Open The Stands

Nicole had a lot on her mind since Valentine's and she was glad for the distraction of today's quidditch match. She loved watching Slytherin play (or more precisely watching Slytherin win), though she couldn't help wonder if Ajax would be up in the stands again either for the yearbook or just to cheer on Ravenclaw.

She'd brought along Ryan with her again just in case, though she considered making him sit somewhere else when she saw Adorah nearby. Or maybe Ryan knew her since she was a prefect in his house. The head boy joined Adorah before Nicole could make up her mind though and she quickly found a seat elsewhere, too nervous to want to join her now and not wanting to miss the start of the match.

Ryan still didn't find Quidditch all that interesting, but he didn't have much else to do today, and sometimes Nicole was fun to be around. Especially when she had something to focus on that wasn't whatever Ryan's hair doing or how his sweater was on backwards. Plus, he knew it'd be nice to show some support for Finn, considering he'd spent the time to draw him something for Valentine's and everything.

Just as soon as the game had started, it was over. Tilly shouted and swore, but her voice was swallowed up by the roar in the stands. She was happy that Blake Irons was graduating next year. Once he was gone, maybe the other house teams would have a fighting chance. But this also meant Hufflepuff wasn't in third place anymore. Sighing, Tilly folded up the bronze and blue scarf and stood up to leave the stands.

Adorah smiled as Elliot approached her, glad her friend was a reliable quidditch buddy for these things. "Yeah, hopefully she-OH!" Adorah squealed as she saw her sister not one but two Slytherins. "I am really glad I don't play opposite Juniper. Who are you rooting for today?" she asked curiously, knowing that it was always a coin toss when your house wasn't playing. @Elliot Briar

Elliot watched as the game got underway, unsurprised to see Jasper managed a goal almost immediately. He laughed at Adorah's comment about Juniper, nodding. "Yeah she's kinda scary, your sister," he said knowingly. Elliot was mulling over his answer to Adorah's question as he watched the game for a minute, using the action as an excuse to think. He wanted his own team to do well, but his lingering annoyance at Blake and his winning streak still felt raw even with Elliot's own Quidditch career officially over. "Well-" He started, pausing when he saw Blake suddenly surge forward. "Oh no..." Elliot sighed as Blake held the snitch up, giving Adorah a weak shrug. "Guess it doesn't matter now. Though I'm selfishly a little pleased that Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw both managed second now," he admitted once the ensuing clamor had calmed down and the match was officially called. @Adorah Zumwalt

Jenna always was here and looked the game. It was realy fun and she never missed it. She hoped seen her friends to and it will be fun.

Kiara was absolutely disappointed that Slytherin will have to play against Ilvermony instead of Beauxbatons. She did want to see them in the game, but she would always prefer that Beaux came there. She could have jumped there to them, catch up with other people and instead of that, she just had to simply watch the game. At least she didn't have a trouble to decide which team she was supporting. However, she was still excited to see the game, even if she was a bit disappointed in the playing team.

Yvonne couldn't pass up going to the particular game. She knew she should be cheering for Hogwarts now that they were her employer but she watched the Ilvermorny team fondly. She loved an underdog story and figured Slytherin had won enough games this year. They didn't have a quidditch team when she was at school and she thought it was quite exciting to see how things had changed.

Angel admittedly didn't care all that much for Quidditch. It wasn't quite as exciting as Quadpot in his opinion and Angel's own school experience had been probably about as boring as he found Quidditch, but he wasn't going to pass up a chance to cheer for Ilvermorny after hearing their team had made it into the finals this year. "Going to cheer for the old Alma Mater?" He asked Yvonne, spotting her out in the stands and sitting next to her. "Got any inside knowledge on the game outcome while we're at it?" Angel added, making a vague motion with his hand to indicate some sort of fortune-telling insight he was sure Yvonne could offer. @Professor Yvonne Dubois

Nicole was thrilled for another game today. Slytherin had had another spotless season, and she was sure with the cup under their belt, they'd continue the record. Quietly, she was a little sad to know the team would be losing Blake Irons after this year, unsure if the rest of the team could manage without him carrying them. But she just hoped it was an excuse for him to go all out today. Nicole was sure he'd become a professional player soon, and she'd get to brag to everyone that they'd gone to school together.

"Hey, Jenna!" She said, sitting down next to her friend, spotting Kiara as well. "Nice that we can all cheer for the same team now, right?" She said, squinting down at the field as the Amercans took to the pitch. They didn't seem quite as glamourous as the Beauxbatons team, though they did have a very pretty seeker, Nicole noticed. @Jenna Jusantrea @Kiara Wood

Salem knew it was a shame Gryffindor hadn't done very well in the house competition this year, but she supposed it was okay to cheer for Slytherin today since they were technically representing the whole school now. She didn't have many green clothes to wear, though she had grabbed a bit of grass to stick behind her ears before heading up into the stands, figuring it was better than nothing, even if a lot of it had already blown away by the time she was seated. "Woo, go Indi!" She called from the stands, spotting her friend taking the field. It was so cool Indi got to be on the team already and Salem was excited to get to cheer for her friend.

Sometimes Elliot wondered how different his life would have been if he'd gone to Ilvermorny instead of Hogwarts. Would he still have gotten on the school team? Would he have ended up playing against Blake no matter what? It was weird to think about, watching the Ilvermorny seeker down on the pitch as the players all got ready. Usually he tried to be subtle about cheering against Blake, especially when Hufflepuff wasn't playing, but Elliot felt like he had a good excuse to get away with it today. He did spot Professor Dubois and Castillo both in the stands and slunk into a seat near them anyway. It'd be more fun to cheer for the away team with some other supporters nearby.

Brooke was pretty pleased that Slytherin had cinched the house cup yet again. With any luck they'd also trounce the Americans playing today and solidify another year long winning streak. Not that Brooke would be a bad sport if they lost, but she much preferred cheering for the winning team. She had a Slytherin pennant out, even if technically she was cheering on Hogwarts today, finding a good spot in the stands so she'd have a decent view of the pitch. And if Rosenberg came around to complain again, she'd have advanced warning to get away.

Yvonne took in a deep breath as the referee blew the whistle and the game began. She finally let it out when she noticed Angel join her in the stands. “Hard not to. Apparently some school spirit still lingers.” she admitted with a grin. She raised an eyebrow as his question and let out a laugh before turning serious. “That would ruin the suspense.” she teased. She didn't have to read any cards or tea leaves to have a hunch about how today's game would go. But there was always room for a surprise. @Professor Angel Castillo

Angel nodded in bemused agreement, finding the same lingering support for Ilvermorny in him as well, despite his poor track record at school. He clapped loudly as Ilvermorny managed to grab the quaffle first, watching the chaser make their way to the hoops as the bludgers started flying. "That looked like it hurt," he said with a grimace as a few Slytherin's took hits, including Jasper whom he recognized from his classes. "Remind me why everyone finds this so fun?" @Professor Yvonne Dubois

Celia had refused to go to any of the Quidditch games this year on principle. She had wanted no part of school life here. But now that she was coming to terms with the fact that she would be stuck at Hogwarts for the next few years, she'd decided to make an appearance at the final game. Quidditch was popular here, and if she wanted to repair her reputation, learning about the sport wouldn't hurt. Plus, Ilvermorny was playing. After spending the past several months lobbying her parents to let her transfer, she was curious to see whether the school lived up to its prestigious reputation.

Wearing a neutral, all black outfit, Celia made her way up the stands. She'd chosen not to wear anything Hogwarts related, and she sure as hell wouldn't be donning the colors of the worst house in the school. The players kicked off, and it didn't take long before Ilvermorny nabbed the quaffle and landed a few bludger blows. "Wow, we suck," she muttered to the person next to her. Celia had heard all about Blake Irons's reputation, but at this rate, it looked like he would be knocked out before anyone even scored a goal. And he was supposed to be one of the best Quidditch players at Hogwarts. Celia sighed, wondering for the millionth time how she'd ended up at this school.

The game started off with quite a literal bang, and Elliot almost felt bad for Blake as he took two bludgers so early in the game. As much as he was sort of not really cheering for the other team, Elliot wasn't sure he wanted Slytherin to lose so much that Blake was taken out of the game. Especially since he knew this would be Blake, Jasper, and Mordred's last game ever.

He snorted when the younger girl near him commented, clearing his throat to cover up his amusement. Even cheering for the other school, he should probably be a good role model and all. "It's not the best start," he agreed carefully, glancing over as Jasper took the quaffle just before taking another bludger, hissing sympathetically. "Jasper's a pretty good shot though... Usually," he offered, uncertainly. @Celia Vuong

Celia was about to respond when she looked up and realized that she'd picked a seat next to the head boy. Even worse, she spotted the professor who'd caught her in the forest sitting nearby. Celia quickly angled her body away from the professor and stared intently at the pitch, pretending to be absorbed by the game. At least Elliot didn't seem upset by her comment.

"Hopefully he's better at scoring than dodging." She had to imagine that a bludger to your side made it a lot harder to aim accurately. Celia glanced back at Elliot, wondering if she should hold her tongue, before deciding she'd be fine. He was graduating at the end of the year. And he couldn't get her in trouble for not supporting Hogwarts enthusiastically enough. That would be ridiculous. "Besides, it doesn't matter. If Blake gets taken out, it's basically over. It's not like Jasper can score 160 points on his own."

@Elliot Briar

Yvonne couldn't help but wrinkle her nose and close her eyes every time someone got hit with a bludger. She knew all of them had signed up for this and had worked hard but it was impossible not to think of them as children and wince every time they got hurt. "I'm sure it does." she said grimly and then laughed at Angel's next question. "I wouldn't know." she said with a shrug. "But I suppose there's a satisfaction that comes with teamwork and winning." she offered before getting distracted by the I;vermorny chaser making a goal and letting out a small cheer. @Professor Angel Castillo

Elliot bite his lip in an attempt to not smile at the girl's comment about Jasper. It was weird to feel like he had to defend the Slytherin team somehow, and Elliot was still trying to make a neutral comment when Jasper missed his goal. "Yeah, I guess it's not really looking that great for them so far," he said, almost distractedly as he watched Ilvermorny take posession. Before, Elliot had been somewhat resigned to the idea that Slytherin would win, as they always did, but with the bludgers flying and the chasers player as they were, Elliot was starting think Ilvermorny might actually have a shot. "Oh wow, she made it past Mordred," Elliot said, a little excited as the Ilvermorny chaser made her goal. "You know, you might have a point," he said quietly to the girl. "Don't tell anyone, but I'm kinda cheering for the Americans anyway." It was probably a bad look for the the head boy to be cheering for the away team, but Elliot figured being half-American was a good enough excuse. @Celia Vuong

Salem slumped defeatedly in her seat when Indi missed her shot on goal. It would have been so cool to see her friend score, especially when the older Slytherin hadn't managed it. Ilvermorny's Keeper was certainly confident about it all too. "C'mon Indi!" She called, hoping the encouragement could be heard over the crowd.

Celia couldn't help but smirk when the Ilvermorny keeper mocked Jasper after he missed. "So much for being a good shot." She was now doubting whether the Slytherin could manage 10 points, let alone 160, before the game's end. Ilvermorny scored the first goal soon after, and Celia had to stop herself from cheering. She tried not to look too pleased when Elliot said she had a point, but she did sit up straighter. She was almost always right of course, but it was nice to hear someone else — especially the head boy — acknowledge it.

At Elliot's admission, Celia glanced at him in surprise. "Really? Why?" she asked curiously, wondering what had made the head boy turn against his own school. "I mean, I get it," she said, looking back towards the pitch. "Slytherin can't score, and they can barely fly." As if to prove her point, one of the Slytherin beaters took another hit from a bludger just seconds before a Slytherin chaser missed her shot. "I don't know why everyone keeps saying they're good. It's kind of embarrassing, getting beat on our home turf." Ilvermorny managed another goal, and Celia decided she would switch sides as well — not that she was ever fully on Hogwarts's side to begin with. In fact, part of her was pleased Hogwarts was doing so poorly as it proved once again she'd been right all along. The school was incredibly overrated.

Lars had been watching the match anxiously, growing more and more frustrated the longer it went on. Slytherin was slowly turning the match around, Jasper scored a few times, but Blake had been hurt a lot and Lars was hoping he would just catch the snitch already. He was barely paying attention to any other part of the match, his gaze following the tiny figure zooming around the pitch. So he noticed it immediately when he was hit by the final bludger, quicky closing his eyes in response. He knew how much this would hurt Blake, not just physically. Without paying attention to what was happening on the pitch, Lars got up and rushed to the exit of the stands, not caring that he had to push past some people rather rudely. He had to get to the Hospital Wing.

Elliot felt bad for smiling at the girl's comment as Jasper missed his shot, but he was quietly riding the high of the idea that Slytherin might actually lose a game for once. He shrugged a little when she asked why he was supporting Ilvermorny, deciding to go with the more neutral answer. "Most of my family went to Ilvermorny. Plus, I think Hogwarts has enough supporters today, only seems fair," he said, motioning to the crowd around them. "You don't seem overly possessed with school spirit either," he added, though his voice was free of any real judgement.

He bite his lip to hold back a smile again as she continued to rag on Slytherin team, shrugging again. "Still early, could be anyone's game." He didn't want to bring up how all the other school teams had lost painfully to Slytherin this year after all that, but he had to admit they weren't playing so great compared to the Americans today.

When Blake took another bludger, Elliot could tell he was seriously hurt this time, glancing around and unsurprised to see Lars rushing from the stands not long after. A small pit of guilt formed in his stomach at the sight, and despite how much he still wanted Ilvermorny to win, Elliot felt a little bad for cheering against Blake so hard. "That had to hurt," he murmured instead, grimacing again when Daintree also got taken out. Elliot was glad he'd only landed himself in the hospital wing once, at the end of a game, but he knew it wasn't fun. "Man, I didn't know Ilvermorny were so aggressive. Reminds me of Juniper." @Celia Vuong
