Y49 Start of Year Feast

Magne was always excited to get back to school, always eager to have another year of learning, magic remained one of the best things he could do. Even if in his mind he was eventually going to be going to do work like his parents. magne cheered loudly for each of the sorted students, making sure that he cheered extra loud for the new ravenclaws. He liked sorting, watching where kids ended up. The boy glanced as the food appeared in front of him and found the pieces that he'd missed when he'd been with his parents.

Amias wasn't sure what to make of the table he now sat at. He hadn't been sure what he wanted in sorting, but he also wasn't sure what this could mean if he'd gone to durmstrang. He glanced around at the other students, the other first and not first years. He wanted to make conversation but couldn't find those first words to be able to do so.

Fraser had been both relieved and disappointed about not getting the head boy position, for one, he already had more on his plate than meant that taking on something else was hard, but he knew that Hugo would do an amazing job and he was so happy for his friend. Fraser was also very pleased for June, knew she'd do the best job with her new role. He cheered for all the students, enjoying as he always did spotting all the new students. It was going to be a really fun year, he was sure. Fraser pulled his food towards him and began eating when he could.

Friday liked being someone's girlfriend, and liked having a boyfriend. It just felt nice, like a good status to hold. It helped that Santiago was great, and good looking. But, she'd come back to school realising that he was in seventh and she in sixth, so that wasn't necessary going to bode well. Friday had opted to sit with him, but was quickly losing interest in what was being said. Sorting was dull and the headmaster speaking was even more dull. She was glad when the food appeared.

Miroslav was so done with the sorting and opening feast from the moment it got started. he was just tired, unwilling to listen and uninterested in any of it. He just boo'ed loudly for everyone, and then the food appeared and he gladly took some, the only saving grace of this was the food.

Daiki was thankful to be back at school, he liked learning and he liked doing things at it. He had decided to not bother with quidditch this year, it had been fun, but he wasn't that keen to play more than he had. He sat with kairi, eager to catch up with her the moment that they were able to which was when the food appeared. "You good?" he asked quietly.
@Kairi Kennedy

It had been a relief to end up in the same house as his brother. Not the end fo the world if they hadn't been together, but he was still glad that they were. He liked being around his brother and this school was new and he wasn't yet sure what to make of it. "I'm glad we're together," he assured his twin as the food appeared.

Samantha looked up from her plate, not realising that the person next to her had been speaking to her until the last moment. It took her a second to realise what he had just asked her, but she gave him a small grin. "Honestly? This is my second year here, and it still feels weird," Samantha says with a small chuckle. "One time, last year, I went on autopilot mode, and almost headed to my old common room" Samantha says with a small laugh, shaking her head at her mistake. "I guess you get used to it after a while though"

@Professor Louis Alcott

It had been strange being back here if Molly was being honest. The former Hufflepuff hadn't thought she'd be back here to be honest, but here she was. Molly had contemplated if she wanted to apply here or not, but she decided to bite the bullet and do it anyway, and now here she was. Her youngest sister was here and her younger cousin was starting his first year here, which Molly was happy to see him experience it before her very eyes and she couldn't wait for him to experience the castle like she had. She cheered for her cousin once he was sorted, thinking the house had been sorted into had been a good pick. It hadn't been long until the food had appeared onto the table and they were able to dig in.

With the hat declaring her house, Beth let out a breath she didn't realize she had been holding. She stood, doing her best to appear graceful. As she walked carefully down the steps again, angled to the cheering table in yellow, she spotted a familiar face. She hesitated a half a moment, surprised, before she walked over. Doing her best to keep her steps light. She took the open seat next to him with a small smile. She kept her posture straight and her hands folded in her lap, clapping politely and daintily for each new Hufflepuff until the sorting ended. When the speech was over, she turned to the boy beside her. "Hello," She greeted with her best smile. "I hope you don't mind I sat here,"

Vanity snorted as Morrie woke up, stretching a bit as the younger girl stopped sleeping on her. "Yeah, it was boring. Next year, I'm sleeping on your shoulder." She announced as she started filling her plate with food. "Some parents really shouldn't be allowed to name kids. Rosé Glass, really? Do you think they have a sibling named Wine or Juice?" She asked with a roll of her eyes.

@Morrie Ayre

The kid had good taste in food, Cyrus had to admit. He also grabbed some of the mushrooms and then looked at him with a slight smile. "You've had one of the most overwhelming days of your life. I would say that is normal." He said gently. "It's all new and exciting but also kind of terrifying, I slept like a baby my first night here, despite the new surroundings." He told the boy.

@Freddie Lagowski

Sybil was excited to be back at school but it did feel a little daunting. There was just so much to do! So she tried to enjoy the calm before the storm and clapped for all the new Slytherin's as they got sorted into their house. It was so exciting to see new faces every year. It was hard to believe she was already a third year, only two years away from her OWLs, and four years away from the NEWTs and graduation. It was a was overwhelming when she thought of it like that so when the food arrived it was a welcome distraction. She noticed her roommate sitting nearby and wave. "Oh, hey Winnie! How was your break?" she asked, always eager to get to know her roommates better. You'd think sharing a room would be enough but it was shockingly harder than that. @Winnie Calida

Freddie looked down at the small mountain of food on his plate. He was starving, but he was so tired that the thought of eating it all was almost a chore. The day had been pretty overwhelming, now that he thought about it: the frantic last-minute packing, rushing from portkey to portkey, riding on the Hogwarts Express - not to mention that in his jet-lagged brain it was really two o'clock in the afternoon. Of course he was exhausted. A grateful smile played at the corners of his mouth. He was waiting for the 'gotcha!' - the punchline that usually followed someone being nice to him. It was coming. Any second now. No?

"I'm not scared," he said, spearing a piece of mushroom on his fork. He would have preferred to cut everything up on his plate before he started eating, but nobody else was doing that, so he depressed the impulse. "Everything's just big. It's different - but, in a good way." Next Freddie tried some of the breaded cheesy things. "The food is better than my mom's." He was thinking of his aunt, actually, but it was simpler to call her Mom. Either way, she'd never really adapted to Susie and Freddie becoming vegetarian. "Where's our dormitory? When do we go to bed?"

@Cyrus Thorne

Cyrus forced himself not to look skeptical as the boy said he wasn't scared. He reminded himself that he probably wouldn't have admitted to being scared either if an older student asked. He nodded, hoping his face betrayed nothing. "Yeah, it is big. You'll probably get lost a bit at first, but you can always ask the portraits. Prefects too, but the portraits are around everywhere and most of them are nice." He said. He smiled a bit. "The food is better than my mom's too, to be fair." He said in a lower tone. He nodded at the next question. "Each house has their own common room in different parts of the castle. Ravenclaw is up in the tower. The prefects will show you the way after the feast is done."
