Hufflepuff Quidditch Practice Y40/S1

Lucas felt his stomach drop when he noticed Connor and Linden were shouting at each other. Linden left the pitch, and Lucas watched him go anxiously. He probably should go after him, but... he didn't want Connor to bench him as well. He swallowed and kept on playing, vowing to go find Linden as soon as he could.

René turned his focus back on the chasers, trying not to panic when Leo made his shot. Thankfully, he missed, and René didn't think he could take much credit for that as he scooped the quaffle back up, but it was still a relief.

Leonardo was able to catch the ball when it was thrown back out and began circling back towards the hoops.

Leo grabbed the quaffle again when René threw it back out and René tried to shift his position on the hoops to match the chaser as he circled back.

leonardo felt off kilter as he tried to score again and missed. He should be better with this kid, given that he was a beater and not a keeper but he wasn't managing.

René let out another sigh of relief as Leonardo missed his next goal, fumbling to grab the quaffle and throw it back out. He'd gotten used to flying one handed holding his bat and it was weird to move back to using both his hands on the ball instead.

Lucas glanced at the entrance to the pitch, wondering if Linden was coming back.

René wiped his hands on his robes once he'd thrown the quaffle back out, hoping his palms wouldn't get too sweaty. Keeper was stressful, though at least he had more warning when the quaffle was coming his way compared to a bludger.

Lucas felt a bit uncomfortable, wondering if Linden would be in big trouble.

rule 2

Leonardo was able to grab the ball when it was thrown back out and none of the other chasers seemed to go forward to get it.

Felix kept looking for the snitch. He could not find it.

The floor and walls the gryffindor changing room was cold where linden leaned against it. And soon lindens breathing was settled back to normal. He wasn’t sure how long he had been there five minutes or half an hour. He hadn’t been crying. He was angry. That was all. They were hot tears of frustration He moved resting his forehead against a fresh bit of wall letting the cool radiate further.
eventually he stiffly got to his feet, splashed some cold water on his face and left the room he hadn’t heard everyone returning so the outburst hadn’t caused Connor to call an end to the session. He was worried about Lucas. He had only just started to make amends with Connor and he didn’t want to be another wedge driven between them.
The keeper took a different way out of the change rooms not going back to the pitch or back to the castle but taking the stairs onto the stands. Hi wondered what was going on. Maybe he has got a first year to float by the goals. He saw Rene there and felt a little bad that his actions meant he wouldn’t be practicing his position. He saw Lucas and gave him a wave to let him know he was okay hoping they the cold water and distance hid the redness and tear tracks.

Felix had gotten fiddling with the strap of his shin pad when he looked down and noticed a flash of gold and scrambled quickly to dive for the snitch. He held on tight to the handle of his broom as he went and straightened out just in time to race after it. With one more burst of speed he grabbed the gold ball out of the air.

Connor tried to focus on the rest of the team as well as the bludgers, face lighting up when Felix caught the snitch again. "Good one, Felix!" He called out, trying to hide the frustration and anger boiling inside of him. He just had to last until the showers, then he could have a good cry and let it all out.

René was distracted from watching where Leo had the quaffle again when Felix managed to grab the snitch, smiling at his success before remembering he needed to be watching for the chasers.

Lucas was relieved to see Linden on the stands, though he looked pretty sad. He still hoped he'd come back and join the practice, but doubted that was likely.

Leonardo cursed under his breath in frustrationw hen he missed again. He couldn't believe how many times he was failing to score.

Lucas rubbed his eye, starting to feel a bit tired from flying around so long.

Tilly wasn't sure what in the heck was going on between Linden and Connor. She'd never seen Connor (or Linden, for that matter) so fired up before. She kept the bludgers away in the meantime as they sorted things out. This was awkward. Tilly was happy when the game started up again. She felt a little sorry for Rene having to switch to Keeper.

Lucas still didn't see the snitch anywhere.

Blair honestly was scared when she noticed what was going on between Linden and Connor, she just stopped and waited for everything to be over. She honestly had no idea why Connor got mad ar Linden for supporting their team, Blair had always enjoyed the fact that their keeper supported them and gave tips. She was totally supporting Connor but only on the inside of her because she didn't want to get scalded too. After all, she could support Linden even after the practice, not right now. So when Rene got to hoops, she took a moment to realize what happened and when the quaffle was back in game, Blair caught it.

Connor tried to keep his nerves in check as he flew on, heading towards a bludger.

Leonardo was glad when one of the other chasers caight the ball and he was able to just fly in behind the other chaser.

Blair was still absolutely freaked out about what was going on, she aimed for the hoops but wasn't surprised when René caught the quaffle. She turned to Leonardo to say something but remembering the last situation, she decided to just continue flying and act like she didn't fail.

Tilly slapped a bludger so hard it ran away to another dimension.
