Hufflepuff Quidditch Practice Y40/S1

Linden smied as the new chaser got the quaffle giving him a thumbs up 👍 before looking at Jordie a puzzled expression on his face. Last year when he had been hanging back he had at least come forward when called up on it. Another shout came from accross the pitch as Lucas caught the snitch again. He pumped his fist in the air once this time before returning to look back at the chasers doing their lap.

Tilly's bludger sailed harmlessly through the air.

Felix looked for the snitch but was starting to worry he might not find it again before practice ended.

Smashing a bludger across the pitch, Tilly hit no one.

René had been glad for the timeout but he had to admit it was harder to get back going again now. His arms felt heavy and he was slow to keep up with the bludgers, turning around again as one managed to outpace him.

Linden kept hovering watching as the chasers fly away from his goal to the far end of the pitch and back. And definitely not watching the beaters hitting bludgers aWay from people the thwack of the bats against the bats not drawing his attention at all.

Felix sighed heavily and let his feet swing back and forth as he tried to look for the snitch and was feeling a bit dejected.

Connor was pleased when Lucas caught the snitch, focused more on his teammates than the bludgers as he kept an eye on their tactics. "OI JORDAN, GET IN THERE!" He called out, confused about why his most experienced Chaser seemed so distracted. The boy had been worrying Connor a bit recently, and he hoped it wouldn't affect their upcoming match.

linden continued to hover waiting for the quaffle to come even close to him. he could see Felix seeming to almost sag on his broom and wished he had some occlumancy skills so that he could mentally cheer him on. he cheered him anyway even though he was sure the message wouldn't get through.
at the shout from Connor, he rolled his eyes slightly at no one in particular, himself maybe, and flicked his hand in a way that he hoped said. 'that's what was trying to say''

With a definitive swing of her arms, Tilly cracked a bludger she was sure was going to hit one of the seekers. However, it veered away and hit @Linden Cullen instead.

Connor x1
Felix x1
Linden x1

Linden was paying attention to the quaffle that was still a way away from him that he didn’t register the sound of a bludger being hit. At least not until it slammed into his chest. Almost knocking him off the broom. And nocking all the air out of him with an oof. He had never known why others were drawn to positions with bigger targets on them than the keeper. Bludgers hurt.

Leonardo missed the hoops again when he tried and felt a little disappointed, perhaps it would've been better to really let the older boy take the ball.

Jordie had been hanging back, waiting for Leo to try and score. He pretended not to see Lin waving him over. When Connor yelled at him however, Jordie sighed and flew in, catching the quaffle and looping back around with it tucked under his arm. He needed to focus. He couldn't let what had happened get him kicked off of the team.

Lucas kept looking around for the snithc. He winced when he saw Linden got hit, but was glad he seemed okay.

Lucas had been doing so well René almost felt a bit bad hitting him, but he couldn't resist taking a shot when it lined up, knocking the bludger clean into their seeker while he was focused on the snitch. @Lucas Fletcher
Connor x1
Felix x1
Linden x1
Lucas x1

Lucas was trying to look around for the snitch, when a bludger smacked into him. He grunted, glad they had taken a break earlier.

Shaking out his arm, René considered switching his bat to his left hand before deciding that would probably be worse than using his tired right hand.

Linden was still reeling from being hit when Leo took a shot at goal. There was no way he could catch he was still trying to catch his breath but he was glad that it had gone wide. see me not paying attention to the beaters is what caused me to not catch the quaffle he thought as he pulled a sad/better luck next time face at Leo before throwing the ball back in glad that Jordie had finally joined the game and came forward to catch it.
mths sound of another bludger being hit echoed around the pitch and he looked up not wanting to be caught by suprise this time but he was safe he grimaced as it went flying into Lucas he hoped he was okay, he would have some bruises tomorrow.

Jordie flew back around, but his aim was off. He sighed as Linden caught it. He had hoped that recent bludger hit would have helped him. He sighed and started back around again. What was wrong with him? He knew what was wrong with him, he just didn't like it. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to refocus himself. He had to stop thinking about Nate.

Leonardo followed in behind the elder chaser who had the ball. Just to provide the support to him. When the older boy missed, he grabbed the ball.

edited- didn't release jordie no longer had the quaffle like an idiot.

Linden watched as Jordie came around the pitch and took a shot. He seemed to be not in the game. He saved the shot easily he gave a half smile and a shrug as of to say better luck next time before throwing the ball back into play.

Tilly hoped Linden wasn't too hurt. She veered off to circle the pitch.

Bat in hand, Connor flew on, looking for a good angle on a bludger.

Linden remained alert watching the other players.

Connor flew on and caught up with a bludger, swinging hard and watching in disappointment as it harmlessly sailed away from his teammates.
