Hufflepuff Quidditch Practice Y40/S2

Felix kept looking for the snitch.

Connor shot towards a bludger, aiming for his fellow beater to keep Tilly on her toes. The shot flew past her though, striking their newest Chaser instead. "YOU ALRIGHT?" Connor called out, flying towards Leonardo.

Felix was hoping that it wouldn't take as long to find the snitch again but it was looking like it he wouldn't be so lucky.

René managed to block Leo's next shot but Jordie got past him again, causing him to frown. "I can't tell which way you're gonna go now," he admitted with a frown, tossing the quaffle back out before flinching as Connor knocked a bludger right into Leo, making him really miss his beater's bat for a minute.

Jordie caught the quaffle as it was thrown back in, passing by Leo on the way. "Try feinting, it's working," he offered, starting around again.

Felix paused and watched the chasers for a bit before keeping up his search.

Jordie made it back around and tried again, pouting a bit as Rene caught it.

Leonardo was caught off guard when a bludger suddenly slammed into him. He stopped his flying for a moment and then glanced at the captain who was asking loudly if he was okay. Leo nodded though he didn't feel okay. He started flying again in time to get some quick advice from the other chaser and then after the other chaser tried to score, caught the ball as it was thrown back out.

Leonardo tried to fient, but ended up just missing. He need to do better and tried to not feel too disheartened, but he was feel pretty rough and not just from the bludger.

Jordie caught the quaffle as it was thrown back in. "Hey!" He called out to the other chaser, flying closer and giving him an encouraging grin. "Leo, right? Listen to me, Rene is hard on all of us. You're doing great. I've been on the team for years and I can barely get past him. Let's keep going, yeah?" He smiled at the boy before starting around again. @Leonardo Orr

Felix winced as Leo got hit by a bludger and almost missed the flash of gold that flew right by his head. But he was quick to react and chased after it. He had to dodge around his teammates and for a second he thought it might get away but eventually he reached out and grabbed the snitch out of the air, almost falling off his broom to do it.

Tilly winced when Connor's bludger crashed into Leonardo, the other second year. At least he was able to keep flying. Tilly hovered by the chasers, having decided to move to defence for a while.

It was starting to really frustrate Lucas that he hadn't caught the snitch yet, Felix was doing a lot better than him.

Jordie made his way back around and threw the quaffle, sighing as it was caught. He slumped on his broom. His arms hurt.

Leonardo couldn't help the dissappointment towards himself. He listened to the other chaser, Jordie's words but he knew they probably weren't being soaked in as much as he wanted, he just thought he wasn't doing good. He caught the quaffle after Jordie tried to score again and it was thrown back out.

Tilly hit nothing.

Leonardo tried to score again and couldn't held the groan of frustration as the keeper caught it once more. He knew it was good that Rene was doing well, but he couldn't help but internalise his failure.

Tilly thought her teammates were looking a bit too confident and unscathed for their own good.

Connor was relieved to see Leonardo was doing fine after the hit, and even more pleased to see Jordan encouraging him to keep going. He had hoped to see Jordan step up this year, and it was good to see him rising to the challenge. It lifted his spirits even higher when Felix caught the snitch, and Connor beamed at him, giving the younger boy a big thumbs up.

René tried not to let himself get too psyched out by Jordie's feinting, relieved when he managed to guess correctly on the next few attempts at goal. Leo wasn't looking too hot, but Jordie was speaking to him and René hoped it was helping, not feeling like he could offer advise himself when he was well aware he was just winging it.

Since he had failed, he decided to push forward and grabbed the quaffle as it was thrown back out. He needed to be better.

Tilly slapped a bludger and hit nothing but air.

René watched as Leo grabbed the quaffle again, shifting his broom slightly. He knew it was probably bad to be feeling smug about how well he was doing, especially when the chasers seemed a bit flustered, but he couldn't help but feel proud of how many shots he'd blocked so far.

Leonardo tried to score again and wasn't even surprised when the keeper caught it. He was pleased for the other boy catching them, but couldn't help but be frustrated with himself for missing, for not managing to get past him. He was trying to be better but it was proving a little disheartening and it didn't help that he was sore from the bludger hit.

It took all of TIlly's composure not to barrel-roll around the pitch.
