Ah, May, where both love and spring are in the air...well, the former is, here in the southern hemisphere we're heading into winter...regardless, it's the return of a classic!
INTRODUCTION
First organised by Alexis back in the day and then ran by the lovely Steven and Daphne (and Rowan sometimes), and more recently Kris and Kadi, the Flower Delivery Service is an In Character event which this year is being run IC by Aine Thompson and Marnie Frogg. That's right, you can claim the prefects have bullied the Wild Patch Club into it (no, they're lovely people and kindly assisting with rose provision!)
You can choose from three different coloured flowers to send to other characters (red, pink, or yellow) along with a note for the recipient if you so desire. On IC Valentine's day, these roses will be delivered to their recipients by volunteer deliverers.
Keep in mind, while a Valentine's event at heart, this event is also about giving your chars a chance to RP and interact with characters they might never have met (and maybe stir up a little drama
). It's a great time and we encourage everyone to enjoy the chance for new or different RP's!HOW IT WORKS - SENDING ROSES
Rose giving consists of two parts. The first is picking and sending roses to other characters. Please note roses are all delivered by your fellow RPers so try to be considerate of the amount you are sending. In that vein, we are placing a limit of around 5-6 roses to be sent per character you RP. We hope that will allow everyone enough room to send what they want without overloading delivery volunteers.
Additionally, please only include a written note with your roses, for ease of RP, deliveries cannot include physical gifts.
With those restrictions in mind, how do you send a rose?
First, pick your rose colour. You can pick any of the three colours mentioned above, though typically HNZ associates the following with each colour:
Red - Love
Pink - Crush/Admiration
Yellow - Friendship
Once you've settled on your roses and recipients, please send a PM to Aine Thompson (Camilla). You can use following the format below if you like:
Please don't forget to specify the colour of the rose(s) being sent! You can include multiple roses per PM but please separate them clearly, such as using spoilers, so we can tell which is which - please make sure you make the characters as clear as possible as well! If you plan to send additional roses after your first PM, please keep them in the same thread for the sake of my inbox and my sanity.
We are accepting Rose submissions starting today, May 1st, and closing 11:59PM AEST (GMT +10) on May 14th.

HOW IT WORKS - DELIVERIES
Now for the second half of Rose Giving, our lovely deliverers! Each year for roses, the organisers enlist the help of a team of student volunteers to share the Valentine's love. What this means OOC is you can sign up your characters to start a series of threads to deliver a collection of assigned roses. We encourage you to sign up for deliveries if you can, as it is half the fun, but it is not required to take part if you want to send roses.
However, please do not sign up if you do not think you will have the ability to post your rose RP's and stay active. If you do sign up and are unable to post for any reason, please do let us know. Additionally, please do not sign up if you intend to have your character refuse to deliver or RP with any specific characters.
Sign ups will close 11:59PM AEST on May 14th and Roses will be assigned and ready to post by May 17th.
A directory of all rose threads will be posted once assignments are out so everyone can keep track of deliveries and enjoy the fun. Please note, all rose threads must be started by May 31st at the absolute latest.
