Hufflepuff Practice Y38 S2

It was a lot less stressful to not have the quaffle and René was content to back up Amy as she approached the hoops.

Still with Rene behind her, Amy decided to try and score again. She grinned as the Quaffle flew through the hoop.

Tilly smacked a bludger towards @Connor Holland and grimaced as it flew right into him. It was always hard to take a hit when you were the one with a bat.

Connor was just having no luck whatsoever with the bludgers, distracted looking around when one started rushing towards him. He yelped when he heard it and tried to swing his bat, but the ball was far too close to interrupt, and it struck him hard in the shoulder.

Tilly waved at Connor apologetically. She hoped she wouldn't have to walk him to the hospital wing later.

Elliot always wanted to encourage the beaters, especially Tilly, when they were having a good day, but he wouldn't deny there was a lingering fear of causing trouble for himself in the process.

Watching Amy get another goal, René could understand why she was one of their captains. Wondering if he could copy her, he swung forward on his broom, grabbing the quaffle when Linden threw it back in.

Shoulder still smarting from the strike, Connor chased after the bludger that had hit him and swung hard, sending it right back to @Tilly Drage. "SORRY!" He called out, as he saw the ball collide with the younger beater.

Amy followed Rene after he caught the quaffle, and kept a close eye out for the bludgers that were flying around.

Tilly wasn't expecting the bludger to come back to her so soon. She involuntarily exhaled as the iron ball hit her in the side. Winded, she gave Connor a thumbs up. She deserved it, after all.

Amy kept an eye on the rest of the team as she flew with Rene, seeing how they were doing.

As bad as he felt about it, getting a good hit in always pumped Connor up, and he felt reinvigorated as he shot towards the other bludger, swinging hard and giving another small holler of triumph as his shot hit @Elliot Briar

Elliot tried to keep his distance as the beaters started exchanging bludgers, but clearly not enough as he took a second hit, gripping his broom tightly so he could hold on.

René tried not to let Amy or the bludgers make him nervous as he made his way to the hoops. He lingered, thinking about taking a shot again, but was aware he'd definitely waited too long and Linden would block him. Instead, he passed over to @Amy Jewel again.

Amy caught the quaffle Rene passed to her, understanding how difficult it was to try and score under pressure. She decided to play around the pitch again, keeping an eye out for the other chasers.

Still shaking off the throbbing ache from the bludger hit, Elliot decided to take it easy for a bit. As nice as another catch was, he didn't want to overdue it right before the game.

Content to fly back, René stuck near Amy as she continued around the pitch.

Lucas kept looking around for the snitch. After his first success, it had been kind of quiet. Elliot was definitely still doing better.

After not seeing any of the other chasers, Amy grinned as she scored again.

Tilly's next bludger sailed into @Rene Tofilau. She hoped their youngest player was all right.

Connor didn't think he would ever get over feeling bad about hitting his teammates, but success still felt a little bit good. Still, he flew wide and held back for a bit, taking a moment to survey the pitch.

Tilly aimed her next bludger for Amy Jewel. Instead, it went off course and hit @Jordan Harris. Strike two.

Lucas saw Tilly hit two people and moved further away from her, hoping she wouldn't hit him again.

Jordie cried out in pain when Tilly hit him again, taking a second to breath. She was going to cuddle him later to make up for this assault.

The sun was getting high in the sky now and Elliot knew they'd need to call it for today if they wanted time to clean up before classes. "Alright, everyone, good job," he said, blowing his whistle and touching down. "I really think we have a good shot with Gryffindor but let's not relax too much," he said as the rest of the team joined him. He'd been pleased with how the practice went, he just hoped the game went just as smooth.
