Norton felt proud that he was able to host this event. He knew it wasn’t really part of the remit of the wild patch, but the tradition had allowed him to be the one to host it this year. Really Norton hadn’t gone much off script than the previous years, there were the many stays, the face painting, the flower crowns, the arts and crafts area, the information area. He had kept what they’d added in the last year with the magical charmed drinks - soft drinks of course - that were magicked to look like some of the flags of the various identities and then also to just sparkle and shine if someone would rather not specify. He had also done, what April would probably call the nerdy thing, but through his own job had gotten the book store to donate a whole host of books, all of which featured some kind of LGBT+ plot. He had specified that the books could not be tragic, they could have angst but they had to mostly just be happy. They had to be romance plots, adventure plots, ghost stories, teen dramas, anything that wasn’t too heavy reading or featured too much that was negative. Norton himself had also made muffins, cookies and cakes, all of which had various designs on them, some flags, some words, some ‘i love my x son/daughter/friend’, and other bits that were for allies too. Norton had worn what he liked to call his pan shirt, with the various colours of the pan flag, a happy coincidence, since it hadn’t been intentional or mentioned. He’d also put on a flower crown, with colourful flowers. He was walking around the room, ready to greet people as they arrived. He had fun muggle and magic music playing in the background, and he was keen that this was going to just be so much fun.

Kauri was as excited as always for Pride, and a little saddened that this would be his last one at Hogwarts. Having a close community of people like him was important to Kauri, and he had come to really love the Hogwarts LGBTQ+ events. It felt especially important to be there this year, so that anyone who was struggling could see their Head Boy was like them, and maybe feel a little bit less alone. He knew there would be face painting so hadn't bothered to put rainbows on his face himself, instead wearing a few rainbow and pansexual pride bracelets he had accumulated over the years. Upon arriving at the event Kauri gave Norton a cheerful nod before heading to the face painting table. He painted a rainbow on one of his cheeks and the pansexual flag on the other, happy with his work when he had finished. Kauri decided to stick around the face painting table for a little while in case anyone needed help, even though he didn't have the steadiest of hands.

Pride. Charlie always attended, mostly to spend time with Phoebe, but last year she had taken a step out of her comfort zone. The pile of crumpled pamphlets she had grabbed last year were somewhere lost at the bottom of her suitcase, and Charlie didn't know what she was going to do about them. Figuring out that she liked girls hadn't been much of a questioning for her, but recently, Charlie had been feeling more and more torn about her identity. So she arrived early, before anyone was around to see her, and hurried over to the information table. She barely looked as she pocketed the pamphlets she needed and then moved far away, taking a seat at a table and glaring at anyone nearby who wasn't Phoebe.

Acacia had been looking forward to Pride all year, and the day had finally come! She couldn't have been more full of joy as she bounced into the Great Hall, eyes lighting up at the sight of the familiar welcoming decorations and booths. She made her way over to the table with flower crowns, finding a pink and orange one she liked and settling it carefully around the bun she had tied her braids into. Perfect! It was maybe a little silly, a little sappy how badly she hoped to run into Maggy here, but only time would tell.

There was a small nervous flutter in Nell's stomach as she entered the Great Hall for Pride. She had been... figuring some things out about herself, and this would be her first time attending an event like this. Looking back, Nell supposed it never should have surprised her that she would be capable of being attracted to anyone, there were far too many interesting people of all types to limit herself to one gender. Still, this all felt very new, and Nell felt uncharacteristically shy as she entered the Great Hall, doubly so as a rather moody looking person glared at her from across the hall. She made a beeline for the information table, looking over everything available there with interest. Maybe she should do some reading about all this. She had just sort of jumped into being pansexual feet first, without doing any research, which was terribly unlike her. Yeah, maybe doing a little bit of reading was a good idea.

It had become an important ritual for Kahurangi, to attend the school's Pride celebrations every year. She wanted any students who were questioning their identities to know that there were members of the school faculty who had been through what they were going through, and were here to help. The importance of that had only really sunk in a short few years ago, when helping a student with a reading had turned into the girl coming out to her. It was so important for these kids to know they had people they could turn to when they were in need. So Kahurangi showed up in a denim jacket with the lesbian flag beautifully embroidered on the back, ready to be here and be seen. She recognised a few of her own students and greeted them each with a smile, before heading over to peruse the new literature table, wondering if she would ever have enough free time to consider reading for fun again.

Gwen had never been to a pride event at the school before, and she thought that it was about time that she did. The Wild Patch hosted it, and they really seemed like a good bunch. She wasn't part of the LGBTQ community herself, but her parents were, and so she wanted to be there to support them, even if they weren't there themselves. If it was interesting enough, Gwen could tell them about it, and she was sure they would be happy to hear what she had to say about it. The girl turned up to the Great Hall with everyone else, looking around at all of the decorations and all of the people that had come dressed up. The teen suddenly thought she was a bit under dressed in her house robes, but she didn't plan on staying for long anyway, and was mostly just curious as to what the event was like. She walked around the place before finally coming across the face painting table. The Head Boy was standing there and Gwen beamed at him, hoping that a face paint would help her fit in a bit more. "Hey! Do you mind if I get my face painted?"

The flowery Wild Patch Club had never been something Phoebe was very interested in, but she had to appreciate it for their annual pride event. It was sad that this would be the last one, but she was glad Norton had organized it again. As she headed inside, she gave the Hufflepuff boy a wave. It wasn't like they were close, or really talked, but she appreciated his effort here. Grabbing a cookie with the lesbian flag on it, Phoebe looked around until she spotted the person she was looking for. She grinned when she saw Charlie, bounding over to her enthusiastically. "Hey, if we share this cookie and kiss in the middle, would that be gross or cute?" She asked her, showing her the cookie she had grabbed.

Pride was an event Lysander had been very excited for when he first heard about it. Growing up with two dads had made him very aware of LGBT issues, and he loved them more than the world. Though he'd been told on more than one occasion how sad it was that he didn't have a mother in his life, he was glad for it and couldn't imagine not having them as parents. Sexuality was far at the back of his own head, a bit too grown up and not something he cared to think about for the time being, not when there were so many other magical things to focus on. The boy wore a pair of rainbow shoes for just the occasion, and stepped into the Great Hall to find it decorated the best he'd ever seen it. It looked like there was so much to do! Sander wasted no time grabbing a multi-coloured softdrink and an "I love my gay dad" cupcake before they were all gone. He couldn't see his father around yet, but he was bound to turn up at some point. To pass the time, he hopped in line for face-painting, and kept an eye out for his friends.

Maggy paused outside of the Great Hall, she hadn't ever really told anyone besides her family now that she was into girls. She was happy with herself and knew what she wanted now but she hadn't ever been to one of the pride events before. She had heard about them and thought about going last year. It made her a little nervous but she forced herself to walk through the doors and into the Great Hall. She looked around at all the different things, books, flags, colors exploding everywhere. It looked somewhat like how she imagined her mind would look. Smiling she spotted Acacia. She had a crush on her roommate ever since around the time she'd helped her with her makeup last year. Of course Maggy thought most of the girls at the school were pretty but she had a connection and friendship with Acacia already, which made having a crush on the girl easier. She walked over to her friend feeling a little shy but happy she had come. "Hey".

Kauri smiled when a younger girl approached him to have her face painted, nodding with a grin. "I'll try, but I can only do flags or rainbows." He said with a small laugh at himself. "You don't wanna see what happens if I try to draw anything other than a straight line." Kauri picked up a brush, gesturing to the flags around the room. "Do you know what you want done?" He could already see another person lining up, recognising Lysander from the Brotherhood, and hoped he wouldn't be alone painting faces for long. Kauri definitely didn't trust himself to have a steady enough hand.

Charlie tried and failed not to jump when Phoebe approached, the pamphlets feeling as though they were burning a hole in her pocket. She tried to ignore the worries in the back of her mind and focus on Charlie, laughing at her girlfriend's proposition. "Definitely gross, but I'm in." She said with a smile. Phoebe's graduation was devastatingly soon, and Charlie wanted to make the most of every moment they had together. Even if it meant being kind of gross in public.

Touching the flowers in her hair to make sure they were perfect, Acacia's heart leaped as she heard a familiar voice. She turned to face Maggy, unable to help the broad grin that spread across her face. "Hey!" Acacia said cheerfully. This was... a surprising development. "I didn't expect to see you here, what's up?!" Acacia could tell her voice was a little too bright, but she couldn't help the excitement. She hoped Maggy wasn't just here to be supportive.

Elio had recently had an awkward encounter with his sexuality at its core, so the fourth year had more than one reason to attend the LGBTQ Pride event. He actually had questions he wanted to ask other students in the know, although he didn't really have the best idea of how to get to that point. Of course as even he'd attended with his camera, still hopeful to get a number of photos of the event, even if they were just for his own use rather than going towards anything anyone else would see. He entered the room, looking for the oldest students, when he saw both Norton and Kauri in the room. Norton seemed nice enough, but he didn't know him as well as Kauri, who was both in the Brotherhood and in his own house, and so he headed across to see what he was doing. "Are you on face painting duty?" he grinned at the older Gryffindor, hoping that even if he did have tasks on, he would be able to have a chat at the same time. One of the younger girls was already looking for something done, and Elio perched on one of the tables, watching to see how well this went down.

Mhairi had been increasingly nervous about her brother, who seemed to become more and more recluse every time she saw him. At the beginning of the year he'd shared a train to Hogwarts with his friends, but now the sixth year barely saw him with anyone asides from that younger Hufflepuff girl from the WPC. If she was going to find Ilija anywhere, she had hoped he would attend this event and she'd get the chance to pull him to the side and have a word about what was going on, but as the blonde entered the Great Hall, he was no where in sight. She recognised a few faces from around the school of course, but none of those were her brother. With her wand in her hand, she approached one of the boys she did know with a smile, before casting a spell she'd been using for years, "Hi Norton," The words appeared in fire in the air above her as she wrote, an expert now at writing letters backwards as a simple way of communicating with other students around her. It had been hard at first, to talk to people and show them that her hearing was not like theirs, but she'd developed her own ways of overcoming it, and still hoped that one day in the future, it could have been resolved completely.

Wendall didn't know much about the event going on today besides what Olive had told him. Apparently Monty always used to get his face painted too, which the Hufflepuff was keen to see if was true. He'd agreed to meet up with Jenna before they came to the great hall and explored it himself, and by the time the first year made it to the hall, it was once again decorated with all things related to LGBTQ. Wendall only actually knew what the L and the G stood for, but he hoped after today he would be able to fill in the rest of the letters too. "Hey look, it's Lysander," he said eagerly, running over carefully to catch up with his friend, just in time to see him grab a cupcake. "We should make cakes next time we watch a film. Maybe in the holidays, you can come over for like, a whole week, and then Olive can teach us how to make them." he grinned at the Gryffindor. If they could learn it then next year they would have an endless supply of cake, even if they weren't quite as pretty as the ones Lysander was eating right now. He was pretty sure that Olive wouldn't mind if he invited his friend over to stay, and besides she'd heard Olive say that it meant she was in Professor Summers good books too.

The longer she spent at Hogwarts, the more its Pride celebrations meant to Lillian, and the more she looked forward to them. She hadn’t had cause to talk to a student directly about their sexuality like Kahurangi had, but she believed that it was important for teachers to be visibly, happily queer. This year, her own personal influence was more on her mind than ever; her sister and nephew were staying at her apartment right now, and he would be attending Hogwarts here next year. Lillian was very aware of her duty now to act as a role model not just for students in general, but for Arthur in particular. Lillian entered the hall with her bisexual pride ribbon pinned to her jacket, and spotted Kahurangi over at what looked to be a new table, with books. She would definitely check that out later, and catch up with her friend - but this year Lillian thought she could do with some more obvious colour, so she joined the line at the face painting booth.

Stella was usually excited for Pride, but this year she felt especially so. It was always a wonderful event, full of colours and support, and since Nell had told Stella her thoughts about her own sexuality, Stella hoped she would be coming too. She was obscurely pleased that her sister had settled on the same label that she had. Stella strolled cheerfully into the hall, wearing the shirt she’d found in pansexual colours. She spotted her sister fairly quickly, over at the information table - well, of course Nell would be there. Phoebe and Charlie were around too, but they looked like they’d rather be left alone, so Stella just waved at them on her way past. The other person she was hoping to see was Fleur, but she didn’t seem to be around yet. So Stella grabbed a flower crown and went to support her rather nervous-looking sister. “Hey Nell! Great to see you here.”

@Nell Wright

Nell was looking through one of the books curiously when a familiar voice jumped her out of her thoughts. She looked up, smiling nervously at Stella. Oh. She had known Stella would be here of course, but something about seeing her big sister here felt a little uncomfortable. "Hi." Nell said in a small voice, hiding behind her book slightly. "Um, I'm just reading..."

Dating and romance hadn't really been a big part of Fleur's school experience, but she has been thinking of it more and more lately. Before, she would have attended pride to support Lars. Her brother had known he was gay for a few years now, and was even dating a boy in his year. Fleur thought they were a very cute couple, though it did feel weird that her brother had started dating before she had. But now she wasn't just here for him. Over the years, Fleur had noticed she was just as attracted to boys as she was to girls. It wasn't a shocking relevation to her or anything, and she accepted she was bisexual pretty quickly. She wasn't sure if she wanted it on a shirt or painted on her face, but it was something she knew about herself now. The redhead entered the great hall for the annual pride event, looking around for any familiar faces. She didn't spot Lars yet, but did see Stella with her sister. After a moment of hesitation, Fleur headed over to them. "Hey guys, happy pride." She said, smiling at Stella and then glancing at Nell. "Have you seen Lars around?"

Lysander grinned at Wendall when he caught sight of him approaching, and briefly stepped out of the face-paint line to talk to him. His friend had such a brilliant idea, and knowing how to make their own snacks in future was definitely a good thing in case there weren't any that were available. "Heck yeah!" He responded. A whole week at Wendall's would have been so cool! There were still so many muggle movies he'd yet to see that the Muggle Studies department simply didn't have. "We should go to Gambol and Japes in the holidays too! Have you been? They've got so much cool stuff. There's even a toy I made up!" He continued. His own billywig toy had remained on display by his bedside table since he'd bought it. He was too afraid of breaking it to use it, despite how excited he'd been to try it out. "Have you seen my dad around? I want to give him this cupcake but if he's not here I'm just gonna eat it."
@Wendall Layton

Stella nodded. “That’s a good plan.” She could see that her sister felt awkward about this . . . should she leave her be? Stella glanced absently over the table, not sure what best to do. Fortunately, a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts. Stella turned and beamed at Fleur. “Hi! Happy Pride to you too.” She frowned briefly and glanced around the room, making a sudden decision. “No, I haven’t seen him. Would you like me to help you look?”

Phoebe laughed when Charlie said it was gross but that she was in too. Overcome with a fondness, she stood on tiptoes to give her a quick peck before putting the cookie between their faces. She took a bite on one side, but the cookie then broke and crumbled before they could do any more. Phoebe laughed as the pieces fell onto her robes and onto the floor. "I think the experiment failed." She said, licking the crumbs off her lips. "Too bad."

Fleur smiled back at Stella, glad to have found her. She had been looking for Lars, but now kind of wanted to stay with Stella and Nell. Or maybe... just with Stella. She tucked some hair behind her ear. "Ah, alright. It's fine I think." She told Stella. "He's probably somewhere with his boyfriend." She admitted. "Wanna, uh, hang out?" She asked a little awkwardly.

@Stella Wright

Stella smiled, and nodded a little awkwardly to Fleur. "Yeah, that would make sense." She glanced back at Nell, not feeling quite right about leaving her sister, but maybe it would be for the best. And she did want to hang out with Fleur, very much so. "I'd like that," she said. She glanced around for something they could do together. "Want to . . . check out those sparkly drinks?"
