both of bee's parents were wizards but her father was muggle-born. bee's maternal grandparents died long before she was born so she never got to know them. her paternal grandparents are still alive but they are muggles and they do not approve of the wizarding world, or their son being a wizard, so they do not keep in contact at all. once when bee's family was at its lowest point, her father reached out to them for financial help and they refused because they do not agree with their lifestyle. so they probably don't know bee exists and bee learned not to ask about them.

for a while bee didn't know what she wanted to be when she grew up. she really enjoys surfing and for the longest time she thought of eventually helping her brother co-own his surf shop, but bee knew she was destined for bigger things. she is used to being the underdog and constantly fights for visibility. everything about her is a fight to be taken seriously and being seen: being a woman, a person of color, her blood status, her sexuality. because of this bee wants to work in politics to fight for societal change. ideally she wants to be minister of magic because she wants to be the best.

beth has a large thin scar running down her bicep and forearm because of a surfing accident once where she got slammed against a reef. she is not ashamed of it and it didn't deter her from surfing.

beth is a bit of a tomboy, and it doesn't help that she mostly wear's hand-me-downs from her older brothers, so she is almost always in oversized shirts and jeans. normally it would look very baggy and ill-fitting, but beth wears it with such confidence and style that she makes it look intentional. it is her 'hip hop' style. she accessorizes with combat boots, sneakers, or necklaces and bracelets made out of butterbeer bottle caps to pull her outfits together and make the baggy shirts look stylish.
although bee owns a few dresses and skirts for special occasions, she prefers her own formal style. at the moment she has started a tradition at the yule ball where she wears suits instead of dresses and she intends to keep that up because she likes that it makes her stand out. her school robes are all faded grey, and oversized, from being her brothers' hand-me-downs.

if bee was given veritaserum the one secret that she would accidentally reveal that she had been hiding for her whole life is that she doesn't really care about her mother. she understands that it's really sad that she died, especially given that she wanted a daughter for so long which is why she kept trying, but beth never got to know her at all, so she doesn't know a life with her and therefore doesn't have anything to miss. if she accidentally let this out she knows this would crush her brothers and father though so she would never ever tell them this.

She's heard nothing but great things about how loving and amazing she was. She gets told she has her mother's passion.	Father | James, 64 (2029: 52*) Primary School Teacher Hogwarts Scotland, Gryffindor​ Bee's dad is a very charming, hardworking man. He raised her to be as strong willed and tough as her older brothers. Though he isn't avoiding dating, he hasn't remarried since his wife died and is mostly focused on working and enjoying his new grandchildren..
Brother | Lucian "Luz", 38 (2029: 26) Healer Hogwarts Scotland, Slytherin​ Luz is the oldest Zanders brother and is therefore the hardest working of them all. He's seen his parents struggle the most so he tries to pick up the slack as much as he can and contribute. He became a healer because he wanted to be something substantial that also makes money; he just wants to make his parents proud with his hard work ethic.	Brother | Rafael "Rafa", 35 (2029: 23) Dragon Trainer Hogwarts Scotland, Ravenclaw​ Ralph is the strong silent type of brother. Ever since his mother died he hardly comes home to visit because it's too hard for him but he is doing well out in the world. Despite being distant, he and his family have a close relationship and similar work ethic. Rafa is still happy traveling and being single with no plans to settle down or start a family since he doesn't want to struggle the way his parents did.
Brother | Jefferey "Jay", 31 (2029: 19) Zanders' Surf Shack, Business Owner Hogwarts Scotland, Gryffindor​ Jay is definitely Bee's favorite brother (shhh). He's the one who taught her how to surf and she models her behavior after him. He's super lax about everything and is content with where he's at. Their father worries about him but Jay actually does well with his business, Zanders' Surf Shack which sells surfboards made from magical wood (much like wand wood) so it has magical properties. Bee looks up to him a lot and aspires to be like him.	Brother | Phillip "Lip", 29 (2029: 17) Unemployed, Aspiring Chef Hogwarts Scotland, Slytherin​ Lip took their mother's death the hardest since he was most attached to her. It definitely changed his entire outlook on life and lost a part of his childhood from then on. He's the moodiest and broodiest of the bunch, definitely being meaner to Bee than any of the other boys. Perhaps its secret resentment, but he still loves her regardless. Lip struggles a lot with himself, mostly with his sexuality and he doesn't seem able to come to terms with it, which further fuels his angst.
Brother | Diggory "Diggy", 26 (2029: 14) Healer Hogwarts Scotland, Hufflepuff​ Being the youngest Zanders brother definitely sucks for Diggy sometimes, but he makes the most of it. He likes the superiority over Bee, but he's too nice to actually bully her or anything. Since the house was mostly empty as he grew up he is mostly a quiet, shy but kind person. He looked up to his oldest brother Luz and became a Healer like him.
