The missing players on the team remained a sad reminder to Lysander of those who had graduated, but with the few new players they had to fill those spots, he was looking forward to seeing what a new season of Quidditch would bring. He'd spent some time setting up the pitch for their first practice, eager to have everyone back up in the air and preparing for the upcoming matches. It was his last chance to see them take the cup, and play against one of the other schools. Once everything was ready to go, the captain practiced some broom-surfing in lazy circles until the rest of the team showed up, at which point he brought his broom to a halt and looked down at them from above, his hands on his hips. "What's up, team? Before we get started, let's all say hey to our newest chasers! Hey, chasers." He said, giving a brief salute to the two fresh faces on the team. "Good to have you guys here. Big shoes to fill and all that. Looking forward to seeing what you bring! Enough to take out the other teams, I hope. Let's see Gryffindor take home the cup this year!" He called loudly. "Regular practice today, everyone. But we won't be pairing off into teams. It's everyone for themselves, except..." He paused, snapping a finger while he thought it over. "Chloe, I want you targetting one hoop, and Stan and Zephryn, I want to see you guys working together and aiming for the other hoop. Pass when you can, try to steal from Chloe, just show me what your teamwork looks like. Ronald, you're on the north hoops, Nikko, you're on the south. Flynn and Elara...it's friendly competition, okay? Great. Emma and Isaiah, let's not go too hard on the new guys. We've got plenty of other practices for that. And Lysander, keep being a great captain. Alright, I think we're all set?" He said with a small chuckle. He didn't give much time for anyone to say otherwise before he blew his whistle and released the Quidditch balls into play.

Nikko was feeling optimistic about their chances this year and he wasn't entirely sure where it was coming from. They had only won one game last year and they had lost two of the best chasers in school but somehow he was willing to think they actually had a shot. He was excited to see what these new teammates could do and he gave a thumbs up to Lysander when he heard his instructions. When that was over he kicked off into the air and took up his position at the south hoops.

Flynn wasn't so bothered about the new members on the team, just so long as they could actually score. Then again, he doubted they would be as good as Noel and Sully had ever been. He supposed he was just going to have to be an amazing seeker. His gaze did drift to Elara for just a moment before he scoffed and looked away again. Friendly competition his ass. He was going to destroy her. Swinging a leg over his broom, Flynn wasted no time in kicking off and setting off in search of the snitch.

Lysander swooped away to scour the sky for one of the bludgers he'd released.

Zee had gotten notification that she had actually made the Quidditch Team. This of course was one of the happier moments here at Hogwarts. Finally she was able to join a team sport, something she was missing terribly. She had to admit the excitement was greater than the worry she faced as she entered onto the Quidditch Pitch seeing her teammates there gathering. She joined the group as she listened to Lysander the captain, to explain what they would be doing for their first practice.

Zee gave a little wave as he welcomed the new chasers to the team. She hated that he used her full name though. It made her cringe slightly, but now was not the time to correct him, if there was ever was a time. The young Gryffindor nodded when he told her that she would working with the other chaser Stan. Zee made eye contact with Stan. They would after all be working together this practice.

Without waiting, Zee swung her leg over the broom and pushed up into the air. She watched as the balls were released and her first practice began. She leaned forward and flew forward on the field, getting used to being on a broom again.

(OCC: I am completely new to this whole Quidditch Game Play. I apologize if I hit the wrong button when I was trying to do options. I was kind of just checking to see what there was and accidentally must have hit something.)

Lysander kept an eye out for the other beaters to see if there was a good opportunity to send a bludger their way, though the one he was railing turned sharply and he had to quickly adjust to try and keep up with it.
(OOC: You’re totally fine. Always hit Other Action with every post unless you’re planning to use that post to score if you’re in possession of the quaffle. Other Actions don’t show in the actions tracker. You’re totally fine with making mistakes, that’s what practice is for. Don’t be afraid to take possession!)

Stan was both excited and a little anxious about his first Quidditch practice. The new team members would have some big shoes to fill and he had no doubt that they would often be compared to the previous members on the team. He was determined enough to show everybody that he could be a good Chaser though. He smiled when Lysander welcomed him and the other Chaser to the team and carefully listened to the instructions he was giving them. It didn't seem that difficult. He gave Zee a nod when she looked at him, hoping that they'd be just as good of a team as the previous chasers had been. He mounted his broomstick when the whistle sounded and kicked off, catching the quaffle once he could reach it. Once he had caught up to Zee in the air, he passed the ball to her and continued to follow along.

Flynn kept his eyes forward as he kept up the search for the snitch.

Elara was glad to see she made the team. She knew if she kept it up, it would lead to her eventually being the real seeker, but at the same time, she had so much to learn from Flynn and the other players. She listened closely to Lysander's directions and tried to give Flynn a friendly smile. She didn't understand what she had done to make him dislike her. Either way, Elara, took to the sky and kept her eye out for the snitch.

Nikko kept his eyes on one of the new chasers as he grabbed the quaffle. He wasn't sure which way he was going to go first so he got ready just in case they came towards him.

Stan followed his fellow Chaser after he passed the ball to her, hoping that they'd get lucky on their first try.

Flynn continued to fly around as he searched for the snitch

Zee held the Quaffle under her arm as she flew through the sky closer and closer to the hoop. It was certainly odd being on a team with this many people, but the adrenaline feeling could not be beat. She got closer to the hoop and attempted a throw. Sadly she was unable to score the point. A little frustrated with herself, she instantly tried to get her head back in the game. Next time. Next time She thought.

Elara kept her eyes out for any hint of gold among the sky.

Chloë still couldn't help but to feel a little odd walking onto the pitch for practice without her best friends right next to her. She still had Emma and Lysander though, for which she was glad. She just had to get used to the new chasers. Chloë listened to Lysander explain what the plan was, nodding along when he mentioned her and pushing off into the sky when practice was started. She watched as the new chasers immediately passed around, which felt like a good sign, and flew after them as they made for the hoops. She watched the girl make an attempt at the hoops, shooting her a smile before catching the quaffle when it was thrown back out and heading for the other side of the pitch.

Isaiah was keen to be back on the team, nudging El with his shoulder as he joined the team on the pitch before listening to what Lysander had to tell them. He nodded when the captain addressed him, making a mental note about it before pushing off into the air and scanning around for a bludger.

Stan watched with bated breath as Zee attempted to score for the first time, and gave her an encouraging thumbs-up when she missed. She'd get it in next time. He turned his broom around when the older Chaser got possession of the quaffle and followed her along in the off chance that he might steal it from her.

There was still no sign of the snitch just yet, but Flynn kept searching.

Chloë took a second to see if the other chasers were behind her before continuing down to the hoops Nikko was guarding. Once she got close enough she chucked the quaffle at the left hoop, watching as it sailed through.

Isaiah continued looking for a bludger to hit.

Zee was still mad at herself for missing the shot. The young Gryffindor girl hates to lose. What made it worse was when she saw Chloe make the goal. Zee willed herself to focus as she caught the Quaffle as it was thrown back into play. She flew down the field towards the hoops looking around for someone to pass it to. The captain did say he wanted to see teamwork.

Before Stan even had time to try and attempt to steal the quaffle from Chloe, she had already managed to score a goal. He followed the other Chaser as she flew towards Ronald on the other side of the pitch.

Elara kept her intense search for the snitch. Maybe she could grasp it before Flynn.

Nikko frowned but wasn't surprised as Chloe managed to get a quaffle past him. He tossed the ball back into play and was interested to see how the new chasers would do this time.
