Good day and welcome to another BWU, the last one for February! We have a few things to cover so let's just jump right into it.
End of Semester
As you may have noticed the first semester of this IC year has come to an end. Classes have been wrapped up, and we're heading towards the next semester. It's been a busy but exceedingly enjoyable semester with so many good events that have happened keeping all of ours students exceedingly busy. Be on the look out for more exciting things that will happen in the next semester.
Thanks to Professors
As always, with the end of the semester, we'd like to extend our thanks to all the professors for doing their grading, their classes and everything else that they do so that the semester runs smoothly. We know that being a professor can be hard and at times time consuming but we appreciate all the work that professors do in. So a huge thanks to everyone involved.
Professor and Head of House Applications
On the above note, we have a few positions that have become available in Hogwarts. We have two teaching positions, Divination Y5-7 and Astronomy Y5-7. If you want to find out more you can head over to the respective posts about them here and here. Professor positions can be quite challenging, but at the very least for upper years there are fewer classes and so it can be an opportunity for someone who has less time, or would like to see what it's like to give it a go. Additionally we also have an opening for the Ravenclaw head of house. This sort of position demands more from people, we'd encourage all professors to apply as long as they believe they can put the work into it. You can find that application here. If you have any questions about either application feel free to contact the staff with them. These applications will be closing on Thursday/early Friday of this week so be sure to get those applications in promptly.
School Supplies
At the beginning of the IC year we introduced the new shopping system. This new shopping system is now in full effect and people with students are encouraged to get their supplies for the classes they will be taking before it is too late. The topics themselves can be short as many of them are and do not require that much time.
Looking for Assistants
On this note of shops, should your students be looking for jobs, or any character looking for a job, there are still assistants being sought in shops, so be on the look-out for those. If you were looking to be a shopkeeper be on the lookout for that too as it may become available.
The Yearbook
As of right now, the profile pages of the yearbook are now closed. The remaining pages are still open and will be open until IC February (Mid-March OOC) time, so in the near future. Be sure to post your pictures within the pages. If you have any problems please contact any of the Accio staff about the matter.
Netiquette
The admin and staff would like to remind folk about the netiquette. Please remember to be kind to all members on and off the site. In June of last year Nick wrote a blog post about behaviour on platforms outside of HNZ, which you can find here and we want to stress this again, no matter the platform being used. We want to take this time to remind you about this and about treating everyone with respect and kindness and if you see anyone being treated differently, do bring it to any of the admin or staff so we can help deal with it.
Compliments
We had a number of events both IC and OOC that have occurred during this past month. First of those is the Valentines Compliments, a huge thanks to Cyndi and the other staff who made it possible and put in all the hard work to ensure the compliments were ready. A thanks to everyone who took the time to submit compliments too. It is always exceedingly sweet to read the compliments and you should check it out here if you haven't already done so.
Candy Canes
As of right now, the Candy Canes event is over. The directory will be updated soon to include the last few links. We'd like to again thank all of those who took part in the event, either in sending candy canes, organising it or characters giving them out. It takes a lot of hard work, and it is greatly appreciated.
Valentine's werewolf
A very exciting game of werewolf has begun, unfortunately if you missed the sign up period you won't be able to join the game. BUT you can follow along with the game! It can get very exciting and tense at times so be sure to check in at every so often and see what's going on and whose winning. It's great fun!

I love the new shopping system, though as of now it mostly seems to be used for necessary school shopping 
I'm very excited for Werewolf and for Accio down the line!
