Hufflepuff Quidditch Practice Y40/S1

It was a bit cheeky, but seeing Connor distracted while checking on Tilly, René couldn't ignore the opening he had when he rounded on the other bludger, knocking it straight into @Lucas Fletcher while he was unguarded.

While Lucas had understood Connor's point about practice with the bludgers, but as the second bludger hit he was starting to regret not voicing an objection. He groaned, clinging to his broom.

Felix kept searching for the snitch but kept looking over his shoulder in case a bludger decided to come his way again.

Feeling pretty pumped after managing to get past Connor, René tried to knock the next bludger towards their other seeker. It wasn't a solid hit, and Felix moved too quickly however, and René grimaced as the bludger spun off into @Jordan Harris instead.

Connor winced as he saw Lucas and Jordan both get hit while he was distracted. He was pleased his Beaters were on their game, but it did make for a rough practice for the rest of the team.

Even if his last bludger hadn't quite gone where he was aiming, René was still feeling pretty good about his streak so far. Pulling up on the other bludger, he hit it hard, realizing belatedly that though he'd gotten a solid swing, he'd been more focused on power than aiming, watching as it accidentally sailed into @Leonardo Orr

Spotting another bludger roving too close to Lucas, Connor shot towards it and swung, watching as the ball crossed the pitch and connected with @Felix Carnahan

Felix had been doing his best to look out for bludgers as he searched for the snitch, which was probably why it was taking him so long to find it. But his vigielnce did come in handy and he saw the bludger coming for him and he tried to doge out of the way. He was able to keep it from hitting his arm and instead it ended up crashing into his ankle causing white hot pain to shoot up his leg. Felix yelped in pain but managed to stay steady on his broom.

Leonardo was able to grab the ball as it was thrown back out, but then he got hit with the bludger. The force of it wasn't nice at all and it caused him to fumble the quaffle slightly only barely keeping hold of it as he then headed towards the hoops.

Felix was starting to feel pretty miserable now but he refused to cry even if he kind of wanted to. But he pushed forward and kept looking for the snitch. He had just glanced towards the ground when he saw a flash of gold. With out a second thought he raced toward it, ignoring the pain in his arm and leg. It didn't take long for him to catch up and grab the snitch out of the air and hold it up victoriously. "Woo I did it!" he shouted and looked for Connor to show it off.

René saw Felix on the move and launched another bludger towards him, surprised when Felix suddenly dove downwards and shot over his head, swerving into @Connor Holland instead who was still nearby. The sudden dive made a lot more sense when René saw Felix hold up the snitch, blinking in impressed surprise.

Jordie yelped as the bludger smacked into his side. He groaned, taking a minute to breath before following after the new chaser.

Lucas was not having a great time, he hoped the beaters would leave him alone now. He felt even less good when he saw the alternate seeker had caught the snitch already. He couldn't be doing this bad.

Leonardo got close to the hoops and, and he threw the quaffle and was disappointed when he once again missed.

Deciding maybe he should try playing more defensively, René moved a little closer to Felix once he was moving again, giving their new seeker a wave hello before suddenly swerving as he spotted an incoming bludger. He knocked it away, not really focusing on where, grimacing as it knocked into @Blair Bianchi

Felix was feeling a bit better about practice after catching the snitch. He still hurt from the bludgers but his spirits were high again as he started his search again.

Following after Felix, René was still feeling confident, ducking forward to knock a bludger away, sending it along to @Tilly Drage instead.

Connor was too busy watching Felix's sudden detour to notice the bludger coming after him until it was too late. He tried to pull out of the way but it hit him square in the side, knocking the wind out of him for a second. He couldn't quite get himself together to congratulate Felix or René, giving them each a weak thumbs up instead. After a few breaths against the tight pain in his ribs, he felt well enough to call out to the team again; "OKAY BEATERS, EASE OFF THE SEEKERS FOR NOW. FOCUS ON THE REST OF THE TEAM."

Rule 2

Leonardo was able to swipe the ball when it was thrown back out and would circle back to try and score.

René flinched when Connor called out to leave the seekers alone, nodding in understanding. He hadn't been planning to hit Felix again, but he backed off anyway, just in case Connor thought he wasn't listening.

Felix was relieved when Connor called off the beaters from targeting him. He didn't want to head to the hospital wing after his first practice. He kept looking for the snitch but it was doing a good job of hiding.

Moving away from the seekers, René circled the pitch, trying to figure out where the bludgers had gone while he wasn't watching.

Leonardo got close enough to the hoops again and threw the ball, pretty pleased when it finally went in. He'd need to keep playing like that.

Catching up to one of the bludgers, René tried to send it after the chasers, figuring they were easier to hit since there were more, but they'd already moved after the quaffle by the time he'd managed to knock the bludger their way.

Felix kept looking for the snitch but it kept hiding.
