Hufflepuff Quidditch Practice Y40/S1

René could see Connor was gunning hard for Lucas and he tried to keep up, managing to bank quickly and knock one the bludgers across the pitch. He didn't manage to hit anyone but at least he was making contact.

Flying on, Connor took a moment to collect himself and kept an eye on the other players, eager to see his team up to the level that had won them the cup last year.

Rounding back on the same bludger he'd hit earlier, René sent it back the other way, grinning as he finally managed to hit @Lucas Fletcher
Felix x1
Connor x1
Blair x1
René x1
Lucas x1

Lucas yelped as a bludger hit him. Two beaters seemed to be trying to get him, and René has managed it. He wished one of them would practice protecting him instead.

Rule 2

Leonardo was able to swipe the ball before any of the other chasers were able to catch it and began circling back to the hoops.

After seeing Lucas get hit, Connor flew in closer to him, trying to take on a defensive role, though he made sure to keep a respectful distance. Seeing a bludger flying near Lucas he shot towards it and batted it away, missing Felix but hitting @Linden Cullen completely by accident. "YOU OKAY?" He called out, sticking close to Lucas.

Felix x1
Connor x1
Blair x1
René x1
Lucas x1
Linden x1

Connor had moved to defend Lucas now and René wondered if he should try to do the same with Felix or just see if he could manage to get past Connor. He didn't want to look like he was just copying the older beater, but it would be a lot harder to hit Lucas now.

Leonardo was able to fly close enough and was disappointed when his shot went completely wide. He had to do better than this.

Jordie was distracted enough that a new player managed to steal the ball. He frowned and went after them. He caught the ball as Linden threw it back in and started around again, determined to actually make the shot this time around.

Connor stuck reasonably close to Lucas as he flew on, keeping an eye out for any incoming bludgers.

Determined this time, Jordie circled around again. He managed to score, but he barely cracked a smile as he turned and started to fly around the pitch again.

René wondered if he was imagining that Jordie seemed less and less animated during practices. It was hard to tell with everyone flying around as they did, and René figured he should focus on the bludgers before he got hit again.

Blair caught the quaffle once it was back again and flew through the pitch, and tried to notice if any of the boys were following her and tried to keep alarmed on the bludgers, not wanting to be hit again.

Connor kept flying close to Lucas, batting away another bludger that got a little too close.

Jordie fell in behind Blair. He kept his distance, not wanting her to try and pass instead of scoring.

Leonardo was a little disappointed by the fact the older chaser managed to score. he knew that older boy was more experienced that him, so of course he'd been able to do it. The hufflepuff just followed in behind the other chaser.

Felix was a little more skittish now that the bludgers were really flying. He kept his arm tucked close to his side as he kept up his search for the snitch.

René had tried to send another bludger towards Lucas, frowning when Connor had been able to knock is aside without any real issue. He drifted a little closer to Felix, though he wasn't quite fast enough to really defend him.

Blair understood that she wasn't able to pass the quaffle, so she tried to score and her try was blocked, so she just groaned madly.

René was right on top of one the bludgers when it suddenly changed course, nearly hitting him as he was forced to suddenly roll out of the way, gripping his broom tightly and feeling a bit shaky as he regained his bearings.

Felix tried not to follow Lucas around but he couldn't help but try and do exactly what he did. He was still so new at this whole quidditch thing and could use all the help he could get.

The bludger hit stung a lot, though Lucas tried to ignore it and focus on finding the snitch.

Connor stuck close to Lucas, keeping an eye out and batting away any bludgers that came nearby as he flew on.

After his near miss earlier, René was more focused this time, taking a swing at the bludger Connor had just knocked away from Lucas. He didn't think he could make it hit Felix, so he tried the next best thing, sending it straight on towards @Tilly Drage
Felix x1
Connor x1
Blair x1
René x1
Lucas x1
Linden x1
Tilly x1

Connor was pleased to see bludgers flying, remembering the absurdity of the Hufflepuff team's last win. If they could pull off something like that again... but at the same time, he wanted to keep his own team safe. "YOU OKAY?" He called out to Tilly, looking over to make sure she wasn't too badly hurt.
