Welcome to this semester's event! Heta Omega members are free to partake in any of the activities described below. I'll list the helpers below in case you need to tag any of them. If any student wants to venture off from the event, please PM me first, as it requires checking with admin. Additionally, feel free to tell your spooky stories around the campfire (just credit them if it's not an original). Thanks, and have fun!

Adults: @Maris Wormwood and @Josephine Arora
Arts and Crafts: @Margo Fox
S'mores and Stories: @Renata Stepanova
Cornhole: @Elara Chatelain

Elara had been working hard with Renata and Margo to make sure everything was coming together for their first official Heta event for the year. It was happening later in the semester, but she figured that gave time for everyone to attend other clubs and get their studies underway before asking them to camp outside over night! She knew some of the girls might not be into the idea, but it was really was supposed to be fun, and she hoped everyone would buy in.

Laying out the final table cloth for the snacks table, she used her wand to levitate all the bowls and baskets onto the three tables. Nearby, there was an arts and crafts area so girls could decorate rocks and place them outside around the castle, just as a happy reminder of the event and their club. Renata was keeping track of the fire area, leading those sitting around toasting their marshmallows in some scary stories. Elara herself was manning the corn hole area, as he was sure many students might not know how to play the game. But she thought it would be a great way for bigs and littles to get to know each other as teams. Lastly, there were tents set up, bigger on the inside than they appeared, filled with sleeping bags and pillows so the girls could stay the night and look up at the stars. She was particularly proud of the planning and hoped no shenangians made their way past the Hogwarts staff helping.

Once everyone seemed to arrive, she cleared her throat and found a chair to stand on, seeing as she was not the tallest seventh year. "Hello, hello, everyone! I'm so excited to have our first event for the year. For those that don't know me, I'm Elara Chatelain, and I'm the President of Heta Omega this year. We also have Renata Stepanova as our new Social Chair and Margo Fox as our new secretary. They've been doing wonderful, and everyone should give them a big congratulations sometime today. As you know, we're having a camping 'trip' tonight for our event. The tents are over there for everyone to stay in tonight, and they're first come, first serve. There's also a ton of food, stuff to make s'mores, arts and crafts, and corn hole! I'll be helping those who don't know how to play that game, and Renata will be leading folks in telling scary stories around the fire. Also, we have Ms. Wormwood and Ms. Arora helping out today. Please try to not cause trouble, which I know, for most of you, is easy," she said, trying not to eye any first years. They tended to be the most rambuctious; although, there were a few older students she was concerned about.

"Lastly, as always, we have bigs and littles! The list is up here by the snack table. Make sure to check it out and introduce yourself. This is just a great way for younger students to have someone to go to, and for older students, it gives you an opportunity to mentor and give back. I think that's it for now so go have fun - woo!" she cheered, giving a little laugh before heading over to the the corn hole area of the lawn after she grabbed a beverage quickly.

Ivelisse was curious to see what Heta Omega would be like under new leadership now that her sister had graduated. She knew Ana likely had picked her successor herself because she had told her about it so at least that wouldn't be surprising. The idea of a camping trip, however, was and even if Ive wasn't too keen on spending the night outside she had showed up anyways. Who knew? It could be fun. She listened as the new president introduced her little leadership circle and explained what tonight's activity was all about. Once Elara was done speaking Ivelisse made her way over to the campfire. If this was how she was spending the night she might as well have a little fun. Grab a snack. She didn't bother looking at the big and little sisters list, figuring it was easier to just let whoever she was paired with come and find her.

When Celia had heard that Heta Omega would be having a camping trip for the first meeting, she'd nearly quit on the spot. There was nothing appealing about eating overly processed foods and sleeping in the dirt, completely exposed to bugs and the cold. In the end, she'd forced herself to go so that she could remain in good standing with the club. She just needed to remain a member long enough to survive first head girl selection and then college application season.

Besides, she could always just go back to the castle if things were really bad. And the more Celia saw, the more she was inclined to think that things really were that bad. Cornhole? Rock decorating? What were they, six? She gave Elara a look of disbelief as the girl explained what activities were available to them. The Heta Omega president made Jenna look like an absolute genius by comparison, and Celia almost felt bad for ever thinking that Jenna's makeup lesson for the Elite Sisterhood was a dumb meeting idea.

Celia decided to check the big and little sisters list first. Somjai Wu. The name meant absolutely nothing to her. She had no desire to seek the girl out, so she instead headed for one of the tents and peeked inside. The interior was much bigger than she'd expected, which meant she would have to share the tent with far too many other people if she decided to stay. As if that weren't bad enough, the sleeping bags and pillows were strewn directly on the floor. Celia sighed heavily and tilted her head back, looking directly at the sky. "Why."

Renata was really impressed by Elara's organizational skills, and she hoped that she could be at least somewhat helpful. She was a little bit out of her depth being given this much responsibility, but she was excited to take on the challenge. It was a little strange to be in the spotlight at all, though she supposed now she could truly stand on her own without the lingering issue of her father's family causing trouble it was something she could begin to get used to. She waved her hand when Elara motioned to her, though it would be easy to spot her if she was going to be sitting at the campfire. She'd made a note of who her little sister was and would save a spot for Evianna to sit next to her if she wanted to, but wasn't going to force her to join in if scary stories weren't her thing. She had marshmallows to pass around - something she'd sort of got the hang of doing at the Hufflepuff meeting - and her wand in her hand, having cast lumos and having it facing up to make her face look a bit more scary. It probably looked more silly than scary, but that wasn't going to bother Renata too much.

"...and so, when the man got too curious and cut the black ribbon off his new wife's neck, he was horrified to see that her head rolled straight off! And the last thing he heard was her screaming that she told him he'd be sorry." Renata wasn't exactly the best at telling scary stories, but she didn't mind hearing them at all, surprisingly. Plus, she figured if she started it, the other girls might feel relaxed and not feel any real pressure with their stories. "So, does anyone have any scary stories they'd like to tell?" she asked, looking around the campfire as girls were starting to get situated with a smile, which turned a little self-effacing. "No judgement here, obviously!"

Darlessa had been looking forward to this camping trip. She was brand new to the Heta Omega Club and this was her first event. There was little time, a lot of homework and the impressions about the school were growing more and more. This might have been the most impressive of all school events. She went to the Great Lawn, where the club function was being held, with a couple of other hufflepuffs.

Dressed in comfortable clothes, a pink plush hooded jacket and Nike runners, she listened to president Elara's speech and read the list of bigs and littles. As it turns out, she was paired with yet another hufflepuff from year four. Darlessa had often seen Margo in the common room. Another chance to make friends with an older dorm mate! The girl went in the direction of arts and crafts and addressed the secretary, "Hello, Margo! I'm your little sister.” Hoping that Margo wouldn't mind her company, the girl continued talking, poking her nose into the arts and crafts area. "Do you need help? What are we going to create?”

There were already ghost stories being told around the campfire nearby, but Darlessa decided to give it a try after she got to know her big Heto Omega sister. @Margo Fox

@Savannah Walters

Maisie was beyond excited for her meeting. She hurried down to the meeting, giggling and struggling to keep herself still as the leader spoke. Once they were released, she flitted through each of the activities, looking around excitedly. However, before she did anything or started anything, she wanted to find her new little sister. "Savannah!" She called, looking around to see if any girls answered to the summons.

June was not really too excited about the Heta Omega. But she joined since a lot of people did and she just wanted to be part of the club which seemed popular. But she wondered if it was really fun. Jenna had asked her to be part of the elite sisterhood, and now she could compare it if this was really so stupid as they said. But as she heard what the first meeting was she regret the decision already. Camping? That was like the biggest nightmare. All those insects around you, and what if it rained? Even the dungeons seemed better than. June also didn't want to get dirty, but figured she could not, not show up. Perhaps she could sneak out and go to her own bed. There was no way she was gonna sleep in an tent. June noticed some familliar faces, old and young. And tried to not be judgemental in her face. And put on her nice face. All the activities seemed so stupid. She watched the adults for an moment with an smile.

As the president finished her speech she walked over to see who her big sister would be. She hoped it was someone fun and not Hufflepuff. And thankfully she was not from Hufflepuff. June had no intention to yell for the person but heard Celia who stood next to her she didn't seemed happy too. June than looked at her. '' Are you really gonna sleep in this tent?'' June asked her and sighed as she watched the sleeping places. Speaking not too loud. Wondering if the girl thought the same. Celia was someone next to Jenna she admired so far. And they were both in the elite sisterhood. But June was still convinced she was even better than both girls. But it was good to be surrounded with older people, since June was way less childish than the rest of her class.

Savannah had remained a part of the heta omega club, even though she hadn't been very sure about it. She arrived at the camping trip, with this being the first time she had ever gone to a camping trip. She listened as the new leader went over what the new team around her and what they would be doing. and what this event was. But they weren't exactly going to be doing anything unlike the last. They still got sisters and Savannah lingered back, just watching things until her 'big sister' called her name. she thought about not answering but did then raise her hand. "I'm Savannah, you'll be my new big sister," her tone wasn't very eager for it.
@Maisie Morvay

Maris spent the first several minutes of the camp out lurking near the edge of the fire light, eyes sharp as the various club members gathered and dispersed about the different activities. It was good she was here to keep an eye on things, able to prevent a potential disaster before it became a problem she had to clean up around the castle, but she had to admit it was also nice to be thought of full stop. Maris wasn't any student's favourite by a long shot, but she stilled been quietly touched that Elara had thought of her to help chaperone. Add to that the fact that Josephine was also here to help keep an eye on the girls and Maris could almost envision herself having fun.

"Have any of you ever heard of Flavius Belby?" She asked as one of the girls finished a story at the fireside, stepping slightly more into the light. "He's supposedly the only known survivor of a lethifold attack. Laying awake, late at night, he heard at first, just a whisper, a shadow sliding under the gap in his door as he tried to sleep. Maybe he'd imagined it? But then, he saw with rising horror that the shadow had moved, was slithering with an undulating movement across the floor and slowly, slowly, up onto his bed and he felt its slight weight upon him. Terrified, Belby could only watch in horror as the lethifold slowly crept across his body, it's chill touch like silk over his face as it intended to smother him. Scrambling for his wand, he managed to repel the creature with a patronus charm, fresh air rushing back into his lungs as the lethifold fled, but could you ever truly sleep knowing at any moment a shadow or a blanket could really be a lethifold ready to devour you?" Maris finished, raising an eyebrow as the fire crackled and cast long shadows around them.

Celia wasn't really expecting an answer from God, though it would have been nice to hear from him. She thought he owed her an explanation as to why he was trying to make her life as miserable as possible. Hadn't she suffered enough? Was trying to force her to sleep on the floor of a tent with a dozen other girls really necessary? But he remained silent, and it was June Davenport who answered her instead. Celia glanced down at the first year, snorting slightly at her tone. "Oh, absolutely not." She had never liked the Slytherin dorms, but at least she had a four poster bed with privacy curtains and an actual mattress there. Plus, if Ivelisse and Atlas stayed here, then there would be even fewer people than usual in the dorms. Celia didn't care what she had to do, she fully intended to be back in the castle by the end of the night. She gave June an appraising look, raising an eyebrow. "Are you going to spend the night here?" She hadn't exactly been thrilled to hear that Jenna had recruited a first year into the Elite Sisterhood, but June's question made Celia wonder if the first year wasn't quite as terrible as her peers.

@June Davenport

Valeria loved being a part of the heta omega, she loved using the space as a place to get ready for parties, she loved getting a little sister every year, though she wished that sometimes she could keep hers and just get to know them better. She loved the idea of camping, especially given that the weather was getting a bit nicer and she didn't have to worry nearly as much about getting soaked if she went outside. She arrived at the camp and listened to the leader, cheering loudly for the girls who were running it. She had somewhat hoped she might be able to help out but she didn't mind either. She went to the list of sisters and saw her name next to someone called Senna. "Senna?" she called out, hoping to find her and then decide with her what they could do.
@Senna Overby

Aurora was dragging Rosie out to the camp site for the heta omega event. She was very excited for it, as she tended to be about these school events. She arrived at it and grabbed some marshmallows for her and for Rosie as the leader of the club got started. Aurora ate hers, having toasted it as the girl was speaking and then dragged Rosie to the list. "I'm paired with an Eloise Aster and you with Georgia Astor. Maybe they thought those girls were related," Aurora said. "Eloise?" she called out, trying to find her little sister in the crowd of other girls.
@Eloise Aster

Rosie let Aurora drag her to the heta omega club event. she wasn't even really dragging her heels in about it, since she did want to attend. But she always let this happen, let Aurora have the control and lead her to the events. She glanced about at the different girls, smiling and waving at Margo. She glanced towards the leader and then went to the list when they were allowed to. "So I've got Georgia Astor?" she said smiling before glancing, looking for younger girls. "Georgia?"
@Georgia Astor

As June put her arms over eachother she tried to let her face be neutral, since Celia wasn't the only one around them. But as Celia answered back June figured she was right in reading Celia's face about what she thought about this. June was only eleven the other girl was older than she was, a lot of age difference so she figured if you were even older this was more childish. Not that June saw herself as an eleven year old, she knew she was more grown up. Her education from her parents was different than others, better in her eyes. June nodded in agreement to the girl. As the girl returned the question she shook her head. '' Definitely not.'' The blonde replied back and looked around. But everyone else seemed busy with themselves or seeking their big or little sister. She than looked back at Celia. '' I guess the Elite Sisterhood would never come up with such an silly idea.'' June asked Celia. And gave an small grin. She actually wondered why Celia was an member here as well. But June would not ask directly away she figured, and play things smart if she wanted Celia to like her.

@Celia Vuong

Senna was stoked for the first Heta meeting of the year, even more so when she found out that it would be a camping trip. She had done plenty of camping with her parents of the years, sometimes they even camped in the backyard during pleasant nights. It was fun and she loved it. She had excitedly made her way over to the lawn, shifting from one foot to the other when the president was talking in an attempt to stay patient and wait for the girl to finish before heading off. Senna was about to head over to the sisters list when she already heard someone call out her name, standing on her tiptoes and glancing around to notice an older girl nearby. "Me, that's me!" She waved as she walked over to the girl, pretty sure she had been on the Ravenclaw quidditch team at some point. "Hi, I'm Senna." @Valeria Iglesias

Eloise was interested to see what being part of Heta Omega would be like. She was certain it would be a good way to expand her social circle, make new connections. Especially with older girls who she might not have talked to as easily otherwise. She just needed to pay attention to names and faces so she could ask her parents about their family names when she was home during the break. She listened calmly as the girl who had been at the sign up stand introduced herself and the other two who helped her lead the club before giving them a short introduction to tonight's activities. Eloise was mostly keen to get a glance at the list and see if she recognized any names. She was about to head over when most girls had already taken a look but was distracted when she heard someone call out her name. It took her a couple of seconds to locate where the voice had come from but eventually she was sure she was walking up to the girl that had called for her. "Hi, did you call for Eloise?" She asked, smiling politely. @Aurora Archer

Veronique had been surprised that the first Heta Omega event was outside, as it didn't seem on par with what she had heard about the club. But, as she arrived, she was thoroughly surprised by the setup Elara had come up with, even if there were some adults here to ruin any potential fun. She had hoped that it would be just girls with no teachers, but hopefully they wouldn't be too dull. After her cousin finished the speech, Veronique went up to her. "Nice job," she said with a big smile before asking her which girl had been assigned her big, and Elara had quickly pointed towards the campfire area before trotting away as Veronique tried to say thank you. Sighing, Veronique walked over to the fire and tapped a girl on the shoulder. "Hi, are you Ivelisse? I think you've been assigned as my Big, whatever that actually means," she added as though this was all kind of silly, as she wanted the older girl to see her as chill. @Ivelisse Burleigh

Tempest had been hoping joining Heta Omega would give her the opportunity to meet a lot of popular older students, but so far, she had been thoroughly unimpressed. They were camping, and Tempest was not an outdoor girlie. She much preferred her bed, pillows, and aroma therapy for optimal sleeping conditions. Plus, sleeping with a few girls was enough, let alone 10-15 in a tent. Reluctantly, she found herself on the Great Lawn, listening to the president go on as she rolled her eyes, looking towards the fire and marshmallows nearby. Once they were released, she glanced at the sister list, not really knowing who Aine was and found herself near the fire listening to the staff member tell a story that truly wasn't all that scary, and Tempest could care less. Thinking she had seen June go in a tent, she made her way over after stuffing a marshmallow in her mouth inside a tent where she saw June and one of the older girls, hearing the tale end of her roommate's comment. "Are you talking about how all of this is a silly idea?" she laughed, sitting down beside the girls. "What's even the point of this?" @June Davenport @Celia Vuong

Before leaving this place Crystal was an member of the club her cousin once had runned. And Crystal wanted to continue that, even Athena and Christina had been an member and so would she be again. And perhaps never stopped being. So it was not hard to get on board again and Crystal was excited for the first meeting again. As she heard about the camping idea it seemed like something fun and where she and girls would be together and do girly stuff. Crystal hoped to meet more people as well, making friends and be cool and known. She failed at following Evelyn's footsteps or even Athena who was an important figure in her time as well. But Crystal had never thought she would lead something like this, so it was all an dream. As she joined the girls she listened to the president who seemed very nice. She noticed the girl was the seeker from Gryffindor, who they lost against.

As the girl finished and Crystal figured to take an peak to see who her little sister was. Crystal now was the big sister but she wondered if the little one would even think of her as cool. She didn't knew the girl, but that was not strange. And figured to just let the girl find her, that was cooler also. Crystal noticed Ive and Celia walking around. Her roommate Valeria was here as well and Crystal kind of thought she was cool and good to be around. But she seemed to be talking to an younger student. Ive seemed to be waiting as well so Crystal decided to walk to the campfire where she was sitting. The blonde hoped the girl wouldn't think she was stalking her or anything. But was just glad to see her. '' Hey. How's it going?'' Crystal asked her friend as she went sitting close. Crystal knew Slytherin had lost as well against Hufflepuff. So they would be playing to eachother really soon.

@Ivelisse Burleigh

Georgia wasn't exactly looking the most forward to Heta Omega as she didn't know what to expect but she still was genuinely into idea of getting more connections and meeting more people. And camping, well, she didn't know whether she wanted to do that as she preferred staying inside but she decided to try that out. How would she know if she likes that if she didn't try? So there she was, she brought some cookies to eat while everything went on, so she listened to the president of Heta as she talked. After that, everyone seemed to be searching for their little or big sisters and she heard her name before she looked at the list. And she recognized the girl, she was one of the leaders of Wild Patch. Rosie. "I am Georgia. Hey," she softly said as she approached the older girl. "You're Rosie, right? I'm glad we're set up together," Gigi smiled at her and then offered her cookies. @Rosie Archer

Ivelisse wasn't too interested in the things that were going on around her, nor was she in listening to whatever story was being told nearby. Instead, she just held a marshmallow above the fire, watching as it slowly turned darker and darker. Maybe in the end it would just go up in flames. She looked up when someone sat down close to her, not too surprised to see Crystal. "Hi. I'm fine, I guess?" Ive replied with a shrug. It wasn't as if she hadn't seen Crystal in class that afternoon so her asking how she was seemed a little odd. She was sure the girl meant well though. Ive turned her head when someone tapped her on the shoulder, about to roll her eyes untill the girl mentioned something about being assigned as her big. "Yeah, that's me." She replied with a small smile, nodding towards the spot next to her. "You want to sit? What's your name?"

@Crystal Holmgaard @Veronique Chatelain

Aine felt like she was in a whole other world. She always felt a bit like that in Heta Omega meetings. Sororities had always seemed like such a strange concept, something she had only seen in American movies. And movies from well before she was born, too. The type of old school stuff Siobhan liked. It was funny, really, that she had two sisters but never really understood the whole sisterhood deal. After all, Ailish had moved overseas and Siobhan was like sixteen years older than her. Until recently, it had always just been a thing of keeping to herself. Maybe Siobhan and Conor felt guilty about leaving her out, or maybe it was just that she was now a teenager and closer to being an actual human being instead of just a child. But the long story short of it was that Aine didn't really know the first thing about being a sister. And now she was a fourth year, she had to be a big sister of sorts. She supposed. Whatever that meant. She didn't know who Tempest was, but she saw a few younger Slytherin girls going towards where Celia was and Aine wasn't stupid enough to attempt to follow. Instead, she sat down at the fire with the scary stories, as art wasn't her thing at all, nor did she even know what corn hole was only that it sounded kinda suss. She wasn't huge on horror, either, but didn't want to just go curl up in a tent right away. One of the staff members told a story that caused her to look down at her weighted blanket with a vague sense of unease. She tapped it a couple of times, just to make sure it wasn't actually about to try and smother her, though she also hoped nobody saw her do that. She cleared her throat after a moment, clutching at the edge of her blanket as she scuffed her feet against the ground.

"Near where I live, back home, there's an old abandoned jail and asylum," she explained. Aine didn't really know how to structure a horror story, but sharing a bit of home might at least go down well. "Back in the 1800s, everyone came to Victoria on the hunt for gold. But not everyone found it, and the people who didn't drove themselves mad, so they built this place to house them. For over a hundred years, people were forced into this so-called hospital. The walls were built with deep trenches so nobody could leave, and the scariest criminals were put in the jail, and they were executed and buried on the grounds. And with so many years of history and criminal and staff deaths, the ghosts of the jail still haunt the muggles who visit to this day. The last governor died while showing people around - you can still hear his boots stomping through the halls, but there's nobody there. When you go through the shock therapy ward, the ghost of the nurse lingers, and you can feel shocks through the side of your head, as the nurse desperately tries to help you. And one of the most dangerous criminals, who cut off parts of his body because he didn't want to be freed, can still be heard yelling at you to get out when you go past his cell. Heaven help you should a poltergeist lock the cell door behind you...I still have the scar." she trailed off, vaguely holding up her hand before looking back down. It wasn't exactly a thriller, but she stopped short of offering people tours as why would anyone want to visit that part of Australia. The last bit was also totally made up, but she figured most of these were.

((place is Aradale Mental Hospital & J Ward in Ararat, Australia, if you're curious!))

Maisie lit up when the girl spoke, skipping over. "Hiii!" She greeted the little girl, smiling brightly. "My name is Maisie," She introduced herself. "What do you want to do? We can go to all of them, where should we start?" She chattered happily, rocking on her heels. "Maybe we should get some snacks first?" @Savannah Walters

Celia smirked a little at June's response. She was glad she wasn't the only one who had issues with the meeting idea. It astounded her how low some of her classmates' standards were. "Of course not. Most of Heta's events are pretty bad, but this is a new low even for them," she said, as if she weren't a part of the club herself. "It's the whole reason we started the Sisterhood in the first place." Another first year joined them, and Celia frowned slightly. One first year she could tolerate, especially if that first year was also a member of the Sisterhood. But two first years? That was entirely too many. Was there something about her that screamed "come talk to me" to the younger students? "Excellent question. Why don't you ask our dear leader?" she said sarcastically. Celia still wasn't sure what made Elara (or Renata or Margo) qualified to run a sorority. "I would have thought Elara was trying to appeal to first years with this event, but clearly it's not working," she said, glancing between June and the other first year.

@June Davenport @Tempest Vero

Aurora smiled at the girl who approached her. ”Hi, I did,” the gryffindor replied warmly. ”I'm Aurora, I'm your big sister,” she told the girl, eager to get to know her. ”Shall we get some s'mores and get to know each other?” Aurora wasn't sure, this was a little different from other Heta Omega events. She wanted Eloise to have a good time, ”Unless there's something else you'd like to do?” To Aurora the s'mores just made the most sense.
