[adminapproval=10763299] Four years was an awfully long time for an engagement but if there was one word to describe his relationship with Ava, Nicolas would confess that it must be 'slow'. From their chance encounter in the halls of Hogwarts (she already married with children), to their plodding courtship, and the bumpy engagement which somehow, miraculously, brought them to this present day. It was most certainly some ancient and arcane magic which allowed this day to finally be upon them, and Nicolas was glad for it beyond all expression.

It was fitting, then, that their wedding should try to embody these traits that were true of the whole of their entanglement with one another: slow, simple, but most of all: magical. In a field near the edge of a cliff overlooking the deep of the ocean far below, wildflowers bloomed into their springtime life and offered a promise of new life for the future, a fitting symbol for the birth of a new way of life for this couple as well. White chairs had been arranged in rows facing toward the ocean and the setting sun, an aisle of purple flower petals led the way toward the front of the gathering and fairies (ever vain) had more than willingly volunteered their light for the evening, dancing through the air in the hopes of gathering some attention and admiration for themselves.

The guests having arrived, Nicolas stood a couple of metres from the cliff's edge beside the ministry official who would preside over the celebration that evening. The crowd of people before him - Hogwarts staff, ministry employees, old friends, some people invited purely out of a sense of obligation - made it even more real to him that this was actually happening. What had once seemed like a far-off impossible dream was happening around him and for the first time he was nervous about it. This was different from anything he'd ever set out to do in his life - this was forever, and he was simultaneously excited and terrified. What would the future hold? His eyes closed for a moment as he tried to calm his restless mind, and he thoughtlessly patted his pocket for the ring. Still there. Still here. Still happening. He opened his eyes and waited for his bride to appear.

Seraphine Hensel, still the Minister after an awfully long election, couldn't believe that this day came. She was happy for the Head Auror, seeing as he had been there during the entire time she was the Minister. Talked on few occasions, but nothing more. Dressed in dark pink robes, with her hand on her son's shoulder, she made her way through the guests to find a perfect place to see the whole thing. A wedding like this was definitely one to be celebrated. The union of Professor Ava Davershire, the Headmistress she chose for the school, and Nicolas King, the Head Auror. It was beautiful. Her blue eyes looked to the surroundings, taking in the scenery. The ocean below with the gentle waves blended with the calm sky. In fact, she was almost a little envious of this type of wedding. Seraphine's wedding was quiet, out of eyes of the public. It was for all intent and purposes: quiet. She led herself to a white chair in the third row. Her eyes observed the ocean for a sheer moment, before they went to the fairies. How creative! The creatures were cute, but it appeared to work out. Seraphine was quite impressed with the whole wedding, and the decorations.

Finally, the Minister's eyes landed on the groom. Were his eyes closed? A million questions ran through her mind. She knew that when she walked up the aisle to marry Thomas, he was nervous, excited, all at the same time. She placed her hands on her lap, and she wished him luck for the wedding. Some grooms fainted, from what she heard. Surely, the Head Auror wouldn't do this. Aurors had this reputation to some for being some tough wizards due to the nature of their work. Even so, Seraphine didn't imagine that any person would be calm and collected for their wedding. Even she had cold feet. It was natural, but once the wedding was over, the true fun would begin. 'Good luck, Nicolas,' thought Seraphine in her mind, as she, too, waited for the ceremony to begin. She felt a little guilty for not arriving with her husband. Weddings like this just weren't his idea for an evening. Oh well, with his grumpy demeanor, he might have made the atmosphere less romantic and perfect.

Lifting the skirt on her dress slightly, Cyndi made her way quickly from one room to the next, a pair of earrings in her fist and a triumphant smile on her face. Ava had asked her to find them, and she was glad that she'd succeeded in the task. Just part of her duties as the maid of honor. "Oh, Ava...you look amazing" she breathed as she stepped back into the room where she'd left the bride-to-be. "Nicolas is going to love it" she added as she passed the earrings over and leaned against the dresser, admiring her friend's dress. The woman watched as Ava went about her final preparations, a smile on her face. Evening was finally here, and Cyndi was determined that it be a perfect night for her best friend. She'd certainly waited long enough for it.

Cyndi glanced at the clock and realized that she'd better move Ava along. Although he hadn't asked her to, Cyndi was fairly certain that her old professor would appreciate her attempts to ensure his bride's timely arrival. "Hon...you've reached the stage that if you do any more, you'll be messing with perfection" she stated, a smirk crossing her face as she picked up her purple bouquet to complement her gown. The woman held out her free hand so that the two friends could apparate to the field together. Squeezing Ava's hand, Cyndi mouthed the words 'good luck' as she closed her eyes and apparated them from the front steps of Ava's cottage to the cliff-side field.

Immediately, the sound of the ocean waves took over and Cyndi opened her eyes. The space was beautifully decorated, the chairs lined up in neat rows, the flower petals lining the path that Ava would walk as soon as she was ready. The professor waited patiently, ready to take her friend's cue.

Godmods were done with permission.

A mixture of nerves and excitement had overcome Ava. However, it was a different sort of excitement than what she was used to. Ava felt like she was floating on a cloud. She had spent most of the day relaxing with Cyndi, but it had come to the time where she had to get ready.
It was a simple dress, white and elegant, yet it hugged her figure nicely. A bow wrapped around to the back, a few diamond accents here and there. Ava had had a wedding before, but that one was rushed. She felt like it was right at that moment, but as the years went on, she realized how wrong it really was. This time, she was sure about Nicolas. They had definitely taken their time in getting to know each other, and after a long engagement, Ava was certain.
Cyndi had been the best matron of honor, helping her relax during the day, and letting her know when it was time to get ready. Ava had her hair in an elegant up-do, complete with curls and plaits. She had forgotten her earrings, so Cyndi was finding them for her, as she retouched her make-up. Blushing before striking her best pose as Cyndi complimented her, Ava thanked Cyndi. She'd have to get her the best thank-you gift. Ava felt as if time was standing still, yet speeding by at the same time. It was the most bizarre feeling.
The bride sat in front of her mirror, tucking in a few loose strands of hair, and applying her final touches when Cyndi spoke. Ava laughed quietly before putting on her heels, grabbing her multicolored rose bouquet, and squeezing Cyndi's hand back.
Ava almost didn't want to open her eyes, her breath caught in her throat, not believing that this day had finally come. But she was glad when she did, as she was in the most beautiful and calming place. A few tears pricked in her eyes as she quickly asked Cyndi to fix anything that got put out of place from the apparation. Ava gave her matron of honor a quick hug before nodding as to start. Music magically started playing and Ava stood quietly, waiting for her moment. She watched Cyndi make way down the aisle, taking a deep breath before beginning her walk.
Stepping in time to the music, Ava's eyes fell on her groom, and butterflies fluttered in her stomach. A smile grew on Ava's face, and though she knew that her children were there, and so many of her friends, she couldn't take her eyes off of her groom. They were in another world, just the two of them, and soon enough, she was standing opposite Nicolas.

Demyx had been slightly late in arriving to the wedding, mainly due to his sister being tardy, but slightly due to the fact that he had been late in getting home to get ready as he had again been at the office. Now standing in one of the various crowds of the wedding, the Auror made idle chit chat with the group of people around him. He had already spotted the head Auror and the Minister for Magic, and had also seen Nicolas's fiancé and Headmaster of Hogwarts, Professor Davershire, as well as the Hogwarts Head of House Cyndi Kingsley. Demyx and his sister Maya slowly made their way over to another group of people and Demyx jumped in chatting away, trying to make his sister feel less awkward then she already was. He was somewhat hopeless when it came t social graces however, and he looked more awkward then she did at most times.

When it came time to take their seats, Demyx was thankful for the break in chatter, as his social awkwardness had been stretched as much as it had been already. He took his place next to Maya and sat back, relaxing as much as he could in the uncomfortable iron chair. He would be thankful when it came time to get out of this god awful uncomfortable suit, though he didn't show that as he waved and smiled his congratulations to his boss and friend Nick.

Weddings weren't exactly one of Maya Demon Bane's most favorite of events, mainly because it reminded her of her own parents marriage and how that had ended, but today the idea of celebrating the union of Nick and Ava was somehow even less appealing. Maya didn't have the slightly problem with the couple, she wished them the world of happiness in fact, but the awkwardness that she was enduring was not comforting. Demyx and Maya had both been late to the wedding, mostly because Maya had pestered while getting ready, wanting to spend as much time away from the event and from her memories of her parents. But soon enough they had arrived, Demyx jumping straight into polite chat with the other guests, while Maya just stood and nodding, trying to seem as much into the conversation as possible. While listening quietly to one of the Professors from Hogwarts, Maya spotted Nicolas, the groom, and Professor Davershire, his fiance and soon to be wife.

Demyx continued to chat away, waving and introducing her to people she had never met, only to have her forget their names soon after. Demyx, being the observant brother he was, knew that she felt awkward at weddings, and tried to keep her out of the spotlight and conversation as much as possible. Soon enough it was time for everyone to take their seats, and looking beside herself, she saw her brother slouched slightly in discomfort in one of the iron chairs. She leaned down slightly, "Sit up straight," She whispered, before once again taking her seat and facing the top of the aisle, watching quietly as the wedding unfolded. The best of luck to you both, she thought silently to herself, I hope your marriage goes better them my parents' did.

A couple of months was a short time to get to know someone, and even then, Aeon knew very little about his boss, the Headmistress of Hogwarts New Zealand, and next to nothing about her partner by extension. Both he and Ava taught the same subject and she'd been the biggest help to him so far as he learned the ropes to being a Professor. But he didn't know her all that well on a personal level. Yet here he was, attending Ava and Nicolas' wedding in one of the most beautiful fields he'd ever seen, an expanse of green dotted with splashes of vibrant colour from the wildflowers in bloom on one side, and a sheer drop into the deep ocean blue on the other. It was quite exciting! The wizard had attended few weddings in his life; none of his friends had gotten married so far, or at least, as far as he knew. He himself was only recently engaged, evident by the sparkling silver ring adorning his finger. Neither he nor his partner had set a date for them to be wed as of yet, or gone so far as to decide on any specific details about it, but today was a good opportunity for him to gather ideas. The fairies flittering overhead had been a nice touch, he noted. They weren't a feature he'd have thought to use, but it made sense.

With Ava nowhere in sight, Summers mingled and chatted with a few of the other Hogwarts staff who were attending, keeping to those he was familiar with. He'd have felt far too out of place otherwise, especially as there were plenty of strangers around, Ministry workers or family he guessed. He could recognise Nicolas, as the groom he stood out amongst the others. The man didn't look too bad for his age, quite the catch for Davershire if he said so himself. Had he been the Headmaster whilst Aeon was in school? He couldn't remember. Small world though. He felt he should introduce himself, considering it was the man's wedding after all, but he couldn't find a window of opportunity to do so. Instead, he stayed with his fellow professors until the ceremony began.

With everyone called to begin, Summers took a free seat toward the back left, close to the aisle. His fingertips traced his collar and adjusted the smooth maroon fabric that made up his coat-tailed jacket. He hadn't owned any formal clothing prior to the occasion, but thankfully one of the other shopkeepers in Obsidian Harbor was a talented seamstress who'd been able to whip him up a suit on short notice. The music started up and before too long, Ava made her appearance, gradually walking down the aisle. Aeon smiled. She looked absolutely stunning.

Today was going to be a huge day, Elvera was rather sure the the prophet would be filled with news of this wedding for the rest of the week. how often after all did two such prominent figures in the new zealand wizarding world mary, Nicholas king, head auror and Ava Devonshire, headmistress. Elvera was n her bedroom trying to decide what to wear, only the bride should wear white to the wedding, but black was also not really an appropriate choice. unfortunately it seemed that most of her nice dresses were one of these two colours, or in a style that was to flamboyant for the event. eventually she settled on a black ad white combination that wasn't to dark, but not too white either. she slipped the dress on did her hair and makeup before kissing her tow girls goodbye and appararing to the cliffside where the wedding was being held. it had really been a long time coming, it felt like years since they had been singing girls just want to have fun in the casino bar for the hens night. She greeted a couple of her colleges and other friends she saw Cyndi appear and knew Ava would be there ready to walk down. She turned around and there was her boss and friend a vision in white, making her way to the front.
she was beautiful. not that she wasn't always beautiful. Elvera watched as the ceremony unfold feeling slightly as if she was in a fairytale. She was so happy for Ava and Nicholas it was clear they were deeply in love, and they had both been such fantastic and influential people to the young wizards and witches of new Zealand neither deserved anything less than the other. She watched the ceremony unfold, once totally forgetting and also being acutely aware of her own heartbreak. she would be lying if she didn't say a slight tear of happiness for the couple was forming in the corner of her eye causing her to rummage in her bag for a tissue.

Wearing a pair of navy dress robes, Mason sat in a seat near several other Aurors, admiring the view of the ocean. It really was a nice spot for a wedding, not that the man had any intentions of doing the marriage thing again. He'd been there and done that, and there were currently no prospects that made him think of repeating the process. Looking towards his boss, Mason silently chuckled at how dapper the man looked. Mason expected no less from the Head Auror, but it was still funny to see the man out of their working clothes and in something so fancy. Mason wasn't friends with the man, he was his superior after all, but he'd accepted the invitation to the wedding graciously nonetheless. It seemed a good way to spend his day off, and he figured it would look good if the boss saw that he'd shown up.

As the soon-to-be Mrs. King began her walk down the aisle, Mason stood up. He'd never met the woman before, but he'd seen her in the newspaper whenever the wizarding school was discussed. She looked beautiful in her wedding gown, and Mason hoped that she and Nicolas would have a happy life together.

Giovanni De Luca was proud of her boss. It was about time he got married! Go always had trouble dressing for such occasions because she felt like she would accidentally dress prettier than the bride. But, she doubted that could ever happen. The bride would always look amazing no matter what Giovanni decided to wear. She wished that she could pull Timmy out of school so that he could see all the people. Over the break, he was able to have full conversations with her. Sure, they consisted of a lot of questions, but she was proud of her son's achievements. He was going to grow to be a great adult if he kept up with his hard work in school and making friends.

Giovanni had taken a seat after conversing with some folks. This was so exciting! She was reminded of her wedding and her late husband. She looked at the front with a smile. She knew that she had to attend the wedding once she had heard of her boss's engagement. She liked to dress up, and she needed to support her coworkers. It was an obligation and a privilege to be at the wedding. She stood up with the others when the bride entered. "She is gorgeous." she whispered to herself.

The tell-tale pop of apparition announced Ava's arrival on the cliffside, and if the ring wasn't evidence enough for the reality of the present moment, his bride's presence reassured him immensely and settled many of his hurried thoughts and nervous anticipations. She was gorgeous. The length of time that it took to come to this moment seemed minuscule if it meant the rest of his life beside this woman, and he couldn't wait.

Nicolas beamed like a fool as Ava made her way up the aisle. His usual public stoicism fell away as he simply enjoyed this moment of joy and bliss. As far as he was concerned, there was no one else in the world in those seconds as Ava made her way opposite him. The officiant from the Ministry of Magic began the ceremony, and Nicolas' attention oscillated between the man's words and Ava's gaze; his own breathing, and the race of his heart inside his chest.

Eventually hearing the word 'vows', Nicolas focused more intentionally to what the official was saying and followed his instructions as he took Ava's hands in his own. He was then instructed to make his vows to her, and with a gentle smile, his eyes still beaming, and a brief squeeze of Ava's hands, Nicolas began: "Ava Davershire. I promise to love you for the woman you are now, and the person you'll continue to become. In the midst of all change and uncertainty, hardship and strife, I promise to be at your side: your quickest defender, your fiercest supporter, your truest companion. I promise to bring you as much joy as I can, sharing my life wholly with you - from this day, to my last."

Riley sat nervously in between her brother and her fiance. She had helped her mother quite a bit leading up to the big day, but when it finally arrived, Riley had to step back and leave it up to her previous Head of House and the Maid of Honor. Riley didn't know why she was nervous. She was also excited.
The daughter had long gotten used to her mother being married to another man. They had been engaged long enough, Riley almost had no choice but get used to it. But she was happy for her mom. It was going to be an exciting day.
Clutching the hand of both her fiance and her brother, Riley squeezed them, blinking back tears as they stood for the bride. She turned and watched the stunning bride walk down the aisle, grabbing her little boy and hugging him tight ; he sighed, but tolerated it. As her mom arrived at the front, they all sat down, Riley passing her son back to her fiance, and re-holding the hands of the two men next to her. She listened, quietly crying with a huge smile on her face, as they exchanged their vows. Riley was so happy that this day had finally come.

Over the years, Braxton had gotten to know his boss better, and he couldn't believe that it was finally the day that his mother was going to marry him. He idolized the man, and was happy that his mother had found someone who not only was the coolest dude around, but who she also truly loved. He had tried to get back into contact with his birth dad, who had been around for most of his life, but after his parents divorce, his dad took off, and though he had stayed in touch with Braxton for a couple of years, the communication slowly died off and now Braxton or Riley were lucky to get a birthday card.
However, this day was not about him, and Braxton sat next to his sister, who was holding onto his hand. He squeezed it back, encouragingly as they turned to watch the bride arrive. Braxton smiled; his mother was truly beautiful. As they sat back down, Braxton readjusted himself, checking his wand was still there. He had a minor mishap when he first started as an Auror where he sat down and his wand slipped out. Luckily, a kind person picked it up and returned it, but it was incredibly embarrassing. Still there. Braxton relaxed and watched the ceremony unfold, smiling as his mother got married to a man they both loved (though in completely different ways).

It was a moment Ava had almost forgotten about. Of course, she had pre-written her vows, but up until now she had forgotten she even had to speak. Holding hands with her groom, Ava squeezed gently back as Nicolas started his vows. The bride let her tears freely flow as he spoke, but luckily she wasn't a blubbering mess. As he placed the ring on her finger, Ava grinned. She probably looked foolish, and felt as if she would never stop smiling, but Ava didn't care and she doubted any of her guests did either. This was the happiest moment in her life. She wiped away the few tears on her cheeks before taking a deep breath and starting her vows. "Nicolas King, I promise to love you without reservation, to comfort you in times of distress, encourage you to achieve all of your goals, laugh with you and cry with you, grow with you in mind and spirit, always be honest with you and to cherish you, for as long as we both shall live."
Ava put the ring onto Nicolas' finger and held his hands. She continued to stare at Nicolas as she heard the official start to speak. By the power vested in him, she was now wife to Nicolas King. He could now kiss his bride. And he did. Their first kiss as husband and wife, and it was magical.
Then the ceremony was over. It felt like it had just started, but it didn't have to be long. The longest was waiting for it to happen, but now that it had, it was gone in a flash. Still, it wasn't about getting married, it was about being married. Ava was the happiest she could be. As they were presented as husband and wife, Ava held her husband's hand and held it up in celebration. Ava was passed her flowers back from Cyndi, who she beamed at, and looking around, Ava smiled at each and every person. She was so happy that they were all there to celebrate this wonderful moment with the two of them. Holding her bouquet in one hand, and her husband's hand in the other, Ava walked back down the aisle with Nicolas, her husband.

The novelty of watching a wedding from this vantage point never seemed to wear off. At least that is what Cyndi believed as she stood off to the side. She had the advantage of being much closer than most, but she really didn't need to be to see the love in Nicolas and Ava's eyes. It brought tears to her own even before they began their vows. As they declared their love for each other, Cyndi had to juggle both her and Ava's bouquets so that she could dab at her eyes, hoping desperately to not smudge her makeup. She was certainly going to be testing the charm that was meant to keep it from smudging and running if these two kept it up.

Glancing toward the seats, Cyndi searched for her husband and smiled when she found him. As the two were pronounced husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. King, the woman beamed back at her friend, clapping her hands together and messing her own bouquet up slightly in the process. The happiness was infectious as was the love in the air, and Cyndi wanted nothing more than to be in her own husband's arms. It wouldn't be long before she could be.

A wedding was not something Harley understood. She couldn't understand why anyone would want to spend so much money to get a piece of paper so that people are married to someone they think they love. But love never lasted. People only thought that someone loved them, but no-one could fully love one single person for their whole life. This was the first wedding Harley had ever attended.
It wasn't on order. Nobody knew why she was here, or even that she was here. It was ridiculously easy to get in. Nicolas King was the head Auror, and always on guard. How could the Scitorari ever move on with him on alert? And when would he not be on alert? At his wedding of course. Because of Nicolas King, and Ava Davershire, and Seraphine Hensel and so many other dull, boxed in people, many witches and wizards didn't understand the potential, and the power they had. Harley had felt fear first hand, and would rather be feared, than be scared. The Scitorari had to start doing something and Harley was glad to start it. This was the perfect day to do it too. Many people would disagree, with so many Ministry people and Auror's being there, but would any of them expect this? Would anyone be on their guard? And with so many witnesses, word is bound to get around. When would she do it? When would cause the right amount of pain? The noisiest part of the wedding was when they would be walking back down the aisle. Everyone is cheering, no one expects a thing.
After the most boring experience of her life, Harley felt slightly anxious. Would she be able to pull this off? What if she was struck down before she achieved her goal? Gripping her wand tightly, swallowing hard, Harley stood with the rest of the crowd, having chosen a seat by the aisle so she had perfect aim. As the new couple walked down, Harley moved swiftly, knowing it was now or never. She held out her wand, and uttered the killing curse. "Avada Kedavra." As soon as the green jet hit the man, Harley dropped her wand, putting her hands up, to show she had no interest of slaughtering anyone else. Harley Aria had achieved her goal, and would go quietly.

Overjoyed was probably underselling what Nicolas felt as he and Ava exchanged vows and rings. The vows were intimate and deeply felt - the kinds of things rarely acknowledged between people in private: now made public for all to know. These rings would be a testament to those vows - the cool metal a reminder of his love for Ava, and what he once told her that meant, as well as her commitment to him. He looked forward to lives of doing the kinds of things Ava spoke about: growing together, encouraging one another, be truly honest with one other person forever. For a man of secrets this kind of relationship was an exceptional relief and Ava was the only person he could now imagine this happening with. He'd come so close to this kind of moment so many times in his past, but now he was glad that it was this woman with whom he had finally made it. His life was going to be a lot different in the future, and he couldn't wait to see what that felt like.

Nicolas' mind was already at the reception, already dancing with and holding his new bride, as the pure bliss of the moment seemed to propel him back up the aisle. Not sparing the crowd a glance, his gaze alternated between Ava's beaming eyes and their goal toward the open field in front of them. He'd have been happy to marry Ava secretly in the dead of night with only Merlin to witness the occasion.

A quiet start to a spell beside him ripped the man from his wedding and alerted the auror of the imminent threat - to whom he was not sure. He had let his guard down, and now he feared again for everyone close to him. He instantly felt the fool for ever having convinced himself to lead a normal life, to trust that death was not always behind him looking to claim those he cared for. That even at his wedding death must find its way in upset him beyond belief. Ava's hand still clasped to his own, he reached with his far hand for his wand, but before he felt its familiar wood at his fingers the flash of green light filled his periphery and a bolt struck him - sending the happiest man in the world to his grave instantly, painlessly, still worried for the lives of those around him.

Amauri Chevalier arrived to the wedding, among the other guests. He made his way through the crowd and sat down next to Mason, a coworker of his. The two got along all right, but were no means close. He looked ahead with cold eyes, not in any way offensive at all. Amauri was naturally a cold being. He placed his hands onto his lap and took in the ceremony. He had not been to many weddings. He remembered his own, and how quick and sloppy the ceremony was. Everything was rushed. Here, everything looked as though every detailed was planned with perfection. Amauri wondered if Nicolas King, his boss, or Ava Davershire did this. He watched in silence as the bride made her way up the aisle, and the two started the exchange of vows. Amauri remained silent, yet somewhat happy for the Auror. He never saw the man with a spouse, and finally, he had one.

The kiss formed, and the two were married. Nicolas King and Ava King, it seemed to just fit. That is, when Amauri noticed a woman stand up in front of him and a few seats down. Her wand raised and Amauri jumped to his feet as he heard the killing curse. He looked with shock as Nicolas King was struck down, randomly. Any sort of assault like this should have been prevented. He looked to Mason and both appeared to be thinking the same thing. The woman dropped her wand, obviously satisfied in what she had done. Amauri rushed forward and grabbed the woman by her right arm, as Mason had on her left. Amauri let out a sigh and he looked to the now widow. Who knew how long she was married for. Thirty seconds, give or take. Either way, the killer would be taken to Azkaban. There were too many witnesses.

They should have been at the end of the aisle by now. The newly-wed's gaze was fixed on her now husband as a worried look took over the happiness that was on his face. There wasn't a moment to process. A ripple, a bright green light and the slackened hand. Confusion and fear overtook Ava, but she hardly looked around as she fell to the ground with her husband. Her gaze fixated on the man she loved, but his was unseeing. This had to be a nightmare. She obviously wasn't married yet, she had to try to wake herself up.
But, ever real as the vows, the kiss, and her tears, Ava was kneeling next to her dead husband. This wasn't fair. They hadn't started their lives together. Ava stayed silent, tears forming freely, and her body shaking as she stared at the face of Nicolas. He wasn't old enough to die. He had so much life left. Why was he dead? The crowd and the noise came back to Ava in seconds as she looked up for help. Through her blurry vision, she saw people around her, as she searched for Cyndi's face. She burst out sobbing as their eyes connected, her best friend not too far away. Ava clutched Nicolas' hand with both of hers willing him back. "He's-make him...help me." Ava weeped. They should have been at the reception by now.

Catching her husband's eye as the newly married couple began to make their way up the aisle, Cyndi blew the man a kiss as she followed not too far behind them. Now, they could finally begin a new chapter in their lives, a chapter that would unfortunately be cut short. The flash of green light that smacked into Nicolas registered in the woman's actions as she stopped short, staring at her former professor. It didn't quite register as quickly in her head, though it didn't take much longer. The bouquet fell out of Cyndi's hands, her hand moving to her mouth in utter shock. She was frozen in place. Had the woman been looking to take out more people, Cyndi would have been an easy target.

As Ava's eyes met with Cyndi's, she seemed to unfreeze, hot tears burning their way down her cheeks. She took a step forward, though there was nothing that could be done for her former Head of House, the man that she's both feared and respected immensely. Ava's weeping filled the air, a sound she knew she wouldn't soon forget. As Aurors rushed forward to grab the murderer, Cyndi pushed through the few people between her and Ava. Cyndi shook her head sadly, the tears falling freely off of her chin as others in the crowd rushed forward. It was pointless. No one had ever come back from the killing curse.

Sorry i didn't get the chance to reply before. I hope you don't mind me doing so now!

Abbigale had been excited when she was finally able to attend the wedding of the century. Ava was a good friend and she wished her all the happiness in the world. Abby may not have known Nicolas King all that well, but she knew Ava and if it made her happy, then that was all that was needed. Of course all of the Professor's had been invited to the wedding, a rather simple affair considering. Not that Abby thought anything less of it. She had a very small and simple ceremony herself and she thought that it was best to have whatever one wanted. Of course, she and Ciro had arrived separately and met up later. Though they were now together, they had not gone public with it, not that it was anyone's business but their own, but still. This was not her day, she refused to be the cause of a bad day. She would tell Ava all about it later, after she'd settled into her new life as a wife. It had taken a long time to get here, but finally Ava and Nicolas were married and none could be happier for the lovely couple.

Alas, it was not to last. Abby stood with the others as the watched the couple walk back down the aisle, her hand snaked into Ciro's as she smiled at her friend, a quick congratulations on her lips. Everything happened so fast. No sooner had she been about to reach out and squeeze Ava's shoulder, was the woman on the ground clutching her husband to her. Abby shook her head in disbelief as Auror's rushed to apprehend someone. What had just happened? As she looked down at the scene before her, the evidence came to light and Abby immediately turned away from the sight and buried her face in Ciro's shoulder. How could something like this have happened at a wedding such as this? Abby would have thought that this was the safest place in the world. Ava had not even been married five minutes and she was already a widow. Abby cried into Ciro's jacket and refused to turn around, because she knew that she would be no help to Ava now, what was done was done and there was no point getting involved. There was nothing for her to do.
