Y38 Hufflepuff Practice

René tried to say steady as he moved back towards the goal, trying to hold the quaffle under his arm like his brother had shown him to make it easier to steer.

Connor flew wide, taking a moment to survey the positions of the players and balls before picking a bludger he wanted to go for and flying towards it.

Elliot tried to stay aware of the game around him even as he did a quick check of the rest of the players. The last thing he wanted was to take a bludger or even miss the snitch because he was distracted.

René was so focused on holding onto the quaffle this time and getting to the hoops he didn't even consider passing it might be a good idea. As soon as he was close enough, he threw the quaffle, more wary of the other chasers than of their keeper. Not that it mattered as much in the end, as his shot flew well wide of the hoops. "Oops, sorry."

Hunter stood back a little and watched Rene play, he seemed a bit insecure in his game still but it was his first year both in school and in quidditch so it was understandable. The boy failed the hoop when he threw the quaffle which made Hunter a bit sad but it was okay. "Don't worry, during my first practice I couldn't even score once but I scored in the game, that's what matters" he said trying to give the other boy some confidence.

Linden hovered at the hoops watching the chasers lap the pitch. He was glad that he didn’t have to fly that much. He waited as the chasers came towards him. Unlike try ours he was actually trying hard to save the hoops. As the youngest chasers approached him he waited for the boy to throw the ball went wide and Lin went to catch it before it fell too far. He then rose to hoop level before passing it to one of the different chasers.

Lillith caught the quaffle throne into play and headed off into another lap around the pitch.

Connor shot towards a bludger and swung hard, dismayed when his shot flew harmlessly past any of his teammates, hitting noone.

Elliot smiled when he heard Hunter encouraging René. This was exactly how he'd been hoping the team would work together.

René nodded when Hunter spoke, trying to take his words to heart before pulling back to follow after Lillith when Linden threw the quaffle back in. He could already feel himself slowing down a bit, arms and legs sore from flying.

Tilly smacked a bludger away from the other players. She would need to switch back to offense soon, but it was nice to make her victims teammates feel protected for a few minutes.

After his shot missed Connor flew higher, trying to figure out the best angle to get a hit in before going for another bludger.

Tilly flew around the pitch and fended off bludgers that were headed towards the Hufflepuff team- for now.

The beaters were doing a good job keeping the bludgers at bay and Elliot felt better lowering his guard so he could really focus on the snitch.

Jordie had been watching the game more than playing, wanting to get a read on everyone a bit before tossing himself into the game. He knew he tended to focus. He cracked his neck, jumping in and zooming up to Lillith, keeping closer now that he had a better read on how she liked to play.

Connor flew ahead and swung for a bludger, but his angle was off and he watched the ball soar harmlessly past Elliot.

Seeing him nearby, Lillith passed the quaffle to Jordie and lagged back a bit, switching to defense but still sticking close enough just in case.

Tilly cracked a bludger, watching as it sailed across the pitch. It hit no one.

Jordie smiled at Lillith, easily catching her pass and pushing forward towards the hoops.

Lillith followed suit of Jordie. She remembered getting hit by a bludger the first time and decided that probably following him around would prevent bludger hits.

Jordie had just moved to make his throw when the bludger slammed into him. The quaffle fell short as Jordie spun out a little, clutching his side. He hissed in a breath. He looked up to see Tilly. He frowned, pouting. "You owe me cuddles for that shot, Drage!" he yelled at his sister, sticking his tongue out at her. @Tilly Drage

Lucas smiled at Elliot's words and nodded, but still felt a little miserable about being unable to find the snitch. It was then that he saw a golden glint, and without another word he zoomed away from Elliot to chase it. He managed to grab the snitch and laughed as he held it up.

Lillith quickly dived for the quaffle that fell and caught it, sending it back towards Jordie. “Here Jordie!” She grinned, adamant that all of the new players got their chance to try and shoot. “Have another go!”It was too bad that her attempts at trying to protect the boy failed, but that didn’t matter too much.

@Jordan Harris

Tilly flushed with embarrassment when Jordie threatened her with cuddles. If she knocked him off his broom, maybe that would deter him. People were going to think they were a thing. Grinning wickedly back at Jordie, she zoomed away, in pursuit of another bludger.
