Hufflepuff Quidditch Practice Y40/S1

Tilly was very, very thankful for Connor calling a break. She planted herself on the ground and crossed her legs with a cup of water cradled in her lap. The Hufflepuff had to admit she felt a lot better after throwing up and resting for a few minutes; maybe she'd eaten something rotten earlier in the day. There was a little more color in her face as she launched back into the air; there was a lot of clobbering she had to do.
 
Felix was glad to have a break and grab something to drink before getting back to practice. But he wasn't looking forward to more bludger hits. He was starting to feel better but he knew he would be sore later. And he was right to be worried when Connor hit him again.
 
René wondered if he should try to protect Felix again or go on the offensive. Undecided, he ended up tailing after Tilly for a bit instead, trying to match how she moved with her bat.
 
Felix kept looking, and looking, and looking.
 
René was starting to really feel the ache in his arms after not playing much over the holidays. He took a swing at a passing bludger but barely managed to change its course.
 
linden landed when time out was called and took a drink from his water bottle. "oh come on, it was a joke. after he hit me THROGUH the hoop" he said stressing the word through as connor said that he couldn't talk to other players. "Fine I will only talk to other players playing the same position as me" he said knowing that they both knew he was the only keeper. once break was over he took up to the hoops rolling his eyes to himself and started guarding ready for the chasers to have a shot.
 
Blair was overly happy when Connor announced a break as she was literally hurting because of the bludgers. She enjoyed her break and after that, she mounted her broom and simply took the quaffle again.
 
linden watched blare take the quaffle and start her loop around the pitch. making a point not to watch any of the other players other than keeping an eye on the quaffle, not cheer anyone else on and just hover in front of the goals.
 
Blair tried to score and once she failed, she just groaned and watched who will get the quaffle now.
 
linden saw blair approaching with the quaffle and focused managing to save her shot. he looked at her and gave an over the top pouty expression hoping it conveyed the message of sorry better luck next time before looking at the chasers. as he had been pointedly not-paying-attention-to-any-other-players-and-just-guarding-the-goals-even-though-the-quaffle-was-at-the-far-end-of-the-pitch he had noticed one of the chasers lagging behind it wasn't the first time that Jordie had taken a back seat during training somehow lacking in confidence. he waved once pointedly at the boy to get his attention pointed to him and then gestured scoring before throwing the quaffle into play hoping that he would fly forward for it. he hoped that he got the message. you're up, have a shot.

René shot away from Tilly, thinking he saw an opening to take a swing at a bludger. He'd mistimed it however, overshooting the bludger and having to quickly turn around to try and catch up.
 
Leonardo was following the other chasers. He spotted the keeper motioning to the other chaser, the older chaser and just hung back, since clearly it was the older boy was supposed to be the one to grab the ball. Leo certainly didn't want to get in the middle of something like that.
 
Lucas had been glad for the little break. He felt refreshed as they returned to the air. He noticed something happening between Connor and Linden, but tried to focus on his own task. He spotted the snitch and caught it surprisingly easily. He grinned. "Got it!"
 
linden couldn't see Jordie coming forward. maybe he hadn't heard him. or maybe there was another reason he wasn't playing as hard as he knew he could. like last year someone had told him he wasn't good. a cheer from across the match caught his attention and he smiled when he saw his boyfriend holding the snitch. he wanted to let out a whoop but instead, he gave a huge grin and pumped his fists in the air. for a second before returning to watch the quafle.

Blair noticed Linden's gestures and gave a moment for Jordie or Leo to get the quaffle.
 
Tilly was not having much luck this practice. Thankfully, her nausea was getting a little better. She slapped a bludger away from the hoops.
 
Lucas let the snitch go and grinned at Linden cheering for him. He let it get away and resumed his search. Before long, Lucas spotted it again. He laughed as he grabbed it again. "And that's three!"
 
Felix was impressed that Lucas had caught the snitch so many times already. So he kept looking hoping to find it at least one more time.
 
Leonardo was a little confused by the keeper and did manage to catch the ball when it was thrown back out. He began making his way to the hoops again.
 
Lucas was feeling a lot more confident. That break had done him a lot of good. He kept on flying, scanning for the snitch.
 
Tilly hit nothing.
 
Lucas kept on looking for the snitch.
 
Jordie saw Linden trying to call him forward but Jordie stayed back anyway, watching as the new chaser took it and slowly trailing after him instead. Why was Jordie taking this so hard? Sure, Nate had been his first boyfriend. But they hadn't even said the L word before Nate had just... Shattered Jordies heart, really. Jordie sighed and tried to turn his attention more to the game. He was supposed to be playing.
 
Blair was unsure of what was going on with Jordie, and with how much she wanted to check on him, she decided that it would be best to just follow Leonardo and hope that Jordie will finally get more into the practice.
 
Lucas kept looking around for the snitch as he flew lower to the ground.
