I once told myself I'd never have more than 8 current students. That didn't work out. But without further ado, here is my lineup:

Lucy Montague 7th Year, Ravenclaw​	Lucy is a musical and studious girl who loves the outdoors (in particular, hiking and walks). Her girlfriend is off in the real world and she’s a bit sad about that. She enjoys making new friends and spends a lot of her time honing her skills on the violin these days. She’s been a disappointment to her parents but she’s trying to make peace with that. Quidditch co-captain and CAC leader, she takes her responsibilites in that regard seriously. Looking for: threads with friends, quidditch drama, new friends, students to help out.
He’s had a rough past six months, burning out and trying to scramble to get his grades back on track. In his mind, he’s fallen from grace. His girlfriend also broke up with him so he has it rough. Usually studious and a big fan of acting, especially Shakespeare, Kyousuke is probably not the best of company. He’s also had a glow-up, which might affect how people see him. Looking for: new friends, old friends, potentially a rebound from his past relationship, an enemy (getting off on the wrong foot and Kyousuke being unpleasant), him actually catching student(s) up to no good and deducting house points. Aroha Blenheim 6th Year, Gryffindor​	Known for her skills at duelling and her seeker status on the Gryffindor quidditch team, Aroha is a bold and adventure-seeking girl who just wants to have a good time. She’s deeply invested in her family (Hēmi, see below) and honestly just loves quidditch heaps. Outgoing and open to learning about people from different walks of life. Secretly wants to be move than just seeker, but simultaneously loves the glory from the games. Looking for: new friends, old friends, dangerous or fun adventures. Aroha thrives on excitement more than anything.
A book-lover, she’s recently become less interested in plants and more interested in reading and writing. She’s starting to take her studies a little more seriously now she’s in fifth year. Bubbly and kind, Rosalind makes a pleasant if somewhat excitable friend. Looking for: new friends, old friends, someone for her to annoy with her over enthusiasm, others who are interested in writing, potentially love interests (I’m open to people having a crush on her and her being oblivious, her having a crush and the person being oblivious - something along those lines). Kanako Kurosawa 4th Year, Slytherin​	My sweet, unpleasant girl. She’s a bit sick of Hogwarts and just wants to bake. She’s slowly learning that being mean isn’t necessarily a good payoff for making friends, but she also is rather tone deaf in social situations that don’t involve her pretending. Looking for: friends (please, she needs someone for a plot I’m planning involving one of her parents), enemies/rivals/frenemies. Not currently interested in romance for her.
A sweet, kind boy who is actually a little judgmental. He’s been neglected so friends are greatly appreciated. He loves musicals and Māori culture - isn’t that interested in magic at all and is honestly not sure why he’s even at Hogwarts. He’s a bit of a misfit, and although he isn’t driven to fit in, he secretly desires it. Looking for: friends, please.	Hēmi Blenheim 3rd Year, Hufflepuff​
Jun Nakamura 2nd Year, Ravenclaw​	Loves to paint and draw and anything visual art, Jun is a quiet yet polite kid who thinks through things a lot. He makes a thoughtful sort of friend, and it’s honestly difficult to get on his bad side, or to even get him to show his bad side (which he definitely has). Is that a challenge? You decide. Also son of Professor Nakamura. Looking for: friends, art pals, someone to really drive him up the wall tbh.
In her frog phase, Ivara cares deeply about standing up for others but will hesitate to do so for herself. Sorry, I should elaborate on the frog thing. She loves frogs and has a tree frog called Roger who she takes with her everywhere she can. Eccentric but well-meaning, she can lose her temper pretty readily. Looking for: friends, rivals/frenemies.	Ivara Caldwell 2nd Year, Gryffindor​

Natsuko Hirano 1st Year, Unsorted​

My firstie this year! She’s obsessed with witches and wizards and everything magic - and that was before she found out she was a witch. A muggleborn, she is very pleased and happy to be here. Loves to be the centre of attention. Struggles occasionally with authority figures. A bright, bubbly friend for anyone who wants one - or a thorn in the side of any peace-loving individual. Looking for: friends, rivals, someone older who might act as a mentor (particularly if they’re muggleborn too but that's not a requirement).

I'm mostly wanting to focus on my new firstie, Amanita this year. It sounds like she and Natsuko might end up being roomies so maybe we can see if any plots come of that once they're sorted

I've also done.....nothing with my poor second year, Jono, who is ultimate kiwi farmboy and also a muggleborn so maybe we do something with him and I think Ivara could be a good fit. Or maybe even him and Natsuko?

EDIT: lol I forgot year changes just happened, I'm paying attention Jono's a third year now so we should definitely do something with him and Hemi since they're roommates.

I feel like Audrey was a bit (sort of) resentful about Teddy and Lucy both having happy relationships/withdrew a bit to work on her animagus training so they could probably use quality time

I am also happy to throw Ruth at Kanako for your plot! Ruth would like to think all the girls in that dorm are her friends anyway, haha. Peregrine is on a mission to befriend all the 3rd year puff boys so there's an option and my awful 5th year boy can secretly get a crush on Rosalind she's entirely oblivious to as almost a background thing if you want

Bad brain buddies! Yes, actually, I was thinking they could do something at the lake like they did in their first year. I don't know if you remember that thread, but I remember them speculating on what they'd be like in seventh year or something along those lines. So if that sounds good, I'm keen for that.

Hell yeah let's do Ruth and Kanako! And yes to the secret background crush, I'm keen for that. I might have Rosalind be living life like 'why don't any boys or girls like me?' while he does because that's amusing to me.

I’m sure he could assist in driving Jun up the wall if need be he’s kind of precious about ‘his part’ of the dorm (like probably one step away from drawing a rectangle around his bed in chalk) and especially precious about anyone touching his belongings, so maybe we could do something with that? Or if you have any other ideas or plans lmk :3 also down for them to be friends!!

i know you replied to my pd, but i had a couple of thoughts to offer to you if you'd like! for your first year, mentor-wise, i can offer my seventh year, marley! marley has an adopted muggle father, so she's pretty familiar with the muggle world and pretty much grew up in a mixture of both, with mainly the muggle world - so she'd understand what its like to enter unfamiliar territory. but if you're looking for someone closer to her age, i can also offer eloise as a mentor type to if you like! she has a parent that is a muggleborn so she too has an idea of the muggle world and what not! - they're both hufflepuffs as well so either of them will be in the same house as her

that's all i can think of at the moment but if i have any other thought's ill defiantely let u know hehe! feel free to decline this idea though if you'd like hehe!

Firstly Teddy and Lucy have been a pendulum of close then distant, then close again, ever since first year and need something for their final year. Maybe related to the Audrey fallout if Lucy wants to at all get involved with that. Maybe she's reluctantly put in the middle of it a bit.

Aroha and Teddy, Teddy could be kinda pushy on her because his Quidditch success literally relies on her catching the snitch in Every. Single. Game. Maybe annoy her a bit or motivate her. I'm not sure?

Huw and Heemi. Huw is is really into music and could learn to play some of his favourite musicals on the guitar for him if they become friends.

Amanita's really bossy and likes things her way so I'm curious how that could vibe or clash with Natsuko if she likes attention and/or is very interested in the whole witch business. On one hand, Ama could be thrilled to have a captive audience to explain things to, but on the other Natsuko might drive her up the wall haha

I know we had created some ideas for plots last year, and I totally dropped the ball on everyone, but I'm trying again this year to only do a few threads per student to keep it manageable.

For Hēmi, I have Charlotte, who is a fourth-year Hufflepuff, but she is very artistic and the daughter of a former professor, so it seems like they have a bit in common. Maybe they could work on an art project together?

And I believe we had already decided to try a thread with Frannie and Ivara regarding Ivara's frog interest. I'd be down to try making one again to see how the two get along? Frannie is in the same year.

Hi Claire!! Oo I'm kind of just curious to throw them in a dorm room situation and see what happens. I'm not sure if Jun would do anything intentionally to invade his space, but as you said, perhaps Jun ends up inadvertantly getting too close to the chalk line and we start from there?

Hi Verity! Ooo, yes they definitely need something in the final year. I can see Lucy getting caught awkwardly in the middle, somewhat intentionally, somewhat unintentionally. Maybe she's a little sneaky and tries to get closer to both of them just to push them back together again. That's an optional angle?

I think I'm going to go for Aroha and Teddy since it's his last year. I think it'd actually end up making Aroha annoyed and motivated. We could start that in quidditch practice and see what happens?

With Vanity as the Slytherin captain, maybe we can cook up some Quidditch drama? No clue if they have to play against each other yet, but I could see something brewing there, since they've disliked each other for a while. Could have Vanity spy on their practice or something, lol.

Logan really likes her, not sure if it'll be weird now his sister dumped her brother. Plus, he will probably be flirty, but they an be friends.

He's been a bit of a recluse for most of his time at school but I'm happy to have them be at least acquaintances at this point. For Kyousuke I have Elise, they've interacted before and probably hung out a bit while he was dating Hazel. Don't think she'd see him as a romantic option but it might be nice to see if they click as friends and maybe she could break the news Hazel is seeing someone else, for the mess of it all lol

For Rosalind I have Naveen who is still very into plants haha, but he's also getting more and more into cooking if she has any interest in that? He'd happy to be friends but I could see an awkward crush forming too. I'd say they haven't been that close before but they did kiss during spin the bottle so he might have been avoiding her since because she's Ivy's roommate who he's has had a failed romance with. I have offered his crush availability in a few spots but happy to do something with it regardless if it interests you.

For Kanako of course I have Sybil. I've really liked the thread they have together so far. Sybil is a bit of a social bulldozer and I think is able to break past most people's awkwardness with her own haha. Maybe we can follow up with her study group plan or do something completely different.

For Hēmi I have Doyle of course since they're roommates and all that. Would love for them to get closer or tag along with him and Jono since he's a muggleborn too. Not a farm kid but he'd apprecaite the "normal" conversation.

For Jun and Ivara I have January. I think I suggested somewhere before that she really likes astronomy so she might be curious about an astronomy professor's son even if he isn't that into the subject. She's also not much of an artist herself but she does appreciate art and would sit for a portrait if he asked. Also not sure what his opinion on divination is if they want something to maybe fight over (she loves it). As for her relationship with Ivara I could see them maybe getting off on the wrong foot. Maybe she's weirded out by the frog and they clash over it?

For Natsuko, as a mentor I could offer Doyle. He's very approachable and would be happy to help her out since he was also very confused when starting school, and still is honestly. And of course my firstie, Ulric since they're in the same house too. I can see her being a bit of a thron in his side as he tries to study and she is constantly pestering him with questions or something.

So many good options! It was tricky to cut them down. Here are my thoughts:

Love to do something with Oskar and Lucy. I think they would be acquaintances just on the sheer fact that Lucy likes knowing people. Keen to do something at the lake like you suggested and have a thoughtful kind of conversation.

Oh I am so on board with Elise breaking the news that she's seen Hazel with someone else so yes to this too. Also I'd just like Kyousuke to have a friend because his closest one was Hazel and that's up in smoke at the moment for obvious reasons.

Kind of here for the drama of a potential Rosalind and Naveen, but I'm thinking have it background until around Yule Ball? But I figured pacing this towards the end of the semester means it's a bit less on us in terms of threads because yes I am also going to say yes to

Kanako and Sybil! I'm enjoying their thread too and the study group sounds like a fun plot plan tbh. That's another one we could potentially either put off until closer to exam time and just keep going with the one that's technically last year for a bit?

This one's optional because I know that's basically four threads all up, so this would be five for you. One of us could double-check with Kris but it should be fine if Doyle joins the conversation with Jono and Hēmi. But I'll leave that up to you to decide because I don't want to put too much on your plate (more than I already have lol).
