This had been a long time coming. Since they’d both gotten into the upper years of school and decided to commit to this, he had been planning for it. There wasn’t a whole lot to do really, pureblood families had their fanfare, he’d made sure that after going home to start arrangements he’d gone to Katia and her family and gotten the Zhefarovich branding as he was supposed to. He had time to get it after they’d been married but he didn’t see the point in waiting around for it. He didn’t see the sense in not doing it immediately, if anything he hoped it in part showed his devotion to the family and to Katia. The former Hufflepuff had then put in the final arrangements for the wedding, it would in New Zealand, neutral ground for the families. He had invited his whole family, and of course the other important pureblood families that his father associated with. He had let his brothers and sisters invite people as they wanted to, though he could spot by the number of chairs perhaps he should’ve been specific with Liusaidh about how many people she could invite. Not that he minded, he was in part doing this for her, so she wouldn’t have to feel that pressure and if she was having fun and stuck to the confetti bombs then he’d be happy. Aonghas had extended an invitation to Rory and his plus one or however many, he had been surprised to receive an acceptance to it, which had prompted him to tell his parents that they had to be civil, and he put his best in charge voice as he did so. Aonghas was almost more nervous about seeing his brother again for the first time in years than the whole wedding. He’d come to terms with the wedding and his duty, he knew he’d never really gotten over what had happened to his brother. He’d sent Rory some family tartan, hoping that this could begin to heal in part what had happened.

The day had quickly come, the marquee had been raised in a beautiful field in New Zealand. There was a wonderful winter sun low in the sky, the whole place was lit with magical lanterns, and there were puffapod seeds everywhere, meaning that every so often something would drop and flowers would erupt. There was plenty of cut thistle and heather which had been his family’s import, that and all of the Fergusson clan, even Fraser, were wearing the family tartan, brand new kilts. He’d gotten confetti bombs, which were far more harmless than any glitter of stink bomb, made for weddings and it seemed to be preoccupying specifically Liusaidh which was the idea. There was a lot of food, plenty of places to dance. The ceremony was long over, and he was married. He had spotted Rory in the crowd, sitting with Graeme and the bairn, Fraser. Aonghas was stood at the head table with Katia, looking out over the different people having their fun or strict conversation depending on who it was. It seemed that a lot of pureblood families struggled to really have fun. But the odd scattering of children had made it so at least things did seem like they were having fun. He had his hand in hers and squeezed it lightly, ”My dear, ah think we need tae dae another set of rounds,” he had quiet voice when he spoke to her, mock frustration at having to do more rounds of talking to people, accepting congratulations and holding himself proud. ”What do ye say?”

OOCOut of Character:
This is open after Kaitlyn has posted with Katia.

Anyone who knows the pair or the extended families is allowed to join in the reception celebrations for Aonghas and Katia's wedding. Anyone who was invited by Liusaidh is welcome to join. If you're unsure about if your character could attend just give me a poke and we can figure it out.

Katia Hensel, a woman who was not going to be changing her last name until later, sat down next to her husband. She smiled warmly at him, and remembered their agreement. They arranged it themselves years ago, and they actually managed to succeed. She even grew to love him. Katia just hoped that Aonghas would not end up like her father. She sat at the table, slipping her hand in Aonghas' since a crowd generally made her uncomfortable. Because of her future title, the entire family showed up. The entire family. They came in from all over, from Russia, Bulgaria, United Kingdom and of course, New Zealand. Even the Head of her father's family and his group arrived. It was easy to see them, since the Hensel/Matthias family all had golden eyes. And the kids that were running around, Merlin, the kids. The Zhefarovich children were, for the most part, behaved almost like soldiers. In a way, they were.

Aonghas asked if they were going to need another rounds, before nodding, "Yes, please." Katia averted her eyes from him as she looked toward her mother. She seemed to be happier than she had ever been. She got to see her daughter married into a pureblood family, and arranged it all on her own. Kamaria had some issues with it, but seemed like she was, ultimately, fine with it. "Aonghas, we are not having kids for a long time, got it?" Katia wanted to get that through his head. They both left the useless school so they could get started on their future. Anything that the school had, it was not going to affect her. She had a solid position in the family, as well as the family's massive company.

OOCOut of Character:
All those with the Zhefarovich family, or married in, are free to post. Those near the front are those with titles, which can be found in Asparuh's biography in post #8. This also means that Professor Styx, both Kalif and Jacqueline, are with the bride and groom.

Liusaidh had perhaps lost count a little of how many people she’d invited but she didn’t really care, she could spot them about the place and was quite content to be kept busy at such an event with lots of people. She’d done as she’d promised to Natalia and gotten her entire family invited to the wedding which hadn’t been hard, her father had jumped at the opportunity for a connection with other purebloods. Liusaidh didn’t mind seeing her there too really, she was a pureblood and therefore a little more worthy than some of the rest of the people she’d invited but it didn’t matter. She was messing around, had Fraser with her, dragging the little boy behind her as they went around annoying people. The little boy just seemed to be in love with the magic, the flowers that bloomed when you dropped them, the occasional magic in places and LOVED when liusaidh set off some confetti bombs, so of course that was exactly what she was looking for currently, ”Come on Fraser, let’s find more bombs,” she told him happily in gaelic, dragging him so they’d find more.

Graeme hadn’t been sure whether he’d actually be invited to this wedding, but he had been getting closer to them and to Aonghas too whenever he saw him. He knew it was because of Fraser, but he was somewhat pleased. The timid boy he’d been presented with was growing heaps and bounds. He loved quidditch already and did spend most of his time with the Pride of Portree or the Scotland team, so the young boy’s love of quidditch had been not surprising. He was happy to be connecting a little more with his family, so that Fraser had more family, so that he had more people for him to interact with. Cousins to play with. And it was useful when Graeme needed to do something without him to have a place he could leave him. Never for too long, but just enough. He just hadn’t been sure if this would entitle him to an invitation to his half brother’s wedding. But it had, both him and Fraser. Aonghas had also politely allowed him to invite another plus one, but Graeme didn’t really have one. He had been surprised to get given the family kilt and had to admit he couldn’t get over how sweet his son looked in the little child’s kilt. It had been Rory reaching out about being invited that had prompted him to really accept partly to provide some support to him. The event itself was fine, going off without a hitch and he’d met Rory’s partner and thought she seemed nice. His son was loving all of it and thankfully hadn’t been too fussy during the service itself. He was now off somewhere with Liusaidh and he trusted the girl enough that she wouldn’t harm him. He was helping himself to a drink, leaving Rory where he was and venturing a little off.

Tilly was surprised to be invited to the wedding. She and Liusaidh were friends, she supposed, not best friends, but they got along well enough. Really, she hadn’t even known Liusaidh’s brother was getting married. Aonghas was a Hufflepuff, like her. But of course, she’d accepted the invitation, it would be fun, and at the very least she could keep Liusaidh company.

Her dad had planned on bringing Tilly to the wedding, but when he’d found out that Olivia and Lydia were attending as well, he’d asked them to escort her. She’d spent the morning prior getting ready with her cousins, and it was kind of fun. Olivia had curled her hair and even worked some flowers into it. Lydia, on the other hand, showed her how to apply makeup. Tilly had never worn makeup before. It was weird, but she had to admit that the makeup, along with her new dress, made her feel pretty, something she rarely felt in her oversized body.

Tilly was awed by the blooming flowers and the confetti bombs. The ceremony itself was kind of boring, but now that things had become more celebratory, she was enjoying just watching people have fun. Liusaidh was playing with her little brother. She found herself standing off to the side with her peers, others Liusaidh had invited, but Tilly didn’t know them that well. She sipped at her glass of punch and simply existed.

Lydia had to admit, she hadn’t thought things through when she’d invited Misha to accompany her to this “mandatory” family event. She’d managed to keep private from the school that she was related to Kalif Styx, even more so that he was her paternal grandfather. Having a different surname was helpful. But she supposed at this point that she’d proved herself by now, that she couldn’t be accused of doing well in her position because of Kalif’s influence.

When she realized the wedding was between two kids, barely legal, and probably some of Misha and Kalif’s former students, she felt even more uncomfortable. Being raised by a widowed single mother wasn’t sunshine and daisies, but it had scared her from doing the same, married and having kids too young. She wished the new couple well. Lydia found herself gravitating near Misha and her siblings, since in reality, she wasn’t acquainted with most of the Styx/Zhefarovich clan. She had worried about wearing black to a wedding, but it was the warmest dress she had, and when she arrived, it seemed to be the theme color for her father's side of the family, so she relaxed a little.

Trying not to be overly awkward, she turned to Misha. “Do you want a drink? I hear the bar’s open.”

@Professor Misha Haden

It had been a surprise to receive the invitation - a little sooner than he might’ve expected - but mostly Rory was surprised the family wanted him there. He had believed it was probably mostly Aonghas’ doing. He hadn’t really left things well with him and perhaps this was the way to start making that better. Really it pained him to hear about his family from Graeme and Fraser and know he wasn’t a part of it. He had made his choice and he was doing well, he was good at quidditch that was going very well. He had Therese and she was wonderful, and though he still took the odd shift at the medley it wasn’t really for the money any more. He didn’t need it anymore. He knew he’d never have the wealth or security that he would’ve had in his family, but he would be happy with a modest life. He knew what Aonghas was having to do, having to give up for this. He hoped he was happy. But it had taken a great deal of convincing to be able to muster the courage to go, and really he’d been holding Therese’s hand tightly, just about since the moment they arrived.

But he sat with Graeme and Fraser and spotted people he knew and didn’t know. His brother, his sisters, his parents. His cousins who greeted him with surprising warmth. His parents didn’t really look at him, but everyone else was friendly enough. He had sat through the ceremony and couldn’t help but stare at his now no-longer-a-baby baby brother. Liusaidh too, from where he could spot her had grown up quite a bit, though her temperament had seemingly been unchanged. He was glad when things broke for the reception part, where things were easier, looser and better. He was able to drink and look over. He wanted to go greet Aonghas, but still felt a little nervous to approach him. He turned to Therese and gave her a weak smile, ”Thanks for coming to this with me,”
@Therese Rosenberg

Therese her heart made an jump after Rory had asked her to come along to his younger brothers wedding. The girl was so glad she and Rory were still friends after their break-up and she was not an pureblood, so was wondering how his family would look at her going along with Rory. She just knew she felt again for him and they were finally together again. It had been hard after breaking up with Leif, she hated seeing him hurt and hoped they could be friends again some day. But now she just knew she and Rory were ment for eachother, and she hoped his family could accept her if they ever would reach out again. And otherwise Rory was very welcome at their home. She hold Rory's hand and smiled at him happily. She had met the older brother of Rory and he seemed very friendly and his child was cute as well. She could watch Rory looking around, it would be hard for him after he had broken an bit with his family. And she wished she could help him and support him to reach out to his brother. '' Ofcourse. Thank you for asking me.'' She than said sweet and touched his hand for an moment and smiled at him. She felt for him and tried to spot his family somewhere around. She also spotted Lauren suprisingly, her cousin was here? She stood alone. But than figured she and Aonghas were from the same age. Than looking at Rory again. '' Do you want to see your brother?'' Therese than asked him. Perhaps this was an way of connecting again. He was invited after all. '' I'm here for you. We can do anything you want.. '' The swedish girl than asked her boyfriend. '' We can also just have a lot of drinks and make our own fun.'' She than said and gave him an kiss on his cheek. But she didn't figured that would be the best plan if she ever wanted to meet Rory's family again. The question was if she ever wanted, but Therese gave everyone an chance.

When Olivia was told she was required to attend the wedding of some cousin she’d never met, she told her father’s family to pound sand. She’d been born a Styx, but raised a Drage. Fiercely independent all her life, even from her mother, she lived by her own rules. In fact, she and @Slade Drage had secretly been working out ways to break every single one of the family rules. It was a good joke between them. Some rules she’d broken before ever knowing they’d existed. Associating with Muggles was easy enough, given her mother’s family. However, some of the rules were more difficult to break than others. She couldn’t exactly refuse an arranged marriage without being arranged to marry in the first place. She didn’t want to murder another family member, even her uncle Hades. And dating a werewolf just for their monthly affliction would be rude.

Then her uncle Chavdar had come to reason with her. He’d emotionally manipulated her into agreeing to go. Nicolette would want her there, as would Kailie. Didn’t she want to get to know her family more? When approached from that angle, Olivia was slightly more agreeable. And then she supposed she needed to chaperone Tilly, and keep an eye on her siblings.

At the last minute, she’d decided to invite Ernie. She hoped it wasn’t too forward of her. To her surprise, he’d accepted. She’d suggested he come to the reception, since no one wanted to sit through a boring wedding ceremony for someone they didn’t even know. Olivia certainly didn’t want to, why would she subject Ernie to it as well?

As she waited for her date, she hung by Lydia and Misha, one of her sister’s colleagues. Olivia was more than happy to hear the words ‘open bar.’ They would need it. She had to admit, the trick with the blooming flowers was amazing.

Bonnie was pleased she was having to do less in the family, with Aonghas back, having dropped out she’d have less responsibility and boy was Bonnie looking forward to that. She did think he should finish school properly, actually get his NEWTs and hold off, but it seemed he was pretty set on what he wanted and she didn’t want to interfere, she knew things were better if one just did them. Bonnie was always in the mood for a wedding and she’d been excited to come to this. She'd been reconnecting with Jon and had on a whim invited him with her to this. It was a little awkward but she was still rather glad that she had. At least she wasn't alone at this. Bonnie was vaguely watching as the festivities were now in full swing. She handed Jon his usual drink, something she hadn't ever forgotten, "cheers," she said, "Here's to an open bar," she was vaguely keeping an eye on the youngest of the two Fergussons as she stood with Jon. "Hows Marie getting along at school?" Bonnie asked after lightly sipping her drink.

Fraser loved Uncle Aonghas, he didn’t really know what they were doing, but he was enjoying running around with auntie Liusaidh. He’d been with his dad on some uncomfortable chairs listening to people speak. He’d promptly moved on to his dad’s lap and had been poking and making faces at uncle rory. There were so many things to look at, so many pretty flowers and he loved when there was colour in air. His hand was in Liusaidh’s and he was being a little dragged through the crowd. Didn’t she see all of the cool things he was trying to see?! ”More colour booms?!” Fraser replied in excited, high pitched gaelic. He giggled happily, so eager to follow his auntie to where he could see more colours, ”Can I set one off? Pretty please Liusaidh!”

Natalia was still pretty thrilled to have been invited to this wedding, it was about the only thing she had accomplished in her first year. With her parents and sister in tow, they arrived at the reception and Natalia and Isadora were instantly encouraged to seek out the other children to socialize while the adults talked. The girl nodded and walked around a bit, looking for Liusaidh. But when she did spot the girl, she saw she was busy with a young boy doing something that seemed fairly rowdy, something her parents would not approve of. Uncertain of what to do now, Natalia drifted towards the only other young person she saw there. She recognized the girl from Hogwarts, aware she was on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. Natalia had never paid her much attention, but that had been because she had never thought the girl was anyone special. Now it seemed she was, at least a bit, if she was at this wedding. "Hello," Natalia said, hesitating before extending her hand in a slightly awkward formal gesture. "I don't believe we've met, I'm Natalia Novak."

Tilly brightened when a younger girl approached her. She thought she’d seen her around the school, but was fairly certain they didn’t share a year. The girl must be one of Liusaidh’s friends. Still holding her punch, Tilly reached out with the left hand, before realizing she should extend the right hand instead. Her manners training- not that you could really call it that- had been glaringly brief. She swapped the glass to her left hand and shook Natalia’s hand with the right, blushing a little.

“Hi, Natalia,” she said warmly, “Tilly Drage.” She shifted, unsure of what else to say, or what the polite thing was to do. “Uhm- you’re in Slytherin?”

@Natalia Novak

Isadora didn't want to go to this stupid wedding and wished her parents had left her home with the nanny. At least then she could do fun things, like skate on her socks on the hardwood floors of their house. Or jump on all the beds. But no, she had to wear a stupid dress and be at this stupid wedding of stupid people she didn't know. And she knew why, it was because these stupid people were important and her parents wanted them to like them. She'd gotten a stern talking to about behaving properly before they had headed over, something her sister hadn't received. Isadora was glad to leave her parents' side the moment they were distracted, though she wasn't sticking around with her stupid sister either. She went over to the only two kids who seemed to be having fun, recognizing the older girl as the one that had invited Natalia. But she seemed way too fun to be her sister's friend. "What are those?" She asked curiously. "Can I try one next?"

@Liusaidh Fergusson @Fraser Fergusson

Natalia was glad the girl shook her hand and didn't laugh at her, that was at least something. She nodded when the girl introduced herself, turning the name over in her mind. A slight frown appeared on her face. "Are you by any chance related to Professor Drage?" Natalia asked, trying to keep her disapproval of that professor out of her voice and expression. She hadn't forgotten how she had talked about purebloods in one of her lessons, it had really made her angry. But she had to restrain herself. At the same time, she knew the Drage name was fairly prominent. Perhaps the girl was pureblood like herself, so she had to be careful. "Yes, I am in Slytherin." She said with a slight nod, taking a drink herself. "You are on the Hufflepuff team, correct?"

@Tilly Drage

It had been quite the surprised for Misha to get properly dressed up for a wedding and then have it be students he had taught who were getting married. More so that he was learning the Professor Lydia Drage was related to Professor Kalif Styx and his much wider family. Misha had to hide some glee when he was sure that Kalif had spotted him and of course he'd excitedly waved at the older man, but there hadn't been much time, students were getting married. When proceedings ended he looked towards Lydia as she said there was an open bar and nodded, "Very much so," he told her. "When you invited me to this, I wasn't really expected to see like the whole Styx clan there. You pitched this to me as boring, but I can see Styx and we just watched two barely adults get married..." he was smiling and had a light tone. He waved at Lydia's sister but kept his attention on her and the drink she was getting him.

Tilly nodded at the question; she’d answered it so many times for other students that it had stopped bothering her. “Yeah, she’s my cousin. Her mum was my aunt.” It was weird talking about her aunt Estrella in the past tense, but she’d been dead for going on three years now. She smiled when she noticed something in Natalia’s expression, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. “Don’t worry, she’s always been kind of prickly,” Tilly said encouragingly. She sipped at her punch. “Mhm. Beater. Do you like Quidditch?”

@Natalia Novak

Aonghas gave his wife a smile and nodded. He couldn't help the light laugh at the statement, "What all these kids scaryin' ye a little?" Aonghas teased lightly, but the amount of kids and the barely controlled chaos would likely put a whole lot of people off. He spotted Rory and wondered if it was time to go over to him. "Listen, I'm maybe gonna start with ma brother, Rory, ye know," he said, he'd told Katia about what had happened between them, and he had been perhaps avoiding it a little until he could see him alone with a woman that Aonghas had known from quidditch. "Do you wanna come meet him, or go your own way?" he wouldn't mind if she didn't, after all they had their whole lives to meet and interact with family.
@Katia Hensel

Lydia distinctly remembered that Misha had a penchant for vodka. She returned from the bar with a vodka gimlet for him, and a virgin cosmo for herself. At least Misha seemed to be enjoying himself. Lydia had absolutely no idea of the history between Misha and Kalif, or the fact that they were best friends. “Glad it’s not boring for you, Misha,” she said, grinning, “thanks for tagging along with me.” She tipped back her drink. “I actually don’t know 98 percent of the people here, so it’s nice to have company.”

@Professor Misha Haden

Ernie hadn’t spared a second thought before agreeing to go to a random wedding with Olivia. He would do nearly anything if it meant he could spend more time with her. What she saw in him, he couldn’t be sure but he wasn’t about to question it. He didn’t know much about her family but he knew she wasn’t close with most of the people here today. But it wasn’t until the ceremony started that he noticed how young the couple was, and when he overheard someone’s comment about bloodlines, he started to realize this might not be a totally normal wedding after all. Ernie wasn’t sure if he had even met a pureblood before, let alone attend one of their weddings. He was invited but he still felt out of place. He straightened his posture and wished he had worn better pants.

When they finally arrived at the reception Ernie pulled at his collar and loosened his tie slightly. Was it warm in here or was it just him? “Wow, what...a beautiful wedding.” he said as he joined Olivia, just as a confetti bomb went off making him jump. He straightened his jacket and leaned towards his date. “So how many of these people are you related to again?” he asked quietly. @Olivia Drage

Katia cast her husband a small glare when he commented on how the kids might be scaring her. Of course they were. She shrugged, trying to play it off, "Of course not. I just think we need some time for ourselves before even considering children." Katia knew that she was lying a little, but what she was saying was true too. Katia wanted some time with him alone, for a while, before having children. She was glad that this arrangement was not sealed at birth, otherwise, they would have to start trying now. Right, as future head, she could put a stop to that law. Or at least, extend it. Things were not as they were in the 1900s where women died in their 40s. Katia looked over at Aonghas as he mentioned that he was going to go off with his brother, and offered if she wanted to join. She shook her head, before standing up. "I think I want to go see my mom and my brother. This reception will likely last all day, so we have time to rendezvous later." Katia gave him a small peck on the cheek, using her thumb to wipe away some of the gloss she was wearing. Katia walked over to Corvus and Kamaria, to talk to them.

Being married to Havoc had always been a good decision in Dove's mind, it hadn't perhaps been something she'd wanted to do when they'd first met, but they were several years down the line with a son who needed to be involved in his family and the plans to eventually have more. They'd been trying for a little bit, but hadn't had much success yet. But regardless of that, the family gatherings and the big family weddings were not something she would ever get used to, and this was a big affair, from both families she could see so many people were there. She thought they might have to introduce themselves to the new family joining partly with Havoc's wider clan but Dove would let Havoc make that choice. She remained close to him throughout, acting as the perfect wife on his arm as she was supposed to. She had a glass of water in her hand rather than any of the alcohol, and she could spot their son about with some of the other kids, she was certainly pleased they had raised him to be more polite and less...chaotic than some of these other kids. She stole glances over at the bride, marvelling one at her beauty but mostly remained focused on watching her son. "My love, shall I get you another drink?" she asked with a soft tone.
@Havoc Zhefarovich

Cyzarine hadn't been to surprised with Mihail having to come to this wedding, it was a big family thing, but she'd been really excited to help him and his burgening company with the catering. It meant sort of wearing two hats in this position but she was rather happy to too. She knew when she finished her NEWTs and was done with school she would come work with him, so she was just happy to help out now and get a bit of a feel of it. The gryffindor hadn't realised until she'd gotten to the venue exactly who it was who was getting married and she thought it was a little weird to see people her age get married, but she knew that Mihail had a complicated family and didn't want to make any assumptions about it. Things were now however in full swing and she could see that there was a lot that Mihail was dealing with, "You want me to take over while you take a quick five or ten? Things seem under control for now,"
@Mihail Styx

Zared didn't mind attending the family events with his wife, they had been married for a good while now, and this was just part of what they had to do. He hadn't minded the ceremony, the pair getting married were smart do it young, he and Elysia had too. It had been nice and it was nice to have been married for so long. He had leaned in to his wife and told her very quietly she had been a more beautiful wife, but it was a nice enough ceremony. They were just mingling, just spending a little time meeting different family members. He was however growing a little tired but he'd stay as long as they needed to.
@Elysia Katsaros-Styx

Liusaidh nodded, "Of course Fraser!" she told him, but she spotted Tilly, looking rather bored, which she didn't think was that good, there was plenty to do. Soon Liusaidh found one of the confetti bombs and handed it to Fraser just as another little girl joined them. She knew from her parents and from Natalia that this girl was her sister. Younger than both of them, but for sure way older than little Fraser. "They're confetti bombs and aye course!" Liusaidh told her grabbing another one and passing it to her. "Right, Fraser ye gonna show the lassie how tae set them off," she encouraged the young boy who seemed very eager to try it.
