Hufflepuff Practice Y38 S2

Jordie made it to the other hoops and tried to throw the ball again, only to fail. His brow furrowed. Well, that didn't go well.

As weird as he felt about having to play against his new boyfriend, Connor wasn't going to hold anything back in the match against Gryffindor. He knew he had to put everything into this practice to get ready for the match, so he kicked off from the ground when the practice began and shot into the air, searching the sky around him for a bludger.

Lin Watched Rene come towards him and was surprised when the ball ended up going through the hoops. As he went to retrieve it wondered if it was more luck than skill. goid shothe called before throwing it back into the game. He didn’t have to wait long before Jordie sent it back towards him. This time he managed to block before passing it into the game.

Elliot paused a moment when he thought he'd seen something darting across the pitch. When he couldn't spot anything for sure though, he moved on.

René could feel sympathetic embarrassment for Jordie as his shot was blocked again, hesitantly taking the quaffle when it was thrown back in. Maybe he could find someone else to pass at so he wouldn't haven't face missing a shot himself.

Spotting a bludger, Connor fixated on the ball and shot towards it, swinging hard and aiming for Elliot. His angle was off though, and to Connor's dismay the bludger flew right past his teammates.

Elliot glanced over when he heard the sound of a bludger connecting with a bat, managing to pull back on his broom in time to let the bludger sail past cleanly, relieved it hadn't hit.

Tilly slapped a bludger away from her teammates. She would need to switch to offense soon. From her perspective, though, it was on her teammates not to develop a false sense of security.

The bludgers were starting to fly now and Elliot tried to put a little distance between them and himself.

Unable to find a good chance to pass and not wanting to hold onto the quaffle for too long, René swooped past the hoops again, relieved and proud as he managed to get it in the hoops for a second time, checking over his shoulder to see if anyone else had seen.

Tilly hoped she would smack at least one Gryffindor with a bludger during the next game. So far, she wasn't hitting any Hufflepuffs.

Connor flew at another bludger that had gotten a bit too close to Elliot, smacking it away from the seeker. If he wasn't on his offensive game, hopefully he could at least contribute a decent defense.

Elliot gave Connor an appreciative smile as he knocked the next bludger away from him, relieved that he could stay focused on looking for the snitch.

René hung back again as Linden threw the quaffle back in. He'd been on a roll so far, but he'd prefer to keep it that way if he could, which meant not trying to score again unless he was positive he could make it. Like if Linden went on a break or something.

Elliot was sure he'd seen a flash of movement that actually was the snitch this time, sparing only a second to check for bludgers before swooping downwards after it. He wasn't close yet, but if he was quick, he might be able to catch up.

Now Tilly was really getting amped up. She hadn't gotten in a single bludger hit yet. Tilly did have to give her teammates kudos for avoiding the bludgers so far.

Jordie caught the quaffle as it was thrown back in, wanting to try again, but also checking as he started around to see if anyone else wanted it.

Lucas was keeping an eye on Elliot and saw that he started flying purposely after something, he knew that had to be the snitch. Lucas flattened himself on his broom, flying closer to see if he could grab it first.

Elliot could see Lucas tailing him in his peripheral vision but stayed focused, turning sharply to follow along with the snitch.

Jordie took the quaffle next and René followed along after, happy to support him.

Jordie flew up to the hoops, and did his best, throwing the ball with all his might and cheering when it went through. Sweet! He instantly felt better about it.

Elliot glanced over his shoulder, checking for Lucas or any bludgers. Facing forward again he nearly missed the snitch shooting upwards, belatedly moving to follow it in a climb that caused him to lose some distance.

René cheered along with Jordie when he managed to make a goal before just managing to catch ahold of the quaffle again when it was thrown back out.

Tilly hit a bludger towards her teammates and missed all of them. It was intentional... right?

Elliot tried to keep calm and focused as he tailed the snitch but it was frustrating as it continued to stay out of his reach.
