Pride was always Jenna's downfall, and it was nearly the thing that robbed her of a family member. Though she couldn't bring herself to come to Blake's wedding, she couldn't bring herself to throw the invitation out either, often dwelling on it late at night when she couldn't sleep. Over time life made it impossible for Jenna to ignore how cruel and hateful her family's homophobic views were, and bit by bit she found herself unravelling the values her upbringing had instilled in her. It all exploded at once in a particularly contentious dinner with her parents, when she mentioned one of Blake's recent Quidditch victories and was met with a barrage of slurs and hatred from her parents. Unable to stand it any longer, Jenna tore down their rhetoric and ripped the last shreds of bigotry from her own core, storming out of the dinner and apparating to her brother's house before she really knew what she was doing. She had never once let herself come to pieces before, no matter what life threw at her, but when she explained to Blake what had happened, she was barely able to choke out her apology through the tears. It took a lot of long conversations, but over time she was able to mend her relationship with her brother, though rejecting her family left her unemployed and struggling to find a new path, eventually she was able to find a new way in life, one she could feel truly proud of.
