Personality: Hayley likes to think of herself as tough and cynical, and her experiences as a muggleborn at Hogwarts have made her wary and mistrustful. She tends to be suspicious of new people until she finds out where they stand, but she is fiercely loyal to her friends. She is quick to anger and prone to holding grudges. Being an only child, she is fiercely independent and used to being able to spend time alone.
Strengths:

- Hayley is intelligent and quick-witted, often able to come up with a snarky or sarcastic comment for any situation.

History: Hayley was born and grew up in Christchurch, the only child of Muggles Marissa Elridge and John Richardson. Her father left when she was young, for reasons Marissa refuses to tell her. Naturally, Marissa and Hayley grew very close, and Hayley picked up her feminist views and love of drawing from her mother. Raising a magical child as a single parent was a struggle for Marissa. Hayley had several incidents with accidental magic during her childhood which alarmed them both deeply. Nevertheless, Marissa always made an effort to establish a safe and peaceful home for her daughter, even if she couldnt be there as often as she would have liked due to the demanding nature of her job. Hayley was bullied in primary school, and it made her perhaps overly ready to defend herself. This also sparked her interest in punk music and the associated subculture.
Hayley's first knowledge of the magical world came with her Hogwarts letter. Since coming to Hogwarts New Zealand, she has been fascinated by the magic she is learning, but frustrated to find that the wizarding world is just as prejudiced as the Muggle one, if not more so. As a muggleborn, Hayley experiences much friction with other Slytherins, and her closest friends are Gryffindors.
