Winter break of 2043
The Rosemary family were to have guests over. Daniel had no idea how many exactly were going to be here but he loved being surrounded by others, ever since he started his first year at Hogwarts the Slytherin had enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. He was similar in that way to his sister. The fourth year was now finishing to set up the music, Amy was somewhere bringing the food on the tables, as their house was quite big but not mansion-like. They did have many rooms and an enormous garden though, so it was perfect when his family visited. Actually, they had just moved to New Zealand and Daniel had to admit that he was thrilled. His parents were gone up to change and when his mother came downstairs, instructed the twins to do so and that they would complete setting up everything. Within minutes the music was up, he'd borrowed his uncle's mobile phone and he was dressed appropriately for the occasion. Not necessarily elegantly, but casually in jeans and a long-sleeved shirt with a hoodie over the clothes. Soon the boy found his sister and he grinned at her, as she smiled back they decided to wait outside for everyone to arrive. He wondered whether his cousins or his friends would come first but he'd soon find out, hopefully.

Kaia hadn't felt this strange for a while. She had a real sister, someone who came from the same mother and it had been months since she met the both of them. She wondered whether they were coming, though she had made sure to send them an owl to invite them over long before the day considering other friends and cousins were coming as well. Although, it was odd just being here with Amy and Dan, she grew up with them so she would always see them as family, but now that she knew they were not related by blood it made her feel slightly distant from them. Kaia knocked on the door, holding Bella's hand with Matt by her side and parents behind her. When she saw Amy and Dan's mother Evelyn, she smiled and hugged her, before nudging Gabriella towards the garden, where she would be following shortly. She just needed to talk to her uncle and aunt first about something, then she would be joining her cousins. Thankfully it was a sunny day, so there wasn't any need to worry about whether it was cold like in Europe or about rain on this particular day. The Ravenclaw went in search for them, because they had just disappeared and after finding them and asking them what she needed to, she smiled. It would be a great surprise. Kaia thanked Alan and Evelyn and headed out where she greeted her older, adoptive cousins. She kept checking her watch nervously in case Aubrielle arrived.

Aubrielle Grimm finally was about to meet Kaia's adoptive family. Her and Maybelle apparated to Europe and landed on a house filled with laughter. The door was left open and there were many people occupying the living room. The blond haired girl stepped into the house as her eyes searched for her sister, Kaia. She was groggy enough to tremble. Aubrielle had never liked being the center of the attention moreover meeting people who Kaia knew but were foreign to Brielle. The girl spotted a person who looked a lot like her older sister and called for her "Kaia!" the ten years old walked toward the brunette and placed her hand over her shoulder to see whether she was her sister or not. Maybelle followed her daughter and smiled at the rest of the group. She had brought a package of gifts for Kaia's parents as a thank you gift for taking care of her dear little daughter. The Rosemary didn't know the real reason why Maybelle and Zephir decided to give Kaia up for an adoption, it was confidentaial. Only the family of four knew what really happened.

Matt honestly felt uninterested in going to his cousin's house for a get together, it wasn't that he didn't want to see them. It was simply that he knew he was going to find it boring there. Unless there were loads of people, which the ten year old had no idea were even coming. All he was told was that friends and family were to come over at the Rosemary's because they'd just moved to New Zealand. Amy and Dan had in any case. His own family was still back in England. He smiled upon seeing his aunt open the door and after giving her a hug and sending her a warm smile, followed Kaia outside to greet the twins. It was only a few minutes later when somebody else arrived and Matt paid no attention to her whatsoever when she called his older adopted sibling. When he finally gazed at her he low-whistled. She was extremely pretty. "Who's that?" He smirked at the girl and winked. She looked around Matt's age.

Gaby rolled her sea-green eyes when she was called. They'd interrupted her nice quiet time again. But, she couldn't complain as they were going to their cousins house. She didn't even care though, so what was the point, they weren't even her real family. It wasn't that long ago since they had adopted her and to be honest she'd rather be living in that orphanage instead of here. These people were horrible. Save for Kaia, who wasn't even related to any of them. Bella got up very slowly, trying to stall. When Matt came into her room, they had rented a hotel for two weeks, she sighed. "What do you want? Go, I'll be right there," her tone pretty authoritative for a seven year old. Well she could be quite demanding. She was told people didn't like being near her when she got angry, and they better had reason to.

They soon got there so the girl went outside to greet her cousins, completely ignoring her aunt and uncle and stood with Kaia, when yet another person walked up to her Gaby huffed and walked away. She was so not in the mood to talk to strangers. Besides one look at the girl and Bella knew instantly she was no fun to hang around. She had to admit, a small part of her was curious as to how Kaia knew her. The curiosity was soon lost on her and quite soon the redhead was beginning to feel annoyed from boredom. It was so inconvenient for her to be here right now. To have taken a plane just to come to New Zealand to see cousins she herself was not even related to. How pathetic. She didn't meet them until now, today, and she still could not care less.

Leo had no idea exactly what this 'get together' day was going to hold or how it'll be. He just hoped a friend or two of his were to come, because then he was able to have fun. They were family friends, the Rosemary and Benivieni families. Leo never met the children though. So when he arrived and greeted everyone with a cheerful 'hello' and when he was told to go outside along with his siblings he almost gaped at who lived here. He didn't know their names, but he knew their faces. The fourth year twins in his brother's year. The Gryffindor nudged him but as usual he only rolled his eyes at Leo's obvious revelation. Of course Alessio knew who they were. Shrugging, Leo went over to them with his sister Sara and waved. "Hey. I'm Leo," he grinned and went to introduce his younger sister but she beat him to it. His friends weren't here yet but the third year knew they would be soon. They had to be.

Sara wasn't usually nervous about meeting other people. After all, they were family friends and friends of friends but the young girl couldn't help but wonder whether she was going to be the youngest one there. Her worries were gone as soon as she spotted a certain head she had wanted to avoid. Clearly, there was no hope for the ten year old. Ugh. Sighing, she unwillingly let Leo take her to the garden, where she wanted to gasp at the beautiful sight. It was amazing! She couldn't have guessed that Matt's cousins owned a grand garden. She adored anything green.
"I'm Sara," she smiled at Alessio's classmates and she figured Matt's older sister before her brother said anything more. The guy could be talkative, it was best if she had introduced herself. For some reason, Sara wanted to be liked by Matt's family. She couldn't care less about him, she already found the older blonde girl amiable. Maybe she gave off that energy. The youngest Benivieni child noticed another young girl, seeming her age so she sent her a small smile because she knew Matt's sister. "Hello, I'm Sara. What's your name?" she asked.

Vaska was sooo up for a party, actually any party will do for her. The blond haired girl curled her hair as the flying chariot took her to the residence of the Rosemary. She wasn't really sure who they were but she got invited somehow so why not? Once she arrived the girl entered the house and smiled at the people in there. Her eyes spotted a boy who seemed to be available. Available as in to talking to them. She didn't care if the boy was single or not and if his girlfriend was to be there, she would make her so jealous that the girl would end up crying in the bathroom. The Russian took the drink that was served on the table and sipped it.

Firmiana sat at the back of a marked New Zealand police SUV. No, she wasn't arrested or some sort. It happened that the one driving her to a party she was invited was her cop step father, a high ranking cop. She was a little bit embarrassed because of the big bold letters of the word POLICE on both sides of the SUV plus the obvious emergency light on the roof. Firmiana doesn't want Daniel to think that she's using tax payers money just for a ride to a party. "You have your phone so message me when the party is done." Her step father said from the rear view mirror. "Yes, dad." She simply said. It took an hour of lecture from her step father before she could convince him to take her, being in the force, he knows what teenagers do nowadays but Firmiana made sure that none of what he told her was happening. As they arrived in front of a big house, almost mansion-like, Firmiana immediately unbuckled her seat-belt and kissed her step father on the cheeks. The Slytherin just keeps thinking that this is the first time her step father will handle a teenager daughter and that he's just concerned.

Once the SUV was gone, Firmiana took a sigh of relief and spotted the only person she knows around. She put a smile on her lips and walked toward Daniel, "Hey, you! Looking good." Dan was the first official friend she met at Hogwarts New Zealand, now she doesn't feel lonely or anything plus there's Ali who she wished she could invite as a plus one but he might be with his family having their own holiday getaway.

Alessio had to admit he'd never been a people person, only once he got to know people did he then start relaxing about not being so self-conscious. He talked to his mom about it and she told him to forget about his anxieties and take opportunities to make new friends. After all, the year was over and soon he'd be in fifth. It wasn't like he had much longer to make friends anyway. The hufflepuff didn't meet or make the effort to reach out to anyone from his house thus far, well except for Amy who was quite nice to him. When they were on their way, Al almost forgot about what he was feeling about being around so many people at once and closed his eyes until they got there. An hour or so into the party his eyes spotted someone he knew so excitedly, he went over to her. "Mia!" He exclaimed, reaching to give her a hug. There was his favourite Slytherin and a dear friend of his. Now the fun could officially begin. The boy had absolutely no idea that Daniel knew Mia, but for this small fact he sent his classmate a nod and a small smile in thanks.

Charlotte had never been to the Rosemary household before. Despite this, she was very excited to have been invited to such an event, even if her ex boyfriend was going to be there. Charlotte wanted more than anything to still be friends with james. She knew though that he had recently found someone else which she tried not to let bother her. Better yet, Maddie had also found someone else too and Charlotte didn't particularly know how to feel about that. Why had Maddie been dating a girl last semester? Charlotte didn't understand that, but she was happy for the two of them anyway while they lasted. Charlotte however knew that she was not interested in girls, but she hoped that one day she would be able to find someone eventually and was no longer worried what anyone might think if she didn't have a boyfriend.

Once Charlotte had dressed herself in a simple white flower dress, the Slytherin said goodbye to her mother before leaving the house with Spencer and her father and apparating straight in front of the Rosemary household. It looked extremely big and much bigger than anything Charlotte had lived in in her life. What really caught her eye were the eye were the excellent gardens that surrounded the house. Her mother would have loved the look of it, and she smiled, hoping her brother felt the same way. With a small hug, Charlotte said farewells to her father before walking closer alongside Spencer towards the house where there were already a lot of people. Charlotte was eager to keep Spencer by her side throughout the whole thing. After all, he probably didn't know the majority of the people there and she didn't want him to feel lost or left out. Charlotte wearily looked around at all of the faces until she saw Amy's, and she beamed, waving excitedly at her until she would eventually turn around and acknowledge her.

Amy had to make sure everything was in order, and when her mother called her to change the hufflepuff smiled and squealed to herself in delight and out of excitement. This was going to be great. Now, a bit into the party, she looked around and resisted the urge to count the number of people who were here and who still had to come. The Benivieni's were here and that was one of the most important things. She had to wait for a few of her own friends though, her cousins were here and she tried to ignore the tug in her heart when Gaby distanced herself from the entire group. She was seven and she felt this way about life, poor girl. At hearing her name being called, Amy turned around and her eyes brightened, she was grinning like the Cheshire Cat. "Charlotte! I'm so glad you made it," she sent a friendly wave and a wink to her younger brother, who was adorable. "Hey you," she greeted him with a small laugh. "Dan! Get your butt over here and say hi to your friend!" Shaking her head she turned back to Char. "How are you?"

Felix was not used to parties with lots of people. When he was at home he tended to try to avoid them by going to a bike park or anything else other than the party itself, however, as it was Amy who had invited him, he'd felt rather inclined to attend, he didn't want to say no and risk upsetting her. He smiled at the other people he actually knew and waved at some of his friends. "Daniel, Alessio, man, you two never seem to be around when I'm looking for you. Did you guys find the room of requirement or something and not tell me?" He was friends with both, but not together. He knew Daniel mostly through Amy and Alessio through Marcella. Marcella was one of his best friends and he wondered if she was here at all today. "Oh, hey there Charlotte!" He called as he noted her. He hadn't spoken much to her since Maddie, but he liked her well enough, she was nice, though she had dated James, which annoyed him to no end. It wasn't like James was a threat to him, but there was just something about him sniffing around both Maddie and Charlotte that irked him. Felix finally located his girlfriend though and wrapped his arms around her. "Amy, you haven't asked me how I am all day and I'm beginning to feel just a little neglected."

Beth had been rather surprised to be invited to a holiday party at the Rosemary's house and had considered not going until she found out that Leo was going too. The fact that she would have one good friend there helped convince her to go and she hoped after this night she would have more friends. Since she lived in New Zealand her father had driven her to the address of the house and Bee gaped at how huge it was. She felt her face go hot at how wealthy the family seemed especially compared to her own but tried not to let that discourage her. They had still invited her so they obviously liked her enough despite her tattered robes. Now she was glad that her dad had forced her to wear something a little nicer than her usual; something that wasn't a hand-me-down from her brothers and she actually combed her wild hair back into a slick ponytail.

Bee waved goodbye to her dad from the door and stepped inside the large house. She looked around, seeing a lot of students from school which surprised her more than it should've, but it made her feel largely more at ease. She found Leo first and walked over to him with a huge grin and said, "Hey Leo! How are you?" But Bee couldn't stay with him for too long because she had to find the hosts of the party. Once she spotted Amy Rosemary, the Gryffindor walked over to her and said, "Hi, excuse me, sorry to interrupt," glancing at the crowd around her. She handed the girl a small gift which was a book of New Zealand sights for wizards that normal tourists or Muggles couldn't see. "My dad always insists to give hosts a gift when visiting them, and we figured since you all just moved to New Zealand this might help," Bee explained to the blonde girl with a small smile. She liked that her dad always insisted on giving people gifts even if they couldn't afford it half the time. "We're from New Zealand so he said we would be happy to show you all around if you'd like," she added. She felt a little awkward being so formal but she just wanted to get this out of the way before her dad got mad at her later for not giving the book to them right away and then going off to have fun.

James never said no to a party, even if it had the potential to be awkward. Partly it was because he liked a good party, partly because no matter what happened it would never outdue some of the stuff he had had to suffer at the Cade family Christmas parties. Whats the worst that could happen at Amy's house. The fact that Charlotte would be there wasn't lost on him and the fact that the last time he had seen Amy had been in a supply cupboard surrounded by Maddie and her brother. No, James was sure the party wouldn't be awkward at all.

The Gryffindor decided he would bring Jess along as a way to break the ice. Perhaps Maddie would bring Leila and their siblings could continue their weird and unlikely friendship. They were dropped off at the end of the street by their father who quickly disappeared again. James led Jess down the street and made his way into the house. "Hey Amy," He grinned spotting the blonde girl, hoping it wasn't awkward between the two
