Signy had been poking around the great hall looking for a girl called hayley, she didn't know much about her, that they were in different houses but the same year group. She eventually spotted the girl as she was leaving the hall, "Hayley Elridge!" she called, chasing after the girl, "Wait up! I have a rose for you!" Signy moved quickly hoping that this girl would want the rose that she had for her. it was always gun to hand out roses, but sometimes it was a little difficult to pin people down. If the school wasn't so huge it wouldn't be so bad, but at the very least, Signy would feel accomplished because of all the hard work she would be putting in.

Hayley left the Great Hall with a smile back on her face. She'd had a fun breakfast with her friends at the Gryffindor table, and they'd managed to avoid talking about the valentines celebrations going on around them, apart from a bit of good-natured teasing Rose about her boyfriend. Harley seemed to be pretending nothing was wrong, and that was fine. She was fine. When someone called her name she stiffened, but it was fine, she was expecting this, she was fine. She couldn't keep being oversensitive and jumpy about this all day. She turned to face the girl approaching her. "Oh, hey," she said, in a relaxed tone, "thanks."

Signy smiled at the girl as she approached her, glad the girl had actually stopped, since it would've been less than enjoyable to keep chasing after her to give her this rose. She took the said rose from her basket, a lovely yellow rose and handed it to the girl, "it comes with this note here," the girl then added taking out the note and handing that also to the girl. "Thanks for stopping by the way!" she added, it maybe wasn't necessary but there may have been some unwilling to stop.

And then Hayley read the note, and all her melancholy and frustration came crashing down around her again. Tears welled in her eyes and she blinked them back furiously, hiding in reading the note, hoping the other girl hadn't seen. She couldn't cry again, most of all not in the middle of the entrance hall in front of a stranger. Best friends forever. Yeah, they were, of course they were, but how could she pretend that nothing was wrong? Even in this private note to Hayley, the only one she'd trusted with the truth? On this of all days, the palpable reminder that Harley had kissed Odette, that her other friends had boyfriends, and that all Hayley wanted to do was kiss Harley. Hayley couldn't bring herself to look away from the note but she smiled at the delivery girl. "Thank you," she said, and was pleased with the way her voice didn't give her away. "No problem."
