had the illusion of the night sky above her bed at home so it wasn't entirely new, but she liked having something different. She hoped there would be illusions in her dorm. She wasn't sure because she'd conveniently forgotten to ask anyone before she'd hoped on the train that morning and so now she was going to have to wait and see, though she desperately wanted to know now. It was such a shame really since she had so many ideas that would be easier to implement if she knew what she was working with. She was going to have to ask her big brother definitely.

Lina heard her name called and immediately headed up the stairs, dancing her way there and perching eagerly on the stool. She could not wait to be sorted since she'd been thinking about where she would end up the entire train ride. She didn't know what house she was going to be in but boy was she excited to find out!

"You're made to be a...Slytherin!"

Naiden knew all along that he would be entering a magical school. Imagine, a Zhefarovich, without magic? No. That would just be too shameful. Naiden listened for his name. It took the longest time though. He watched his niece Inanna as she was sorted. Now, it was his turn. He walked up to the stool and sat down. He awaited his fate.

"Better be...Ravenclaw!"

Lillith looked around the hall, sighing at all of the things that she considered beautiful. Though there may have been too many people for Lillith to breath, she was too busy people-watching as they walked towards the front of the hall.

Names were being called, but she wasn’t really listening. Lillith was talking to another girl about how she was excited to bake in the kitchens of hogwarts that she had heard all about from her parents. Both of her parents went to hogwarts in New Zealand and because they wanted her to experience it too, they decided to stay in New Zealand instead of going back to England.

“Montgomery, Lillith”

She was so invested while talking to the girl that she didn’t notice her name being called.

“Montgomery, Lillith!”

This time she had heard, and so she said goodbye to the girl and went up the stairs and sat on the chair.

“Hi, Mr. Hat. Nice to meet you! My name is Lillith!”

"Hi there! Aren't you a friendly one? Let's get you off to your new home. It's going to be... Hufflepuff!"

Tilly bounced back and forth on the balls of her feet, waiting her turn to be sorted. The moment the Headmistress had mentioned the words "Forbidden Forest," Tilly's head was spinning with anticipation. She couldn't wait to get out and explore the grounds. In all honesty, Tilly didn't care which House she was placed in; she had family members sorted into all four houses, and they turned out all right. She knew the Sorting Hat would make the right choice. As the hat was plopped onto her head, she thought, "Hello there. Thanks in advance! Just so you know, I'm not picky. But I am hungry."

"I'll be quick then! Hufflepuff!"
