Taking a Break

Hey gang~

You've probably noticed I've been pretty sparse lately to say the least but I've been trying to keep a minimal level and.. mostly failing lol.
I've recently switched jobs at work which has been great but it does mean I no longer have long stretches of time during the day to spare (prime HNZing time), and my time after work gets filled up doing other stuff I would usually do during the day, etc.

Additionally, as most folks know, it's not a fun time to be trans/queer in the world at the moment and HP in general has become especially tainted as JKR continues to use her platform to actively harm trans people. I've always been able to separate HNZ and HP as a whole out in my mind as this is more our own space free from the franchise but as hate and vitriol increases in the world, it's becoming harder and harder for me want to open the site and receive the barest reminder of that, which has made feeling inspiration to write even harder than the lack of time.

So, I figured I'm going to take this upcoming S2 off entirely, no logging on, no lessons, etc (you may have seen the temp prof position is available, yay!), and then come back for the next IC and really try to get back into things and see how I feel about things. Hopefully this'll give me some much needed perspective and also time to get settled with the new job and get my work/life balance.

Miss you guys and our characters terribly, so hopefully I'll see you all in the new IC year, bright eyed and filled with inspiration lol. If you need me I will be logging in from time to time but if it's urgent, hit me up on Discord.

Hope the break serves you well, baby boots. It's hard atm out there and boy JKR doesn't make it easy to just enjoy a good non-affliated site, despite everything amazing about it. I'm in a space where I can ignore a lot of things (despite being queer) but that's a privilege (and also not interacting with society much). Hope you're enjoying your new job, and hope things work out for whatever is best for you. Sending much love your way.
