A LITTLE DEEPER
PERSONALITY:Matt is a very fun and casual man who enjoys cracking jokes and spending time with his family. He's a very curious person who loves to read as much as he loves having discussions with others about the things he reads about. Ever since his daughter was born, taking care of her has been a big part of his life. It made him more grounded and responsible, while still being a very laid back parent. He does spoil April sometimes, but he sees no harm in it.
HISTORY:Matt grew up in New Zealand, raised by a wizarding couple. He lived in the countryside with his parents for most of his life where he was surrounded by magic from a young age. Here he learned how to take care of magical plants from his mother, which awakened his passion for potions. Matt went to Hogwarts in New Zealand, where he was sorted into Ravenclaw. Matt really enjoyed his time at Hogwarts, focusing on the subjects he enjoyed most. His sister Amy was born when Matt was in his final year at Hogwarts, which means the two have a big age-gap, though the two are still close and he tries to look out for her.
He moved to the city after leaving school and secured a job in a potions lab. During a night out, he met a young muggle woman named Adelia Kolter. Their personalities were very different, Matt being laid back and relaxed and Adelia being driven and ambitious, but the two were well matched. After a few years of dating, Matt told her about the magical world, something she took surprisingly well. It didn't take long for them to get married. Matt was 25 when his daughter was born.
When April was six years old, Adelia and Matt split up. Adelia's ambition pulled her away from her family and into work, and the split between the magical world where Matt worked and the muggle world he would never fully be a part of aided this decision. The two are still on friendly terms, and neither of them regret the decision, though Matt does occasionally feel guilty about raising April without a mother figure.
After raising April alone for five more years, Matt met someone new at his daughters ballet class. Another dad picking up his own daughter. Matt was instantly charmed by Kyle's French accent, and after talking to him a few times he asked the other man out. The two started dating regularly soon and both told their daughters. Matt is still seeing Kyle and the two are happy together. They are both magical, though they didn't know about the other at first.

STRENGTHS: Matt is adaptable and can fit in pretty much any situation, he's very good at getting along with most people and can talk himself out of situations if needed.
WEAKNESSES: Matt doesn't always know when it's time to stop joking, so he can come across as insensitive sometimes. He's also very bad at saying no to his daughter.
